Great video Rick and useful info! I'm heading to Lake James NC this Saturday and hoping to bring home a walleye or two for the grille, along with some yellow perch. IMO those two are the best tasting fresh water fish, just ahead of bluegill and crappie. Fish on brother 👍
Not much out there for shore fishman on walleye. Every video is always on a boat. I want to see these guys get walleye from the shore in july. This video was still very intresting
All my videos are filmed from shore, including all the Walleye shots. Most of the Walleye in this video were recorded from rock points and a large dock leading to deeper water. It's all about finding the right spot on any lake or river.
My favourite colour by far in stained waters! That applies to all species, including Brookies, on all baits, including flies, in at least a hundred stained lakes I've fished. If it's a highly pressured tannic cottage lake, I have finessed them with a reflective bait - like a silver flake tube, worm or minnow bait. Up to 10 years ago, Berkley used to make a 3" twister tail called a 'Smoke Grub' - looked like coke with silver flakes. It was the deadliest finesse bait for EVERYTHING I've ever used. Like all great things in fishing - they don't make it any more! There are similar things out there, but they don't measure up. If you see any in old tackle shops - BUY THEM ALL! Guess Berkley was tired of selling out and making money. LOL

I see you using a lot of white in those tannin stained waters. Have you found that to be the best color?
