Lot of good points. If you are not from Texas and need a state with no state tax's people should consider South Dakota. Fly or drive there stay in a hotel for one night and you can become a South Dakota citizen and have your new South Dakota driver license the same day. Also set up mail forwarding with Americas mailbox.

Patrick, you are a smart man...get out, get the groceries, and get home. You thanked us twice for going shopping with you, but it is you that we should be thanking for thinking about us and strapping on the camera. I recognized the sports stadium from your prior video and figured out you were taking us to the grocery store you showed us before. When you said "as soon as I make this turn (to the front of the store) I'll be going right into the wind", I could see the wind blowing through the tree on the curb. Thank you for the videos, I really enjoy them. Take care.

I'm with you on the snow, much rather have snow than rain! We're still waiting for a little snow way up in far Northern California. We usually get an inch or two a year, tho we did have a year when it snowed more than a foot causing some roofs to cave in!! Glad you are enjoying it, tho I hope you didn't get into too much trouble with April for not bringing the veggies. ;-) BTW, eggs are almost impossible to find here now and are stupid expensive, tho our Costco has eggs for $6 for a dozen and a half when they get them in. Needless to say they are rationing everyone since some greedy folk are stockpiling eggs. It's almost as bad as the toilet paper shortages we had!

All the Ohrid pearls you are looking at are well known and very popular for their beauty and low cost. They are NOT natural pearls, but man made from shells. I sold a few strands of these pearls as they were popular in the US as they cost about a tenth of the price of the high quality Mikimoto pearls I used to sell when I worked in the jewelry industry. Looks like a place I would fall in love with for sure!!

@patrickoverseas a natural pearl doesn't need to be polished, so that seems very suspicious to me. A really good strand of pearls such as Japanese Mikimotos cost thousands of dollars. Most of the man made strands I was selling ran about $100. Maybe something got lost in the translation? I could tell if they were real if I were there...🧐

I've been in Durres now since the first of January and have only ventured out for a pizza to eat, I think I would love to try the fish here and man oh man a steak sounds good! I mostly cook and sometimes I feel like I am missing out on all the local cuisine. Yesterday I walked about an hour and a half to check out the Amphitheater, it was incredible! It drizzled here today also so I chose to stay in and do my laundry, luckily this unit has a drier! Patrick, what you said in the past is dead on: this place is headed for development. You can see it. It's already charming, well-serviced, and urban. About the only thing missing is new-ness. Everything is older...but, not dilapidated in the way you see in Portugal, Spain, or Italy. In those places, things are falling apart and the population decline makes rebuilding less practical. You can see that they've taken fairly good care of this place. You can tell that eventually, the investors are going to start pumping capital into the economy. You got in at the right time. I wouldn't be surprised if property prices double in the 5-7 years. Great video, as usual!

Hi Patrick, Old town Ohrid is where my wife's family is from, and my family is from Struga which is 25 minutes northwest of Ohrid. Struga has a beautiful river that outflows from Lake Ohrid and splits Struga in two with Restaurants/bars on both sides of the river, during summers it's lively as can be for a tiny town. Glad you enjoyed Ohrid like I did during the summer of 2023. Also, Ohrid has a massive castle on the hill that might be the biggest in all of Macedonia.
