I mean whats there NOT to love about Jay?!?!? I mean he does let his grass get too long on occasion but, either than that I'm honored to call him a friend. Very much enjoy your videos also Bud & the weaving on the MCM challenge is still one of the coolest things I ever saw. Hoping all is well guys, Dirty Jersey out!!!
I love what you are doing. I love to see your family and that they are helping you with your small business! The purists that only think wood furniture should just be refinished are extremely unrealistic. The main purpose is for the piece to be used again and loved and not thrown into the landfill. I love both painted and stained pieces. I support you in your journey! Continue ans carry on.
Thank you so much, I agree 😊 I am very lucky to have them and I really enjoy involving them where I can. I think they secretly love it too 😉 Thank you so much for watching 🙏
Yes, some comments can be brutal and very uncalled for but fortunately there are a lot more awesome comments to make it worth while 😊 Thank you for watching, I appreciate it a lot!
Paint, stain. The piece usually tells you what it needs. I have beautiful table converted to a desk that broke my heart to paint. But i had no choice. There was too much damage to the wood. I love watching your videos. Your son is a cutie. I have learned so much from watching youtubers. Keep going your stuff is great
Thank you so much, it’s nice to hear you have learnt something from my videos. I bet your desk looks beautiful, paint certainly has its time and place. Thank you for watching 👌🏼
I found your channel through the recent challenge, and have enjoyed watching this second video from you. Whatever you’re doing, don’t change a thing. Your personality, talent, determination, and skills come through. I enjoy you thoroughly. I watch a lot of this type of UA-cam channel (including Jay) and each one is different. Each one has a different approach and I like the variety. I will be a frequent watcher so keep on doing exactly what you’re doing. Best of luck to you and your lovely family. 👍🏻
Oh thank you so much, that’s really lovely. I too love how different everyone’s channels are, there is a nice mix of personalities, furniture and skill levels. I really appreciate your message, thank you 🙏
I, too, found you through the challenge. I love your voice, and your work is beautiful. I’m not usually a fan of painting wood furniture, but everything is a matter of what the eventual owner wants for their home. One man’s trash is another’s treasure, especially after it’s been customized! I’ve seen some beautiful painted furniture, especially when there is a beautiful contrast with the hardware or some exposed beautifully stained wood. Your wife is beautiful, and your son is adorable. (I love the tradition of having him appear in your videos!) Be sure to show his footage to whoever he woos when he’s an adult, LOL. It’s interesting to hear the subtle differences in your accents. One of my favorite things about UA-cam is hearing the many different variations of the English language spoken around the world!
I sure hope you don’t listen to the haters. You do great work, solid creativity, adore your little human and your wife. Most of us really enjoy your willingness to challenge yourself. It’s so fun seeing the furniture bloom in your hands!,
WTH that's the whole reason I have a spouse. To be a PARTNER in life. If I'm doing something difficult, he absolutely offers to help and vice versa. Also, date nights and anniversaries don't always have to be super special. You spent time together AND got something accomplished. Seems like a win to me. I'm 43 and have been married for 23 years. Flexibility, empathy, kindness, love, and unwavering support are important. We don't even like the same things, but we've managed to raise 2 wonderful children and thrive in life goals because we support each other no matter what. If your wife was unhappy helping you, I'm sure she'd say so.
I’ve loved watching your channel grow. I realize that some people feel the need to hate on the work of others and leave mean comments, but the bottom line is that the nasty comment still helps the algorithm and that makes it a win for you. Keep on keeping on. And sharing Sonny.
I've been watching you for a big part of your journey. I find you to be real and open. You do lovely work no matter what you choose, paint, stain or whatever 🤗 I love the Sunny snapshots so much!!! I don't understand why people would feel the need to be negative 🤔. In the words of Plato: follow 3 rules when speaking. Is it True, is it kind, and is it necessary!!! The opinions of strangers mean less than nothing to this Granny who's been around awhile!!! You keep doing what you do so well,I look forward to seeing your videos 😁
I am following you almost from the start. You are doing a great job and you have a beautiful family. It is not easy to change country (even continent in your case). Please ignore the ignorant people. You are doing great with limited tools in a limited space. Lots of loves from Turkiye!
Good video. Stain it, paint it, do what your gut tells you. Both can be wonderful in a home. It just depends on your look, style, and preference. Carol from California, USA
So wonderful that you acknowledged Jay! You both are so good at explaining what you’re doing and why AND you both have great presence on camera . . . quite charismatic!
