1.33:1 Aspect Ratio Cheat Sheet (4:3)
Classic 1.33:1 aspect ratio cheat sheet with resolutions for most popular container sizes, from Standard HD 720p and Full HD 1080p through 4K and all the way up to 8K video.
Aspect ratio is the relationship between the width and height of the image displayed on screen. It is generally expressed as two numbers separated by a colon, width:height.
The 1.33:1 aspect ratio, also known as 4:3 aspect ratio, is one of the earliest and most iconic aspect ratios in the history of film. The picture width is 1.33 times the height (or 4 units of width for every 3 units of height).
1.33:1 was the aspect ratio used for 35 mm films in the silent era of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is very close to the 1.375:1 (abbreviated as 1.37:1) Academy ratio, defined by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as a standard after the advent of sound in film.
1.33:1 was also the first aspect ratio for television sets and most early computer monitors. The ratio was therefore considered "fullscreen" as it fit the entire screen of a standard television set or monitor at the time. For the most part, 4:3 aspect ratio resolution typically refers to TV screens and monitors, and the more technical 1.33:1 is used in the context of film and television productions.
While wider aspect ratios like 16:9 and 2.35:1 have become more common, the 1.33 aspect ratio has made a comeback in recent years. Filmmakers like Wes Anderson, Paul Schrader and Zack Snyder have used it in their films to evoke a sense of nostalgia, pay homage to classic cinema, or simply as an aesthetic choice.
These are the most common 1.33:1 aspect ratio resolutions:
8K = 6144x4608
8K UHD = 5760x4320
6K = 4608x3456
5K = 3840x2880
4K = 3072x2304
4K UHD = 2880x2160
3K = 2304x1728
3K UHD = 2160x1620
2K = 1536x1152
Full HD 1080p = 1440x1080
HD 720p = 960x720

Awesome. Thanks!
It should really be 2.16:1
Thanks !!

Wow amazing selection ! Thank you very much for sparing us a precious time.
No problem. You're very welcome!
This is a super useful tutorial! Not only I learned how to close some gaps, but I also learned about track targeting and how to go to the next and previous gaps. Hats off and thank you <3
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for leaving a comment!
thank very much 🙏
You're very welcome!
so 2.39:1 is 21:9…right ?
Nope. 21:9 is a commercial screen/display/monitor resolution (as opposed to a film shooting or distribution resolution). IE a device aspect ratio rather than a common film/video aspect ratio. But... 21:9 is VERY close to Cinemascope 2.35:1 (see ua-cam.com/video/Ghr7LhKLaaE/v-deo.html).
@@UnduMedia ok thanks bro!
This is so great, thank you! Is there a way to also delete the source files at the same time? Say I'm cleaning old projects and wanna save up on storage space ?
Unfortunately no... there is no way to delete source files at the same time. I've experienced the same issue. It would be helpful. But I'm not sure if that sort of functionality will ever be added (I suspect it's a concern to allow an app to delete files from the system that way).
Apparently my tablet is in 5:3? Weird.
Hi, there. I really appreciate this video series, as I find it very helpful. It’s hard to find the actual resolutions for some of the rarer aspect ratios. I’d really appreciate it if you would consider doing 1.37:1 Academy Ratio next, as there’s a lot of conflicting resolution information online. So far everyone I’ve tried has not exported properly. Thank you again for doing these.
Hi Noah. Thanks so much for the comment. I'm glad someone out there finds these videos useful. I'll tackle the Academy Ratio next. Funny you brought it up... during my research for the write-up in the description I found a lot of confusion online between 1.33:1 and 1.37:1. A lot of people thought they were the same, which they aren't. They're related in a way (one latter basically evolved from the former with the advent of sound). I'll let you know when the next one is published. And thanks again!

If I use 2880x2160 for my 4k video then can I add the end screen of youtube?
Yup. I did that for this video.
@@UnduMedia thanks for help🙏 I was looking for this aspect ratio 🙏😊

2:1 is perfect, as it is a compromise between the 16:9 of TVs and the almost 21:9 of smartphones. There are only small black bands in pillarbox for 21:9 screens, and letterboxing for 16:9 screens. And it is even possible to pan & scan, if you use a safe area of 85%. Very good, indeed. In fact, I love the 2:1, 3:2 and 5:4 ratios.
Thanks for the contribution!
the Bass Shake I was looking for, many utubers shows the theory and yes you can make a shake effect but it doesn't feel right. Thank you for the video!

these are not easy to use at all, especially for 4k editing
version for davinci resolve?
There are a few available here: mixkit.co/free-davinci-resolve-templates/transitions/
I guess my only question being: Do the video clips need to be slow moving/slow motion for these to effectively work? I noticed all (if not most) of these clips are slow moving. Would these transitions work for fast paced clips, or am I watching the wrong video?
YOU ARE SO AMAZING BROTHER

Hello sir , i hope you are doing great. I reviewed all the comments and Q / A. First of all , i really appreciate your awesome video , its just so high quality. Second , you rock man , patiently answered all the questions. Taking time and kindly providing answers to people. Third , i need your help urgently. I have the same problem that many have and had. When doing all the steps , the transitions wont work correctly in the timeline. It doesn't matter which transition being used , they just wont work. 1. My video resolution are 4K. When adding them to the clip , a little window in the middle of the screen is shown , so simply the scale is not right. Question 1 : to what number exactly should i change the parameters?! And what parameters need to be changed precisely? 2. In previewing the transition on my clip , it just doesn't shown right. My laptop is tuf gaming f15 fa506, core I 5 ,11400__ 3050 rtx __ 16 gb RAM , 1 tb SSD My premiere pro version is 2023. So , whats your the sir?! Should i change the premiere pro version to 2020 or 2021 ?! Im willingly waiting for your reply sir. Thank you in advanced. P.S : liked and subscribed cause it definitely worthy of it.❤
*so , whats your thought sir?! (Thoughts) is missing!
that girl don't look like she's mixing too well.. lol
She's just very, very relaxed while she mixes.
Thanks! I have a question, what if i want to delete a gap in just one layer and not affect the other layers?
Just lock all the layers you DON'T want to affect.
I've replicated the process step-by-step, but my transition remains awfully clunky. What's the missing piece?
Which transition, if I may ask. And... have you rendered the sequence (or at least the transition portion)?
Hey buddy , I got the same issue , have you found anything to solve it?!
None of them work as expected. Even after rendering, the effects still look subpar, and I'm better off without them, relying on default or downloaded presets instead. I've tried using adjustment layers, but they simply refuse to work as intended.
Thank you for The help
Any time!
thank you
You're welcome!
