Very interesting. Some trying to eat the bobber. The distance between the egg and sinker was about 6 inches or so. Still, fish appear to be aiming to eat the egg. This video makes me wonder if a natural drift may or may not be necessary. Thank you very much.

They are fun to catch and great to eat. And with very few people fishing for them, you usually don't have much competition on the waters. Love this sport.

I have been catching topwater walleyes in Tennessee since 1998. It has ruined all other fishing for me. The absolute most fun fishing anyone can do. We catch them at night during the alewife spawn from March thru July. I have several TikTok’s of success.

This is an interesting video for-sure, I generally fish close to bottom especially when it’s clear but the old twitch to get a reaction strike does seem to work even with a bead or bag.. cool that you guys actually got that on film. I wonder about trying that little drop shot method when fishing heavy timber, may have to bring a smaller drop shot rod then my float rod next time I fish tribs and give it a try.

I thought our dnr in mich has actually used oregon and washington eggs for their plants. The salmon are salmon i hope. I mean the cohos and kings started directly from pacific run fish. They were planted to help solve the alewife overpopulation, and pr I vide a fishery at the same time. Also, dont discount hardware for rainbows. Ive fish hardware and caught the only or among the minority of fish while next to the drifters. I just like making them strike a spinner.

Under spins are crappie killers

That has to be the most interesting video i have ever seen about crappie. I used to swim with them as a kid. They will bite a mole on you body for sure. Guess they think its a tick. Now that i try to catch them, i am absolutely terrible. I remember diving deep and feeling where the water was warm and cold they would hang out and just float around being lazy. I wished i would have wanted to catch them then. I was more into water skiing. Thanks for the video. Oh yeah, they like blue diamond/ white diamond/ silver rings to. They would bite at my ring in the sand on clear water days.

Secretly enjoying? I go fishing ONLY to catch bluegill. Easy fish to catch, literally just drop a worm in the water and let them bite. NO SKILL.

Crappie kidd loves these fish they are a blast to catch and figure out.

We have a HB MEGA Live and can find lots of schools. Getting them to bite is often a problem.

Here in northeast Ohio, our best runs seems to be late fall and early spring. Sure there's enough to where you can have good fall action, but I prefer March

Somehow I doubt this is a short term genetic adaptation of entire populations. More likely it is just normal selective pressure and on removal of the pressure the same small (now) fish populations will have the old size distribution. That said, fishing is the textbook example of shifting baselines.
