Nice kit! i’ve a Surly Ogre …that sleeping mat is huge when packed..i’m using a Vango Aotrom which pack up tiny and after a good years use all fine 🙂👌🏻
Perfect Sunday afternoon inspiration. Thank you Dan!
Great video mate, did you use a gps or maps and is the route marked at all?
What month did you do the oregon outback in? I’m thinking about doing it in a couple weeks but I’m not sure how much snow/ice there will be
Love the tumbleweed!!
Lots of epic views on this trip! Oof I’d like to visit myself. Thanks for sharing. You were brave to take a novice along, and he was brave to join! Perhaps he may have had a better trip with more preproduction beforehand, perhaps not. Sometimes you need to just jump into new experiences. Somi was still smiling at the end and he joined you for that final loop. That says something.
Go Somi! Love the friendship and humor. Great video as always Dan! Thanks for taking us along.
A view of the part of BC I missued. Thanks
Great ride.
Amazing but scary.
👍
Your video editing is getting even better!
Doing great. Fine videos.
Great job, one tough biker.
You d0 a great lob with all aspects of your adventures
👍
The Eastern Sierras are what really made me fall in love with California. I hiked to Palisade Glacier once; it was one of my favorite moments in the backcountry. But this bike trip, holy shit, what an amazing adventure.
Hi Dan, fantastic video. This is the second I've watched (the first was the overview of your gear). I'm in Switzerland. I've done a few bikepacking trips, no more than 10 days though, and I'm thinking about making a big one, taking a year off, but that's further down the line, before I'm planning something for next summer, probably in France. Thanks for sharing, both the images and your thoughts, it's inspiring and allows me to travel a bit from afar. Good luck and looking forward to the next episode. Ride on!
Thimble berries :)! They are fantastic ~ I've been known to "graze" myself down mountain roads picking & eating.
Will Somi ever bikepack again?
Amazing Dan. Your positivity and determination is inspiring. Love the videos, Chris Camp
Awesome video n journey. Thoroughly enjoyed👍🙏🙏🙏
Another stunner of a video, Dan! I really appreciate the effort you put into this and at the same time you seem to quite cheerfully take on monumental hill climbs and daily challenges equally well. Can't blame you for not being motivated every day either. These friendly, helpful Mexican people and their everpresent dogs must make it a little easier, no?
Well done Somi! Bikepacking, especially with any significant elevation gain, is very difficult but you hung in there. Glad you got to experience the amazing natural wonders of Mexico with Dan.
That shot of you two zooming 100 meters down the hill ... thinking all the time you had to come back for the camera ... that’s dedication to your art!❤️
Just seen the cost of renting a bike from Bike Flow for a day $500
Your vids are always a great watch. Keep your pecker up.
Really appreciate your videos Dan, thanks for putting the time and effort into these. You're inspiring!
👍
👍
Thanks for your brilliant videos. Really enjoy your positive outlook to both the good and bad you face on the trip. One piece of feedback- why are there captions now. They're quite distracting when they pop up and the audio seems clear enough that they're not necessary. I preferred the cleaner approach.
Super awesome!
Always excited when i see you drop another video. Chapeau Somi, what an introduction to bike packing.
Beautiful video
Are you using or would you recommend using a ground cloth with your tent? Mfg website is contradictory on their recommendation for using one.

Thank you so much for another amazing video! And here’s to Sumi who will remember this as an amazing adventure despite the little side encounters with the road and all! You are both such an inspiration! I wish you both great health and safety and joy! In all your life adventures.
What a wonderful journey. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, Mexico is so beautiful.
Poor Somi! Way to persevere! Oh, those springs in the mountains looked divine. Were they hot?
As an 83 year old bicyclist, I am thoroughly enjoying your videos and I can feel some of the difficulties. Keep it up and keep on pedaling. Jim Gambrell.
So it looks Somi he needs to raise his seat a bit. See if that will fix his knee pain. From what I see it looks like his seat is too low.
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go alone also.
I love the mountains there, so beautiful!
Thanks for sharing!
What a great trip!
