How lucky are we that you take the time to share this incredible adventure with us. I saw your post on Reddit before you left, and I never would have guessed that over a year later I would still be immersed in your journey. I look forward to your daily updates and videos. Keep enjoying life!
thank you for your journey. You have a magnificent gift with the dogs, and at the last, the los burros. what fun. you were not alone, you had those great dogs to share the journey. Happy Trails!
The human mind is quite powerful when you set your destination and do all you can to achieve it, tenacity, patience and some hard work mixed in drives the body to achieve it. Dan you have mastered it in your daily rides.
Schön auch deinen täglichen Fortschritt zu beobachten 👀. 🔥 Grüße aus Tehuacán 🇲🇽 von meiner Panamericana Bikepacking Radreise von Deadhorse Alaska nach Ushuaia Argentinien. 🚴
beautiful cinematography and natural scenario, I wish I had your strength, youth and money to be able to do something similar. Well done Dan. I hope your way to Ushuaia goes smoothly, do not forget to stop at El Chalten to hike around. Paz y amor hermano
Nailed it on the WHY of bikepacking. I'm so inspired by these videos. Once I have enough free time and shed some responsibilities, bikepacking this part of the US down to Mexico is very high on my bucket list! Until then, it's nearby adventures for me
Another stunner of a video, Dan! I really appreciate the effort you put into this and at the same time you seem to quite cheerfully take on monumental hill climbs and daily challenges equally well. Can't blame you for not being motivated every day either. These friendly, helpful Mexican people and their everpresent dogs must make it a little easier, no?
Another great video sharing your journey with us. Your positivity and joy is contagious! Thanks for sharing your honest moments of gratitude for the beauty and struggles along the way-powerful!
Wow Dan your filmmaking has really gone up a few levels with this one. Loved alll the b shots, that shot of you leaving the hostel with the bikes downstairs is so on point! and all the dogs, nature etc.. reminds me so much of Iohan but with your own stoke! Keep them coming! You keep the fire in me to set off from Alaska one day!
So glad whenever you post a new video! I had no idea these back roads were even in existence, anywhere. You take us places we would not ever go. It’s beautiful! Thanks and have a great trip!
WOW......absolutely gorgeous....thank you for these beautiful videos, I can live vicariously through your experiences. I would have loved to do this in my younger day. God bless you. ❤
The ecology is so remarkable in Mexico!!! Thank you for another mesmerizing, inspiring, gratitude-filled video Dan. Looking forward to watching your and your buddy's adventures in Oaxaca! Love, Maddie and Stratton from Oregon
This video was like a rich dessert! Thank you! I really wanted you to keep that dog. A dog adopted me in Mexico ten years ago. I wasn’t ready for another dog and I wasn’t smart enough to have wished for her. Have you seen John and Mira and their human-dog bicycle adventures? It’s possible! Hey, thanks for pausing to appreciate cactus and other fascinating flora! I had no idea that region was so breathtaking! Loved those butterflies too!
I was getting worried about the beautiful little that followed you and was released she stayed in the village. I know they're all irresponsible with those eyes, but don't let them get attached to you. Fab episode as always.
Beautiful video with gentle music. Amazing and rare. I won't be doing any damn gravel myself tho. LOL. Nice to see you have the carefree BEST gears, a Rohloff14, so have I for 21,000 miles. Nearly unbreakable. But hey, get a chain cover on there. It would be easy with that small ring. I spent months making a full case CF one, so now I can go 3,000 miles without even lubing it. Wouldn't hurt to cut your bars an inch, IMO. I toured Saigon towards Chengdu in 2014/15. Then a Canada/AM Pacific NW loop in 2018. Bike is up to 120 lbs loaded and I DON'T camp. LOL. I have a SA XL-FDD dyno drum brake in the front wheel, 100% awesome as well. ZERO worries for 33,000 miles in any weather.
Hi Dan, fantastic video. This is the second I've watched (the first was the overview of your gear). I'm in Switzerland. I've done a few bikepacking trips, no more than 10 days though, and I'm thinking about making a big one, taking a year off, but that's further down the line, before I'm planning something for next summer, probably in France. Thanks for sharing, both the images and your thoughts, it's inspiring and allows me to travel a bit from afar. Good luck and looking forward to the next episode. Ride on!
Finally caught up with your latest videos Dan. Again fantastic, very proud of what you have achieved so far. The video work has been trully excellent especially through Mexico and gives one a better understanding of the landscape and beutifull views. Your videos must be a must for fellow cyclists giving them what they can expect if following your route.Well done and keep up the good work.
Amazing! Your videos are getting better and better in content and production! So glad that Tumbleweed is sponsoring part of your adventure. A great match of product with how it was intended to be used..
An excellent episode. Yur positive attitude is always inspiring and your filming is top tier. I wonder who you manage to keep your minerals balanced. Personally, I easily cramp up so I have to always bring magnesium to my trips.
Excellent as usual! I'm happy that you: • Number your Videos chronology (Shorter titles would be better: They wrap and we cant see the number or the rest of the title, eg this one "Volcanoes to Desert" - 19) • You don't show the arduous going to pastry shops or even worse making coffee - those people have no content. You have content with great stories and fabulous landscapes. Power On Buddy, Be Safe Be Healthy!
Hello Dan. Welcome back. You are looking good. Your face is smiling and your body is strength. Obviously you had a good time in England and a healthy recovery. Thanks for the fantastic videos. The route and aerea you are cycling is astonishing and gives a different view about Mexico. I have one question. Is there any source where we can see your route? All the best, not to much rain and best regards.
