Man I feel you lol!!! Out of 5 MPCs I own including a MPC 60 from 1988, none of them has ever given me the problems like my Live 2 (bought brand new from Sweetwater). Always kept covered from dust, mint condition smh. Imma post a link to a video I made. Maaaaaan…. mine went through a phase where I would not shut off. I mean you hold button forever, if it did cut off it came right back on!!! THEN…. It stopped coming on lol!!! Like it’ll blink on thin right back off smh. When I finally got it on I just left it on for months lol. Now if you leave it plugged up it occasionally will just pop on once or twice a month. But it always eventually shuts its off. Thing is my battery is fine. Only way to turn it off when it acts up is to unplug it and wait a day for the battery to drain. Three months outside my warranty smh 🤬🤬🤬
I refuse to spend over $1k again on another one. I just like to chop samples on this for the 60 and the 4000. But I’ll use the X until it breaks I guess lol
@@streetlife20 send the link. We need to get a class action lawsuit going. Thanks for this. People think it is something I'm doing wrong with the Live 2.
Yo', It's the battery, Lithium batteries go into a "lock" state when they get too low. This happens in newer Laptops and it's supposed be a protection mechanism for the battery. If there is not enough juice in the battery it won't be recognized and won't charge. It's just the way the Lithium batteries are made now so you have to keep a little charge on it otherwise.........you know the rest. Thanks for the upload, my Live 2 has been sitting for about two weeks so I better plug that boy up. You saved me a headache Brother, thanks again.
That paid JJOS is the best OS on a sampler, period. I run it on the 2500, and still no modern shit is touching it. More audio tracks, chord banks with strumming, way better sequencer, with amazing note nudging. It has lazy chopping if thats what you like. When you go the mute page, it shows both programs and audio tracks to be muted and unmuted together. Program edit page, far superior. The list goes on and on. People that haven't tried it, have no idea. They definitely missing on some shit with this modern OS. They can save all the plugins, if it meant just getting a better experience. I mean they are nice for people that don't have any hardware and probably came over from a computer. Not seeing me on the 2500 though.
Damn that sucks , I’ve never had a problem with any live 2s (owned 3 different ones) I’ve even not used it for a month and no battery issues . I got lucky I guess. BUT I did get a lemon keys 61 that I ended up getting rid of

I just tried fixing one of these, they're trash. Just a cheap Chinese PC on a board. Really no rhyme or reason for powering on, trying to power on, or not doing jack shit. Power switch seems to do nothing. I think the problem has to do with the battery, if I disconnect the battery connector to the board, and plug in power it'll seem to try and boot normally, but then shuts off, probably because it sees there's no battery connected. If I connect the battery, it'll rarely boot, and if it does, I still can't figure out why or how. Basically just crap.
I don’t trust the new Akai Machines lol. I’ll stick to my 3 old machines 3000/2000XL/60 for anything new I’ll rely on my Roland SP MK2. Stop giving Akai all your $$$ lol. Jk
You can't leave them plugged in. It doesn't have auto shutoff charging. Once a battery is fully charged, if you leave it plugged in, and it doesn't have auto shutoff charging, it just burns up the battery cells. This is the case for all electronics.

My shit say "no audio device found" so my Live chillin' in a backpack in my storage unit 😂😂😂
If you are having power issues, have you looked into getting a power conditioner?

Damn bro, I remember when you dropped the first video about your first live 2.. smh
IKR. I got it back now. It working perfect now, but the clock it ticking again.
I thought I was the only one having this problem
Your 1000 is beautiful.
My live retro audio keeps droping out barely used
My new mpc x se can't download my plug ins for three months!! Just rediculous!!
Hi i had the same issue, couldnt figure it out for days. I tried a different outlet and it worked.
I got this one fixed under warranty and sold it. I'm never getting another Live 2.
Mine did the same thing, I have to get a replacement battery.
I got mine back from Akai and sold it. No more Live 2s for me.

Not true. Mine stayed plugged in 90% of the time. Worked fine unplugged.
