I'll give you some tips: 1. Rinse off stripper residue with steel wool and acetone scrub down,working small patches and wiping off. 2. Rub a dab of Boiled Linseed oil on cloth over any areas you are gluing up. Just enough to lightly coat the veneer but not get into crack you are gluing. This prevents the glue from leaving spots on the wood. Once glue gets on wood you cannot sand it off as veneer is too thin and now you have an ugly white patch where surface finish won't penetrate. 3. Use an oil to feed and condition the wood, then dry for 2 days then surface sealer. Adds a warm glow to the wood tone. 4. Instead of rust removing gel, use phosphoric acid. No rust for a year.

It looks like a bar for drinks. Nice work! What do you use to strip it? I'm in California and the new VOC laws removed all the good stuff. So mad about that. Nothing works now! I have to switch to soda blasting instead. I'd love to get some info on what you are using. I have a few pieces I need to do.

Wouldn't change a thing. The builder doesn't know how ahead of the times they were. Two-tone is now the thing.

I doubted the two-Toned look, but you were spot on. I really liked the original pulls and thought you could dress them up, but the new ones take this piece to another level. This is not deco it is post war industrial crap, the swedes were making and selling millions more units using solid timber and arts and crafts movement design theory, this piece is missing its mirror as well, england could not sell this rubbish overseas at all, google 'Arts and crafts movement' to find enlightenment and have a look at the best furniture england ever produced.
