Honda Africa Twin CRF1100L Exhaust Link Pipe Manufacture - Fuel Exhausts - Made in Britain!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 лип 2024
- Part of our Fuel Friday series, this video details how we manufacture our link pipe for the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin exhaust system. The link pipe is the same for all CRF1100L model variants.
We have been manufacturing exhausts for motorcycles for over 20 years. We practice good old fashioned engineering here, sometimes by choice and sometimes because we have no other option! Take the link pipe for this Africa Twin, other than making a longer link pipe (which would look odd), there was no other way for us to manufacture it appropriately, other than using cut sections. The way we have made it ensures it sits neatly behind the OEM guard.
We originally made the pattern for 1100 model the week before Christmas 2020 and in February 2021, the exhaust was available to purchase online. This is a massively popular model and we have sold many over the last 18 months.
UA-camrs Richy Vida and Mr Fish both have one of our motorcycle exhausts fitted to their Africa Twin bikes, check them out in the links below...

What do you think of all the detail that goes into making this link pipe?
Mate, your attention to detail is above and beyond. I've missed your Fuel Friday vids but their rarity makes them all the more impressive. Love the jigs, love the welder rotator, love the welds. Mind that former looks a bit dodgy. Wouldn't like to get my finger caught in that thing.
Tops marks Damien 👍
@@575ban haha yes you do need to watch those fingers! Glad to hear you liked the video. ;-)
Proper I would say! Do your cans have heat shields for plastic panniers?
@@MagicAyrtonforever no but as our exhausts tend to be a lot smaller than the OEM silencer, they are not needed. 😜
You can see the precision, passion and pride in your work....... job well done!! 2016 AT
Thank you! It’s a lot was it on the CRF1000 models, no link pipe needed!! 🤣
Really love videos like this, shows just how much work goes into each exhaust
Glad you enjoyed it guys! :-)
Happy to see your new video . Please make a video for presentation of your models .Thx
Thank you. OK no problem. We have added it to our list. We will hopefully do this within the next 4 weeks or so. :-)
Brilliant video. Have heard great things about Fuel Exhausts. Picking up my Africa Twin next month and this will be my first purchase...just have to choose which one to go for 😂
Ace! Here for advice if you need any. Just give us a call on 01539 738333. 🙂
Absolutely fascinating.
Glad you enjoyed it!! 🏍💨🇬🇧
Great to watch Quality craftsmanship 👍
Thank you :-)
Great job D 👍👍👍
Thanks Neil! ;-)
Very nice, I need one for my 2016 AT.
Plenty of choice here - www.fuelexhausts.com/exhausts/bike-and-range/honda/crf1000l-africa-twin-2015.
Great craftmanship, nice detailed video and good looking workshop. Good job mate!
Thank you!! 👍🏻
I really appreciate this video. Could you explain the difference in the midi and mini, other than length? I may have missed the explanation.
Thank you! I don't think we mention the exhaust can sleeve length in this video as it is about the link pipe however the shorter / smaller the exhaust, the louder it is. So the Mini will be a tiny bit louder than a Midi on this bike model. We are only talking a few decibels of difference. 🙂Hope that helps.
Awesome how much effort goes into creating this neat and tidy link pipe. I've just bought an 1100 AT and will be looking at these shortly. Do you have any plans on having a full system eliminating the CAT?
Thanks for the appreciation. Unfortunately we do not manufacture full systems, sorry.
When comparing the 35MM to the 40MM can, which has the deeper tone please? I presume they both are loud enough without the removable DB killer.
There isn't a massive amount of sound difference between the 350mm Mini and 400mm Midi (a few decibels) however the smaller / shorter the exhaust, the louder it is. So a Mini will always be a bit louder than a Midi. The tone is deeper on the Mini. If you haven't already done so, it would be beneficial to watch UA-camrs @MrFish and @RichyVida's videos as they both have our exhausts fitted to their CRF1100 Africa Twin models. Mr Fish had a 400mm F1R Road on his first 1100 but now has a 350mm Stealth. Richy has always had the 350mm Diablo. Between them, there will be plenty of videos for you to hear which length you prefer. Baffle / db killer removed and then the sound is really opened up and a lot louder. 🙂
@@FuelExhaustsLtd Tks for the detailed reply. Yes I'm a subscriber to their channels and have checked out videos previously. Just a last question. Am I correct to presume one can remove db killers on both mini and midi? Appreciate your customer care. Tks
@@DaveDayve yes all our exhaust ranges (in both available sleeve lengths) for the CRF1100 models are supplied complete with removable baffle. See here for the process - ua-cam.com/video/W12UzD8_KCs/v-deo.html.
where can i find this material in Portugal? Can i order it? Thank you Luís
What material do you mean? If you mean the exhaust kit with the link pipe, then you can view options here - www.fuelexhausts.com/exhausts/bike-and-range/honda/crf1100l-africa-twin-2020. We do not sell our link pipes separately.
@@FuelExhaustsLtd ok Thank you
Are your exhausts approved for road circulation in Italy too?
No sorry. 😞
