I’m in DeKalb and have had a recent repair from a reputable roofer. He told me the roof the roof was shot. So my insurance company and said the roof was perfect and looks great. What the heck! I had missing shingles (repaired). A leak(repaired). Wind and hail damage. What gives? How do we get these guys to give what we pay for! Oh…same adjuster from American Family.

Now I’m not a roofer, but am an insurance agent, and that roof just looks old…….not claim worthy! Not trying to disrespect at all, but roof looks over its time, so insurance should not cover that, homeowners need to replace their OWN roof unless there is an “event”

Of course the roof is old. That's why a covered peril of wind damage was paid for on this roof. Insurance shouldn't be used as a savings account. However, an insurance company should inspect what they promise to insure. It goes botg ways. Would you personally blindly offer someone a guarantee with your own money that you're going to pay for damage sight unseen?
