Rendering Digital Art | Simple and Easy [Intermediate]
Rendering is such a broad topic. There's a million different ways to render the same thing. Depending on your art program or medium, the tools you have access to, and even your skill level. Everyone has their own style of rendering and their own processes.
From using as many different layers as possible with every blending mode imaginable to painting on only one layer. Stylized rendering vs Realistic rendering. Using every color known to man vs just black and white. There are just too many ways to RENDER!!
But, in this video I breakdown the core process of rendering to 3 simple steps. With these 3 fundamental steps and a little help from references you will be able to render anything and everything with time. I use 1 brush, the basic round brush, to show that you can render too, even if you don't have fancy brushes.
You can watch the full real time process of me rendering (no commentary) here: ua-cam.com/video/ltGofEXcuEE/v-deo.html

The scratches on your screen are from dust and dirt lodged in the tip of your pen. The dust and dirt is picked up from your screen. I've had an ancient Cintiq 21UX (same plastic screen) for 10+ years with nearly no scratches because I've always kept the screen wiped before I started serious drawing and wiped the pen tip occasionally, also. I have read online that the matte, anti reflection layer of the screen is what is scratched and that it can be peeled off. However, that leaves you with a very slick, shiny surface to draw on. Either way I've never tried it to see it it is true or practical to do. Used Cintiqs can be bargains IF you catch one that isn't worn out. My 21UX was $2000+ when it was new but I got it used on ebay for ~$400. Today you'd have trouble giving one away, but mine still does everything it was supposed to do when it was Wacom's top-of-the-line screen. One must be cautious in that many older Cintiqs don't have drivers available for the latest OSs. For example, my 21UX won't be getting a Windows 11 driver.

Good video, but you won't be perfect, trying to be perfect leads to procrastination, you want to start with small projects and then if you like you can do bigger comic projects, planning is essential but narrow the concept down to not too much. the rewriting happened because your story wasn't mapped out or completed. I think your ideas were not bad, just needed more fleshed-out thought. I'm gonna read the comic

Queee???

I draw a lot everyday, naturally since it is my job. And I also like to press pretty hard on my tablet. So your experience may differ depending on how much you use it and how hard you press.

Publishing requires using the desktop site to publish (or did when I used it last) Try… 1. Open google chrome. 2. Login to your webtoons account. 3. Click the three dots in chromes top right corner, “request desktop site” (if you’re on mobile version. ) 4. There should be some upload/publish button now. Hope this helps! ( I haven’t published there in a long time, but this was the common problem + solution back then at least )

Also generally the only people zooming in enough to notice the details are other artists trying to learn how you do what you do So making mistakes isn't that big of a deal, and if anything small ones are beneficial. To teach other artists that hey you don't need that anxiety either

My canvas is 1500 x 1500 and I use a 10 px brush with antialiasing off so you can see ALL the delicious pixels when you zoom in. Its gives my art a sort of crisp look when you stop trying to fight the pixels.

I actually find it hard to draw on big canvases I struggle to add the right amount of detail when there's so much space and I can't decipher exactly how it's going to look when exported even if I zoom out I really enjoy smaller art and pixel art where every pixel makes a big difference in the final work

Do you have a little preview window open? Focusing on that to see how the piece as a whole is coming along, instead of doing that on the canvas, helped me tremendously with that

This but with writing. Im not a writer or anything artistic. Im a student and the most important lesson i had to learn is that you cant do it perfectly the first time. And thats fine. Outline>draft>second draft>deadline. You wont even be perfect. But you sure will be closer than not

I got a HUION 19 pro but I’m in the process of sending it back. It has a lot of conflicts with Adobe software and actually the 4k screen means that icons and tools in Photoshop are really tiny. Worse of all Huion’s online is terrible. I know realise you get what you pay for so I’m considering one of these now.
