Autogenous Weld - 2 different ways to fuse weld thin wall stainless parts. #shorts
Check out our tip showing two different ways to achieve an autogenous weld. #shorts
In the first example, the TIG welding torch is held completely still. The 2 stainless parts are being fused together without filler rod. This is an autogenous weld. As you will see the weld bead is smooth, clean and relatively flat.
In the second example the welding torch is being moved in a small circular motion to fuse the parts together. Personally, I find using this technique on thin-walled parts can help to reduce welding failures. As shown in the video, it produces a 'stacked dimes' pattern and appears to look as if it has filler rod added to the weld.
Two ways to fuse weld thin-walled parts and two different weld finishes.

Way too lomg...jesus christ..wny say one word when 50 will do 😂😂
Don't watch any of our other videos if you think this is too long. If you want to learn, then details are required and it usually takes more than 1 word, if you want a quick video, watch a short! 🙂
@@FuelExhaustsLtd except i wouldnt have known it was too long unless i had watched it in the first place. Folk dont need to know the ins and out of the cats arse.

u r the best
I cannot believe you media blasted those end caps. They now look PHUQED!!!
Everyone to their own! 🙂
Can you dB kill a jcb jet washer?!!!
I wouldn't have thought so as the noise is from the pump. Not something we have ever been asked before! ;-)
What a brilliant video. True expertise 😊
Thanks very much! 🙂
NIce job. Just wanted to ask about center tube of the muffler? It is missing there? Could it get jammed then cotton doesn´t stay rolled and drop in the middle of the hole?
I am not sure what you mean?! There is perforated tube in the centre of the exhaust and that is what the packing material fits around.
What kind of drill do you use to make the rivets removed so fast? Are the rivets stainless steel or aluminum? Thanks for a very useful video.
We use a 4.1mm Bronze Tempered HSS-E Stub Drill from Dormer. The rivets are stainless. You are welcome! 🙂
Nice laugh at the end :-) Do you believe that there is would be *any* change in *performance* in adding a slip-on exhaust to my CB500X?
Hehehe. It depends on what you put on but with our exhausts if the baffle remains in place, it is not really performance enhancing. ;-) Unless you go down the route of tuning etc too.
Sounds more like a V twin than a parallel twin. Honda has absolutely nailed it with this model.
Why the hell is it called stealth if it's not quieter?
Haha never thought about the noise, just the all black look. ;-)

Great job
thank you!
Does it work with Al tubes? Thanks
Yes but it depends on how malleable the type of aluminium being used is.
No suena nada de nada , buena moto pero muy mal sonido
Thanks for sharing on your channel! I sure like that bending machine you have, never seen one like it in the USA. The advantage of that large diameter degree ring is sure not lost on me! Your shop is beautiful also. Clean organized work space equals excellent workmanship.
Thank you very much for your comments. Have a great day! 🙂
Are your exhausts approved for road circulation in Italy too?
No sorry. 😞

This is our machine that we purchased from Entech Engineering. We do not manufacture or supply the machine or tooling.

Is there a spark arrestor in the muffler?
No there is not, sorry.
Hi, do you fit the exhaust ? Instructions?
We did fit this one. We offer a fitting service in house (at a charge) for any exhaust and bike we supply for. This Africa Twin is probably one of the easiest to fit an exhaust to. If you buy for delivery direct then full fitting instructions are included in the package. 👍🏻

Bonjour j'ai un Africa twin 1100 de 2021. J'aimerais savoir la différence en les 2 longueur !!! . Des photos serait les bienvenus 😊. Cordialement Franck.
Good morning Franck. Obviously the Midi 400mm is longer than the Mini 350mm by 50mm. This is for aesthetics and mainly for you to choose which you prefer. The Mini is the louder of the 2 sizes however the Midi has a deeper tone. Both sound deeper and a little louder than the OEM silencer whilst being UK road legal with the db killer fitted. There are many images here showing different options fitted to the CRF1100 models - www.fuelexhausts.com/gallery/honda/crf1100l-africa-twin-2020 Please note our exhausts are not EU Approved. Hope this helps. :-)

@@FuelExhaustsLtd thanks for getting back to me. Going to use your vid to walk myself through the repack as most shops around me only want to do quick turn around jobs like brakes, tires, carb synch, etc.... I've never done a muffler repack so..... and mine is carbon so have to be extra careful I guess
@@Woods_Hiker No they are not the same diameter. We use a 4.1mm drill bit. We have a repacking kit here - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370902348307?hash=item565b80b213:g:EI0AAOSwAL9UiYvg. Getting my bike in Jul. Getting this exhaust 3 days later. Very nice and the price is really good when compared with other brands. Thanks.
Link of the hand guard?
You would need to ask @captainpugwashrides3799 - it is his bike :-)
Man, I really love your workshop ❤ I was wondering, I'd like to decat my current bike (Duke 390), it has no db killer in at the moment (Akra slipon). But past experiences with decatting bikes learned me it get's quite a lot louder. So the idea was to decat but to go use a db killer instead to mute the sound a little... Not sure if this is logical, if I undo the extra airflow created by removing the cat by adding a db killer. But after searching around a bit there's so many choice in types of db killers, what type would be a smart choice in means of good airflow without getting a too loud exhaust ?
Thank you. We love it too! 🙂 Removing the cat always makes the bike much louder and running it with an aftermarket exhaust adds to that. A decibel killer would take the edge off but I don't think it would make a massive difference. That said, it will vary from bike to bike and also depend on the exhaust fitted. There is no perfect combination, you would just have to buy one and try it. ;-)
@@FuelExhaustsLtd That's at least a really honest answer 🙏 And it's an Akrapovic slipon, really short. Personally I think it looks cool but it's not a really good silencer. Without db killer it's almost as loud as my ktm 250f mx bike with a HGS exhaust, the latter is quite a bit longer and seems to work a lot better. Think I'm going to try to find a better silencer for my little Duke, or just not decat ;)
@@wernerxldata which Duke 390 model year? We do manufacture exhausts for many KTM Dukes, see here - www.fuelexhausts.com/exhausts/bike-and-range/ktm.
Is that model the Diablo?
That is the Stealth. Basically it is the Diablo but all the media blasted stainless parts are now black ceramic coated.
Beautiful! Is that road legal in Europe with the db killer in?
@@Mr450pro UK road legal only.
@@FuelExhaustsLtd You need to make a eu/E marked Stealth exhaust. I would buy in a heartbeat. I know others would to.
Nice video, love the craftsmanship I was wondering, do you also sell the metal layer of the packing material you used in the video ? Seems to me that will prevent prematurely blowing out of the actual packing material ?
Thank you. No sorry, we don't. I do believe you can buy it online though. It is called 'stainless steel wire wool'. And yes it will be beneficial for the longevity of your exhaust if fitted. (y)

3:40 to find out it sounds crap (IMO), especially when with baffle in (and I’m not wanting to be anti-social).
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, the exhausts never sound quite as good as they do when you are stood next to the bike. Maybe from your comments though, you should stick with the OEM silencer. ;-)
