This is awesome. An artist friend who's also a skateboarder just did a community workshop for kids to come and paint their decks. I just sent him the link to your video!
As a 80s baby as well I totally get it. I have bought a bunch of retro gane systems and repaired them (that was my thing). You gotta keep that inner child happy sometimes!
I’m a GenX woman, and I can completely understand why you decided to buy and restore this item. I would’ve LOVED to hang out at Decked, although I never had good enough balance to actually ride a skateboard. I love the graphics you chose to engrave and inlay on the deck, too. You’ve done an absolutely stellar job on this board! I’ll bet Sonny’s mom wasn’t impressed, though. (She probably gets a kick out of his cameos in your videos, though, and this one was so cute.) At least it wasn’t too expensive, and it was a good way to practice your restoration skills. Just be very careful riding it, and get yourself some joint pads and a helmet. As a GenX, I can tell you that landings kinda suck more now than they did when I was trying to ride a skateboard over forty years ago!
Thank you very much for your kind words, I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment 🙏 My wife much prefers the skateboard to the motor bike I used to ride 🤣 It’s a good compromise 👌🏼 thanks again 😎
I think you did a great job or repairing your skateboard, and with the help of the Boss reassembling, it went well one day. The Boss might just show you how to really use the board hahaha
What a cool and amazing awesome video! Looks so snazzy and jazzy 🎉🎉🎉! Don't think you could've gotten it back together without Sonny's cute sweet assembling help. He's such a precious sweetheart! Fantastic job! 😊❤
Wonderful resto mate 👍 I was a 70s baby, the humble board and BMX were our transportation (occasionally to the infirmary 😂) back in the 80s. Keep your inner child alive 🙃
I love it. Brought back memories for me and how I could never stay on one...lol. Your son is the cutest. I love that your allowed him to play and fiddle with it.
Very nice job. Be careful riding it, you have a family now! Speaking of family, your helper is sooooo cute, thanks for sharing him with us in your videos.
Skateboard 🛹? Mid-life crisis? Call it what you want, I call it "Sah-weeet"! Nothing like a little nostalgia on wheels. Have fun buddy! 🤙 PS: You know what my favorite part of the video is... Sonny! He just keeps getting cuter with every show. But, why shouldn't he? He IS "The Boss"! Thanks again! 👍
Cole, first, you should know, if it has to do with the 80’s, you can totally sign me up! Fashion? Check. Music? Check. Lingo? Check. Skateboards? Double check. So, I’m equally psyched with your nod to 80’s nostalgia on Flip It Nation. Gnarly. 😅
Rad, dude! It turned out awesome! I think different veneers would be eye catching, but your choice was good. I wonder if you could carefully cut out the grip tape where it overlaps your designs? That way we could see them better. Great job! Party on!
Thank you so much 😎 I did think about cutting them out, you are right, it would have looked ace. If I had a spare sheet of the grip I think I would have given it a go. I actually tried cutting the shapes out of the grip with the laser and it did a great job. So yeah, more grip, more time and perhaps a little more patience! Next time! Cheers for watching, I really appreciate it 👌🏼
if you live close to the shops and stuff in your new location, you should collect trashed boards and resto-mod them and use them. i don't know the skateboard laws in the u.k. anyway, i'd definitely watch the occasional skateboard video. i like what you did with the laser. my wife and i like when the boss inspects too.
I was never allowed to have a skateboard 🛹 I did ride skateboards that my friends had I was pretty good at riding. Sometimes my mother would leave me home alone we had a steep driveway which was great for skateboarding we had a blast . No helmets no kneepads no wrist guards. If we fell we got skint up but they always healed up fine .One day my dad showed up with 2 skateboards for my daughter's.Insaid to him you never let me have a skateboard 🛹 he said did it keep you of a skateboard I couldn't lye I said no . He asked me if that's how I got all scraped up when I was 10 I told him yes He also asked where I was skateboarding I told him on our driveway. He asked if mom had seen me I said no because she wasn't home . Your little boy is so cute are you going to let him have a skateboard 🛹 if so please get him a helmet ⛑️ knee pads elbow pads and wrist braces. Prayers 🙏 and Love 🤟 From Oklahoma
What? No half pipe, hand rail, or tail slides? I expected you to drop a kick flip or a heel flip. Good thing you got that kid there to help rebuild. Now get back out there and work those drop ins on the pipe ya poser! 😅
No utilicé pintura en esta restauración de patineta. Pero si elegí usar pintura negra en una de mis remodelaciones de muebles, esa es mi elección. Tu comentario tiene mucho derecho.
Very charming, and your baby is darling. His hair is so cute.
This was fun, Cole. You're never too old to enjoy and indulge your inner child. It's where we have the most fun. Beautiful job, young Kiwi
It was a fun project, thank you very much :)

Ohh wow, what a great idea for kids! Even I would enjoy that :) Thank you for sharing my video with him!

Skate boards aways make me think of Michael J Fox and Back to the Future. Sonny is adorable as always, The Boss!!!
Fun times. And kiddos curls are so adorable
I like the play on words; Hey Day instead of hay day. Cool. 😎 Sonny is growing so fast!! Big Love to the family. ❤
Thanks so much, he certainly is growing up fast! Thank you for watching 😎

@@flipitnation please give her an extra hug for me. I can see her point.

Yeah, what she said! ⬆
Thank you very much, yes without Sonny it would still in be a pile of pieces 🤣
Thank you 🙏
So enjoyable! Your young apprentice obviously takes after his Daddy 👶🙌🏻🩵
Thank you, I am very lucky to have an apprentice that shares the same interests. Tinkering 😂
Nice to see something restored that’s not furniture 😊
It was fun to do something different although not sure the UA-cam algorithm is happy about it 😅
@@flipitnation probably not but we are 😂
Wonderful resto mate 👍

I struggle with that too, haha. Thank you very much for watching :)
Also, I can’t get enough of Sonny! He’s so cute and way funny! 😂😅
Good thing the boss was there to straighten you out! Loved hearing about the coffee shop's cool tables - so creative!
Truly a thing of great joy and beauty. The Boss is growing up so fast he'll be 'boarding down the street in two years :)
Very nice job. Be careful riding it, you have a family now! Speaking of family, your helper is sooooo cute, thanks for sharing him with us in your videos.
Thank you, I will :) Sonny is quickly becoming the star of the show 😎
this was so cool! It turned out so fresh looking
Thanks mate, nice to do something different for a change (don't think UA-cam is happy about it though) 😂
@@flipitnation UA-cam is tiring lol the analytics can look great but things still die off quick. Tough game! But keep it up, your vids are sweet
Your technical expert did a better job than I could.
Awesome work! but you should have done some tricks at the end!
Haha, standing up was challenging enough to be honest 😂😂 Thank you for tuning in!
Looks amazing and beautiful.
Thank you very much 😎

Neat different thx enjoyed the skate board redo
Thank you very much :)
Really cool this looks so awesome
Thank you! Cheers!
I wish I could do this for my oldest son, who is 41 now. He was pretty good at skateboarding and rollerblading.
I loved rollerblading too, not that good at it though! Your son and I are the same age :) Thank you for watching!
Really love this one.
Glad to hear! Thank you :)
Love it! 😊
Thanks! 😊

That was great fun to see and I think for you to do. well done!
love it
yeah very 80s but yeah not valuable still cool tho
those rails can be replaced
after all your wood work i kinda feel u could have left it without grip
Always listen to the boss!!😂
Absolutely! 😎
