Thanks for your opinion of these over the years I've owned 13 of them and I thought I would get a set of MK7s to spin with when playing and just use my 1200s and 1210s set up in the house like you I love just looking at them I remember when I dreamed of having a set and couldn't afford them now I collect them long live Technic

I just tried fixing one of these, they're trash. Just a cheap Chinese PC on a board. Really no rhyme or reason for powering on, trying to power on, or not doing jack shit. Power switch seems to do nothing. I think the problem has to do with the battery, if I disconnect the battery connector to the board, and plug in power it'll seem to try and boot normally, but then shuts off, probably because it sees there's no battery connected. If I connect the battery, it'll rarely boot, and if it does, I still can't figure out why or how. Basically just crap.

For anyone that is looking into getting one of these because it looks sort of like an MPC then I would suggest just getting an MPC. The MV 8000/8800 is its own thing and I think a lot of people see the pads and assume that it's going to be like one of the older MPCs. If you are set on getting one then try and get an 8800 model. That way you'll have the VGA and mouse input and that'll make things a bit easier. For any MV fans that think I'm hating or something, I'm not. I've owned one for a few years now and I like it. It's just that I've seen the same thing over and over again. Too many people not really understanding what it is that they're buying.

Needless to say I have yet to mess with it because I'm so fascinated with the MPC's (I have a few). It's just so hard to break away. Thanks for the review. As long as I have it, it's not going anywhere and I'll get to it. LOL

For context , I have onwed at one point, 2000, 2000xl, 3000, 2500, 5000, studio, renaisance, touch, live 2, key61, mpc x and also played on 1000 and 4000.

The MV 8000, is the MPC that was made by Roland instead of Akai, I'm told it has some more advanced features then the Akai MPCs released at the same time.

That thing is definitely a beast and looks like a serious learning curve with huge benefits once accomplished. I'm a 2000xl guy and will stick right where I am....no fx and all 😂

I've had mine since launch. I mastered it with the help of the forum MVNation back in the day! The forum no longer exist. I had a chance to buy the rights and keep it going, but I opted out. Just know it has 3 separate locations to adjust the swing/timing. This was one of the biggest issues for MPC users who couldn't wrap their heads around the timing or TC. It was actually more precise than any MPC of the time with the swing. Also, to get 16 Levels, push the "MultiLevel tab over the pads! Enjoy!!

Original owner of MV8K. If you have the VGA & mouse card option installed it becomes its own environment, also making it easier to view options, edit and mix and finalize. Still a bit much sub menu diving though. The lack of speed on this & it's predecessor MV88K is what killed these.

Love this machine. I have the mv8800, though, and I use the mouse and monitor. It drives my whole set up and is a midi and sampling beast. Just wish it had more audio and midi outputs by default...but I have more than enough stuff that can mitigate all that

The learning curve isn't steep, it just looks intimidating. The mouse opens the entire thing up. If you love the 8000, imagine that 8800!

Enter the 36 chambers, Tical, 36 Chambers the dirty version, Liquid Swords and Uncontrolled Substance were all Ensoniq EPS 16+. The records that didn't do so well were Roland MV.

Back in the day.... I had a Roland VS-1680, wit my MPC 3000. I said if there was a machine that could combine the 2 somehow....🤔 Roland's drum machine approach is not like Akai's that's where it missed.... Because it looks like a MPC, it's hard not to approach it like one. But whatever you do.... DON'T HOOK UP THAT MOUSE AND KEYBOARD OPTION!!!!😂😂😂 It'll put your workflow and creativity in the toilet!!!💩

Ive recently purchased one again for the second time after selling my frist one about 8 years ago. The learning curve is definitely deep but the effects and sounds coming out of the machine cannot be denied

Roland drum machines are confusing to learn - great I review !!

Actually, is favorite was the Ensoniq EPS + 16 and then the Ensoniq ASR-10. He produced Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) and those solo members albums with those.

To play samples chromatically (aka multi-level pitch), just check the "make keyboard" box when using quick assign or assigning a sample to a patch.

I bumped into your channel, UA-cam knows I’m a fan of the Roland Mv. To be honest, you did pretty good for a newbie. Rza had trouble understanding it at first. Please don’t sell it. Plug up a VGa monitor to it, so you can get a bigger screen and color. The Roland 8800 already comes with color on the screen. This machine was the first to have Direct recording.

I like the mpc 3000 you have look more new looking and monder time that one you got look old looking like star tack of 70s keep your mpc 3000 better
