DIY Window Wiring Passthrough For Solar Power And More!
I had a few people ask about how I run my cables through to the outside and this is it. I didn’t want to drill 5 holes into my wall, so this is my solution. It’s not perfect but it’s a step up from what I was doing, and so far has been perfect, I do need to clean it up a bit more. I even ran Minisplit line set through it no issues! Let me know what you guys think!

Rebuilding my 48v Off Grid Power System Eg4 6000xp, EG4 LL Battieres

System specs are 10kwh of battery storage, and 3500 watts of solar. Today I upgrade my 48 volt off grid solar power system. We were using an EG4 6500ex for a year now but I want to add split phase capability so we upgrade to an EG4 6000xp, and added an additional 5kwh EG4 ll 48 volt 100ah battery, now I just need to add more batteries.

I bought the cheapest Chinese 196cc diesel engine on amazon, used it to turn a brushless hub motor to generate electricity, then connected it to the golf cart batteries and drove around, it worked very well, its a hybrid setup that works on many types of fuel, all built in my back yard

    It does not have a high amp cutoff, just put a resetable breaker Nader NDB1-125 Iin:100A on it which should be on all systems, and should be rock solid 👍

      @@mannyfragoza9652 I think most of these battery manufacturers will say there grade A. Honestly if it works and pulls capacity I think it’s good. Plus this one was cheaper then most 280ah batteries

      @@playstation2bigs No it’s more then likely a passive balancer, most BMS’s are passive. As long as the cells are matched it shouldn’t matter too much

    In a video I watched the Chinese person talked about Grade B cells and she said the QR code should have a B on it if they are Grade B cells. Maybe contact Eco-worthy to see if they will tell you

    i build these batteries for 240$. i just wrap them in tape and add a heating element and they fit in a 54 group size lead acid spot in a car. my volt has 200w of solar and trickles energy into my house from the battery all day long to offset my baseload at around 65w

      @@Scott-ig1zd i replied where but yt hid my comment. basically i use a 4s active inductive balancer which is like 2-3 bucks instead of a bms. most bms' are actually the cause of failure/fire

    On the label on the battery, they say it's rated at 280Ah at 0.5C, so you could push it a little bit more in capacity testing

    Sounds like a semi truck engine when it is running smoothly. Love the sound of diesel engines over gas engines. Gas doesn’t sound as nice as diesel.

    Should be running it with a inverter generator, as a regular generator will slowly ruin your welder due to " dirty power"

    It Surprises me that nobody appears to be selling some sort of simple plastic/rubber sealing tape/strip designed for using solar panels as a roofing.

    The chargeverter cleans up the dirty power from your non-inverter generator so that you can safely charge your batteries.

      @@greghisola9875 It runs all day, I have enough solar coming in to sustain the ac unit without using the battery, at night can run for 5-10 hours on low

      @@Mikebuildss I’m in Houston TX just had power outages in the past few weeks ago because of the hurricane, My Ecoflow was powering 5000 btu small windows unit, Tv and fan during the the power outage for the first few hours the Ecoflow was incredible, I’m still learning on diy solars system but definitely I’m interesting on doings similar to your setup for sure, thanks for sharing.

      Absolutely cheaper still, the tools arent that expensive, plus when your done you own them and can install more minisplits in the future!

    Great video. Hey I just did my first diy project using the EG4 inverter and the EG4LL battery on a hand truck. Unfortunately I don't have solar panels that create enough voltage to solar charge the battery through the EG4 inverter. I have two EcoFlow bifacial panels that are 220W and I was thinking that if I just connect them to an mppt solar charge controller that I could trickle charge my battery. Is this a valid idea? I don't want to mount panels on my roof and I only need my battery for backup during outages.

    They're not solid state... They're standard LI-ion pouch cells. The part # on the pouches themselves says they're a li-ion pouch cell.

    You are promoting what appears to be a scam product. This should be taken down immediately since reviews show the batteries are not solid state! A little research before posting this would have told you that.

      @@davesilver5493 I can see your point, but at the same time, I paid for this with my own money, and gave a small overview, it’s my own options of the product, I still think it’s a quality power station, if you bought this solely because of the solid state battery claim, then return it.

      I will make a more detailed video, and everything is grounded on the cart, but no connection from cart to anything. on my old setup i used an old cord with just the ground prong and would plug it into the wall in order to ground.

    What if you put the 20 tooth in behind another 20 tooth leave the 50 to 70 tooth rear and run a higher torque clutch that engages sooner so you can use more of the rpms, I'm cheaply redoing the jackshaft to a new pair of mb200 im ordering, i have sprockets and clutches ready to order at the end of next month, im trying to help get her ready for a longer camping trip we're taking them on, I'm not a fan of torque converters, an am looking to get good use out of a jackshaft setup. I would really like comments and opinions plz.

      Only bad thing about the centrifugal clutch is your gearing is set either lots of torque or speed, too much speed burns clutches out. I have a mb200 I would like to convert to a torque converter setup

      My bill is about 50/ month cheaper not using any central air cooling, so it would take a few years but it would eventually equal out, I do it more for fun than anything!
