The first Replacements Lp, Sorry Ma, Forgot to Take Out the Trash and the next EP, Stink are about the only Replacements albums I can get into. They changed from their older sound. I live just outside of Minneapolis and see the Let It Be house often. Weston does a killer cover of She Don't Know. Check it out. Its on Splitsville. Great list. I was jamming many of those back in the day.

Silent Majority is a hammer album.

Great picks. My first 3 tapes I bought as a kid in 84 was AC/DC - Back In Black, Twisted Sister - Stay Hungry and Def Leppard - Pyromania. I'm still trying to get all of AC/DC albums on vinyl. I've got about 6 more to go. My top 5 would probably be your exact list, to be honest. RIP Bon.

I won't lie. I was born in 70. Bon for me is the man. But to this day, there has never been a better replacement of a front man than Brian Johnson. Some would say Sammy Van Halen. But the album For Those About To Rock.... I'll say say it was all good in the era of 80's when glam came in AGAIN was wrong. So sure, those and future works are good. My favorite is Dirty Deeds. 74 ep Jailbreak. Highway. But controversially I'll say Fly On The Wall was excellent!!!!

I recently bought Free Design's 1970 album Sing for Very Important People. I think it pairs well with Black Sabbath's 1970 debut. Many people probably don't consider Free Design to be a dark or heavy band, but just check out the cover of the album. It's a crying clown with Kruegeresque fingers drawn by a deranged child. I think it's as creepy as the Black Sabbath cover. Now for the songs. Every time I listen to Free Design's version of the Sesame Street theme, I throw up the devil horns. It's worth noting that Ozzy also took inspiration from the Street. I'm sure you're familiar with his song "C Is for Cocaine," with its lyrics, "C is for cocaine / Is good enough for me / Though I once snorted ants / For a Crüe called Mötley." The song title "Scarlet Tree" is clearly a reference to Satan. "Love You," the band's most popular song, has the subliminal message, "I love Lucy's fur," which, whether said fast or slow, is obscene. "Kites are Fun," the band's biggest hit, has the subliminal message, "Drugs are fun. Drop LSD. Drop a baby on its head." The album is full of messages like that for the attentive listener to pick up on. I picked up a first press of the album for $25 on eBay. Not a bad price. The vinyl was NM and the jacket was VG. I could see that the cover was a cutout. That's one of the advantages of buying from eBay over Discogs. I think the person who sold you the Queen single should've mentioned the black permanent marker. The median price on Discogs for the Free Design album is $38.50. That's much easier on the wallet than a NM Sabbath first press. Frankly, it's a steal . . . though it may steal your soul. Thanks for reading. Stay sick.

I still have the same CD I bought in 1992 a couple of months after it came out. Almost completely worn out inoperable. A friend of mine introduced it to me one day when he said something along the lines of "There's this new band, you're going to LOVE this." I thought ok, just going to listen to it to make him happy. No idea that what I was about to listen to was going to be one of my all time favorite go to hard rock albums that I would repeatedly listen to ad nauseum over the next 30 plus years on and off, no joke or exaggeration at all. Especially during misrable college and employment situations. Pure misery. That album fits right in with GNR's AFD, Metallica's MOP and Black album, Skid Row STTG, Pantera's Vulgar, Alice in Chains "Dirt" just to name a VERY small few of the rock/metal genres. There are many concert regrets in my life of bands or solo artists that I did not see or only saw one once. LSD is one of those as I never saw them ever in concert even one time. LSD had something, some intangible quality that I secretly thank God was recorded both on audio with their Silent Majority album and of course whatever concert video exists. I sincerely apologize for the ramble. Music and especially hard rock/metal got me through things that no amount of money would be enough incentive to go back and repeat.

I'm a big CD guy, and I wish the Smoking Pope albums would get deluxe CD reissues. Also the Marvelous 3, another Real Gone vinyl exclusive, no CD.

I ordered that Sabbath boxset. It should be coming any day now. I've heard the mixes sound fantastic. I also just picked up the Porterhouse Records repressing of ALL - Pummel. Sounds great. Highly recommended. The Riot Fest line up is awesome. There's like 30 bands I wanna see. Check out my page for lots of cool RF videos I filmed. I've been to 5 or 6. Great stuff man.

That 1978 Sears catalog took me back! Shogun Warriors and Star Wars was all the rage that year. I brought that whole book with me and showed Santa exactly what i wanted! Love the vids! 👍

Growing up in the 70s and 80s, my 2 brothers and I had every Star Wars figure, ship and base. We ended up moving from California to Minnesota in 84 and my parents sold them all at a garage sale. Broke my little heart. I remember flushing the radar dish off the Millennium Falcon (my brothers) down the toilet. Hahaha. When we got to Minnesota, we started a Transformers collection. Had them all too. Great stuff. What's your Ebay store? I'd buy some of this stuff. Go North Stars!

Dude ICP is underrated as hell. Go listen to the Great Milenko album (start on track 3, no need for the intros). If you get the theatrics of Kiss or Rob Zombie, it's the same thing but rap.

Bought this when it came out and it was definitely ahead of its time! I would play it for people and they would trip! Still have the cassette in an air conditioned storage. Definitely need to dig my old collection out! Agree with the host about the number of songs on the album. Had four excellent songs for sure and about four more that were decent
