Insurance is a scam. You as the owner are forced to pay for insurance as long as you have a mortgage or some other loan against your property. God forbid you ever need to submit a claim, they deny you and then raise your premiums because you have damage. Fuck them

Why are roofers the only tradesmen that really even want to get involved with the insurance company so much so that around my town there’s at least 100 companies and they knock on peoples doors. I’ve never had a plumber knock on my door

The whole point of insurance is to pay claims. Why do they fight?? They wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for policy holders paying them. Then when it comes time to pay what’s owed now they don’t want to pay. It makes no sense.

The silly roofer or adjuster who tore up the shingles did not document that the roof had wind or hail damage to achieve coverage in the video. All he documented was roof was old and repairs would be difficult.

Why are american roofs so light weight and weak? you guys seem to be using tar'ed felt, which is what we use for our sheds, we use slate, concrete or clay tiles in the UK on our houses and we dont have tornadoes or hurricanes. its not uncommon for a british roof to last three hundred years.

Insurance adjusters have paper work and text book knowledge, thats it. They have zero logistical skills and no practical thinking on how things are ACTUALLY done, period. Been a carpenter 22 years this month i've dealt with quite a few of them. Home inspectors too, most of them are absolute clowns, period.

it comes to a point where you need to cut a 4x4 roof area with existing shingles attached to it and show it in front of a judge in court and have the insurance adjuster try to remove a shingle without damaging the rest of them right in front of everybody, it'd be so hilarious.

So the past roofer put extra sealant under each shingle. The roof damages as its repaired. Insurance covered the roof but never knew what they were covering. Now they want out. Hahah

Here in Germany homeowners would lough at you, if you would try to sell them this paper-shit as roofing. We would use these shingles for a birdshouse at max. ^^

Yeah, it's a frustrating battle especially in two party states. Too many bad apples on the insirance and contractor side. I am not always right, but most importantly I am honest if I see damage and explain what I know to the homeowner. At the end of the day, the homeowner pays the premiuma which ultimately pays for the roof. If a roof is damged from a storm and it's not repairable, then insurance is on the hook.

A dented roof vent or a hail dimple in the roof does nothing to the roofs abilty to not leak. Because of you Bullshit artists we are all paying 50% or more for homeowners . Scams

I don't see any wind damage. This roof is just old, and as such needs to be replaced at homeowner's expense.

The fence could be damaged by excessive wind or hail

If you used a spackle knife you may have better chance of not damaging shingle but i also know your trying to make $ on doing the whole roof (which it is about time for a new roof anyways)

What about 6 pipe jacks. Insurance paid for those, and the roof is a discontinued Tamko shingle. I'm still learning. lol

I’ve run into this many many times and there’s a way to do this without damaging the shingles. You need a sharp flat bar and you need to angle the bar just right and use a hammer to lightly tap it and break the tar and not the tabs
