Wood turning Olive wood My first time turning Olive
Hello, Thanks for tuning in,
In this video I will be turning Olive,
This is my first time ever turning Olive wood,
It was some pretty cool stuff and really rough on my chisels I found out, had to sharpen quite a bit turning this piece, this piece originally was a long narrow piece, I crossed cut it in half then ripped it through the table saw and glued it back together to get a decent diameter to turn something out of it.
I hope you enjoy the video.

Hello Thanks for tuning in, in this video I will be turning some Oak, this was a chunk of firewood, every time I started to toss it into the wood stove I just couldn’t do it, and the reason I was going to burn it was because the cracks just looked too bad to turn and I was afraid the piece would break apart and just didn’t want to risk it, but anyway I decided just to turn the outside and see h...

Did a video Timelapse of the April 8 2024 eclipse, Was a little bit cloudy but actually it made it to where we could look at it at times without the glasses which was pretty cool, when it wasn’t to bright, the clouds toned the brightness down at times, also made it to where the camera could focus on it better also. We were at the 80 to 85 percent coverage, 7 years ago we had the total coverage,...

Masterful. I would like the plate either way (with or without the charcoal) but I think I like it with better just because it gives it a worn or used vibe. I love how your videos (this one in particular) give the proper balance of instruction and inspiration for me to get out into the shop and make something. You are teaching me so much more than just woodturning. (how to practice peace) I am grateful .

Howdy Gary! This magnolia came 2 hours south from where I live, near the Atlanta area, my friend Paul has a place here in town and lives there and travels back and forth, my brother tells Paul just yesterday, that the magnolia he has seen was a lighter color, and they was talking about just that of they guessed it’s just where the tree grew, it’s my first I ever saw it though, but anyway he bought some more so I will now get to try some without the charcoal dust 😁 Take care buddy 🤝

But that is based on the Oklahoma Red Bud we planted a few years ago. It is not supposed to get real big but the leaves are sure looking pretty.
