Love hearing heads going thru the same struggle haha I had ALL the modern MPCs and an XL. Sold all but the XL and just copped the One plus. I'm finally at ease with space and clarity
I never had the 4000. I may check it out in the future. I wish it was a way to just rent MPCs for like a month or 2 and return them. It's getting harder to sell MPCs on Ebay.
I finally got a 4000 and you are absolutely correct my friend. It is incredible. The workflow is slightly different, but I like it very much. ua-cam.com/video/Iys69HOU1uw/v-deo.html
The Live 2 hits the sweet spot IMO. Making music completely unplugged everywhere around your house or even outside of it just feels liberating and definitely adds to the inspiration.
Having it sit for months doesn’t mess up the battery. The only issue is when you try to use a charger that doesn’t come with the live 2. I tried to use my charger from my mpc touch and it made my screen flash on and off
I don’t understand how people can have all of the newer mpcs and they run the same OS. So it’s the same Mpc just in a different body. Keep the live and 3000. The live, one, x is the same just different bodies.
I commented on a vid a year ago about the 2kXL - u mentioned chicago but I didn’t catch it until I re-read it just now because that’s where I’m from and I thought I mentioned it first! Lol if u ever need a tech reference in chicago lmk I’ve worked at some of the big companies here and have friends at the others
I would've kept the 2KXL and the 3K and sold all the rest. With the 2KXL you could've just ordered a new main board for it , they (mpc stuff) have them brand new and they weren't all that super expensive.
The don't have the TOP BUTTON CONTROL PCB BOARD in stock. That is the one that I would need. www.mpcstuff.com/akai-mpc-2000-xl-top-button-control-pcb-board/
Just went through something similar, took my XSE back because I have a MPC key 61 and a Maschine+. I LOVE the XSE but for the money and they all do the same thing I didn’t see the $2k+ value. So, sold my live ii (for the key 61- I paid only $800 that’s what I sold my live ii for).. I sold my Komplete Kontrol keyboard. So left I have MPC key 61 and Maschine + and my Big Six is on the way
I bought a ton of stuff maybe because I was trying to find something that fits me. Started with a 1000, didn’t have a clue how to use it. Put 800 into it, then bought a 2000 xl for like 400. Then I bought a Renaissance and an NI mk2. Bought the mpc touch. Sold it for a live, and a Live 2 Love it. Bought a mk 3(because I saw 9th cooking on it lol) got 2 MPC 1’s. An OP 1 sp404 mk2, and lastly an mpc X and I’m still trash lol I have more than that. I think I like the experience of what they can do. Like your channel bro subbed
I feel you all day on this. Some days I feel like no matter what I make a beat on, it never stacks up to the great beats that I hear. I can't bring myself to learn new workflows with the Machine though. I saw the same ninth video. I just don't have the bandwidth to learn new stuff right now.
@@ppic7162 it feels good to not be alone. I strive to be better though. As of recent, I’ve found it hard to be motivated to learn to use my equipment and make better beats. We will get out of this brother
I’d keep the 3k and XSE. XSE has the greatest workflow of any MPC ever release to date. I still have my first MPC (Blue 2000XL got it in 2005). Use the XSE to control all the rest of your equipment
@@ppic7162 you shoulda seen me looking for the Track Mute screen on the 60! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. After realizing it ain’t one all I could do was laugh lol 😂. Then newer ones will spoil you!!!
Yeah the MPC ONE is a great unit. I also have the MPC X SE and that is definitely my favorite, I may send it in soon for the Black Lion Mod. One you click with the MPC X it is an awesome machine.
@@ppic7162 I enjoy it! I use to have issues with setting up MIDI connections, well I never really learned the proper way to set it up prior to 2020. But I was actually saving up to get the X and just before I did, AKAI dropped the Key 61. For me, it’s a game changer! 🫡💯
I wouldn't sell my X or original Live. Man, that 1000 brought back so many memories. My introduction to MPC was the 1K with that aftermarket screen and JJ OS something or other. I never used it to make beats (only click tracks), unfortunately, & the repair company lost it. Ugh. Now I want another one to try the work flow for beats.
Keep the live 2, the 3000 and the X. Trust me you’ll never get bored lol. I still own a 5000, a 4000, a live 2 and a X. Some days I swear a particular one brings out creativity that the others don’t lol. Then it switches the very next week lol. I could see myself getting rid of the 5000 if I got a 60 though
This is what I'm talking about. Switching up sometimes brings out creativity. You won't be stagnant. That is always how I felt. I get so much shit about having so many MPCs.
Keep the 3k no matter what. Keep the 1k if it has jjos imo, you can midi to the 3k. It would be a great combo Sell everything else. The new stuff sucks
Love hearing heads going thru the same struggle haha I had ALL the modern MPCs and an XL. Sold all but the XL and just copped the One plus. I'm finally at ease with space and clarity
I just got the One plus for my birthday. I haven't even opened it yet. Now I really have to get rid of my One.
Agreed, the MPC 3000 stays forever. The 4000 is incredible too and is slept on, it’s just takes up a lot of space.

Don't get rid of the X--workflow on it is top notch. Get that On Stage stand for it, like I did. It will save space and make it more ergonomic to use.
The Live 2 hits the sweet spot IMO. Making music completely unplugged everywhere around your house or even outside of it just feels liberating and definitely adds to the inspiration.
sell them all and buy an asr 10 and a nissan maxima
I had a maxima back in the day. I can't fit anymore cars in my garage. The ASR X scared me for life. No more ASRs for me.