Hi I have been watching you for about 6 months before you re located to the UK. I really enjoy your enthusiasm to your projects, also your commentary is very relaxing . Thank you for sharing, it’s so important for people just starting out. Very inspirational. 😊
So cool that you live in Kent as I do too! Love watching your videos and seeing your son as he is such a cutie pie. There will always be haters. Let them hate and don't let it bother you. They clearly have nothing better to do!
Been watching from across the ditch since the beginning- can’t believe it’s been a year! Now you’re in another hemisphere and doing your thing there. Congratulations 🥂 I bet there’s not a lot of UA-camrs doing that 😉
It was really nice to get to know a little bit more about you and also your UA-cam journey Cole, thank you for sitting down and sharing 😊👍 My goal for 2024 is to focus more on my YT channel and grow it as much as possible - I do struggle with filming and editing but that’s largely to do with my ADD and getting bored far too quickly 😅 It’s much easier to just work on a piece of furniture and not have to worry about camera angles and all of that! But that’s something I’m working on too. You did make me chuckle about not inviting people round to sit and stare at your painted furniture - I never realised what a heated topic it was before I started furniture flipping myself 😂😂 Wishing you lots more amazing success on YT and lots of memory making with your son as a stay at home Dad (mine has just gone off to uni and yes, the time really does fly!!) 🥰
I wish you all the very best with your goal, I’m sure you will get there. Filming and editing can be tedious at the best of times, ADD would add another layer to work through for sure. Yes I quickly learnt that painting was a hot topic 😅 Hot and sensitive! Anyhow, I look forward to seeing more of your work in 2024! Take care 😎
Thanks for the update of your first year journey. Love your videos!! Keep up the great work and this viewer will keep on viewing!! Anxious to see where the next year brings you, your family and your channel. Many blessings!!
What a lovely video! I don't get people being upset when other people paint furniture. That's 🤪. There's plenty of furniture in the world for people to do what they want. Painting instead of buying new is excellent! People commenting on accent is also crazy. Its a different accent, not a wrong one. The same people that needs to learn more languages.. Enjoy your content, keep it up!
Thank you so much for your kind message, yes the painting thing is an odd one!! Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment, I am so grateful ☺️
I listened to the whole video, Cole. You're easy to listen to. After what you told us about not skipping ads, I will watch all of yours. I want to see your channel grow. I think you and your wife have excellent decorating taste. As for painted furniture--I have only two pieces out of twenty pieces of furniture that are painted, so yes, that was a good comment to make. I pronounce router as rau-ter, and I think most of the English speaking populations pronounce it that way. I'm in the U.S.. I watch about 10-15 furniture rehab'ers. Do you know of: 1. Modern Makeovers--Canada 2. Katie Scott Salvaged by k. scott--Canada 3. Transcend Furniture Gallery--Canada 4. John's Furniture Repair--Canada 5. Thomas Johnson Antique Furniture Repair--Maine, U.S. P.S. I thought you and your wife worked together brilliantly to make that woven seat. I was amazed at how the two of you made it look easy (I'm sure it wasn't), and, it looked fantastic at the end. Always keep in mind that it is easy to misunderstand intent when some comment is written. The person who made that comment about your marriage was probably trying to be funny, and it didn't work. All of us are missing so much now in this day and age as we communicate on social media via texting and commenting. That's how it was before the invention of the telephone, when people could only write notes and letters--there was so much misunderstanding. The telephone changed all that, but sadly, we are all texting much, much more than making phone calls these days.
I love watching your channel. I love to try to guess if it will be paint or stain or both. Doesn't matter to me how any furniture refinisher finishes their piece. As long as it looks nice. I also love watching you and your other foreign friends because I love your accents and how you call things. Congratulations, you've done very well for 1 year. Your wife is a doll to have helped with that weaving project. Your son is a doll.
Hey Josh! Thanks buddy, I really enjoy listening to you play the drums when I’m in the garage, you are so good!! I might have to feature you in a video soon, thanks for watching! 😎

You grabbed my attention with your humour and I liked what you did and how you did it. I do remember the chisel and I think the comments were awful you use what is available to you.
The paint issue can be brutal and annoys me greatly. Yes ideally if you have a really old piece of furniture restoring it fully would be nice BUT as is life things don't always go that way and if paint is needed to extend it's life then so be it better than the dump/landfill.
I have stopped commenting on a lot if channels because of the trolls especially bigger channels as they get it the most and I don't even read comments on them anymore as I just lose my temper with the idiots 😂
