      Hello and thanks for your enquiry! Although Germany does allow for dual citizenship, you will need to confirm that Shi Lanka also allows their citizens to hold a second citizenship. Good luck.

    Hi. So since it's permitted now to be a dual citizenship, is it automatic? Once you received your German passport and since you didn't give up your recent passport, is it automatic?

    • @Polaron
      @Polaron 4 дні тому

      Hi Jack, yes! It is automatic. You will not lose your current citizenship if you get German citizenship; however, this is assuming your current citizenship also allows dual citizenship. If you need any further assistance, please reach out to us at citizenship@polaron.com.au

    I got my DNA tested and was given information on where my ancestors lived on Poland. Kind of amazing. Will Poland use DNA as a way of determining eligibility of granting citizenship.

    I have very little documents for my Grandmother who I believe was born in Chotebor, Czech Republic. She was one of nine children. They all came over to the United States in early 1900's. I do not believe any of them ever went back to the Czech Republic. I also know one of her brother's was born in Jihlava, Czech Republic on September 17, 1891. They arrived in the United States on December 6, 1905.

    You said there were no changes for Germans living outside of Germany. However, up to now, one had to get permission from Germany if one wished to obtain citizenship from their host country. As you mentioned, this is a lengthy (and costly process). Will that permission no longer be necessary or do Germans living abroad still need permission from Germany if they want to obtain a second citizenship?

    • @Polaron
      @Polaron 27 днів тому

      Hello and thanks for your question! Yes, this is correct. The entire Retention certificate will be abolished in about a week from now, so you will no longer need permission from Germany to obtain a second citizenship. Czech doesn’t care you have marriage with Czech people have kids together. Even though you have money, not able to become Czech citizenship, the most important is need know high skill of Czech language.

    Czech is xenophobia country Even you have czech wife with kids. They never give you make easy to get citizenship. You have to do Czech language exam as no married people. They never give you a face you have kid with Czech people. In Hungary, if you have kid with Hungary people, they give you citizenship.. You can’t a get passport with permanent residence.. marriage doesn’t give much benefit at all exceptions you can get 3 years earlier get permanent residence. For citizenship is Czech high level of language required,since Czech language is one difficult in the world, 99% of foreigners are impossible to speak good Czech

    My mother's grandfather was born in Germany in 1866 and emigrated to the US in 1882. He became a naturalized citizen. He married my great-grandmother in 1890. She was born in the US to parents who both emigrated from Germany. (I am not sure if they ever became naturalized.) Is that enough for me to claim secondary Germany citizenship?

    • @Polaron
      @Polaron Місяць тому

      Hi, and thanks for your question! 🙂 It is unlikely that you are eligible for German citizenship through descent. Until 1914, all German citizens residing abroad were required to either travel back to Germany or register with their local German consulate at least every ten years, otherwise, they automatically lost their German citizenship. Therefore, unless your ancestors travelled back to Germany after 1904 or registered with a German consulate, they did not pass their German citizenship onto their descendants.

    • @Polaron
      @Polaron Місяць тому

      Hi Brad and thanks for your question. They simply would need to have not naturalized - the date of emigration does not determine eligibility. Please feel free to contact us at citizenship@polaron.com.au if you have any other questions!

    So if I suspect my acestors were Czechoslovakian German but my grandfather (possible Czechoslovakian citizenship) never expelled, because they never lived ther after 1920? and went to war for the allies would that be an exception?

    • @Polaron
      @Polaron Місяць тому

      Hello and thanks for your enquiry. Suppose your ancestors did not live in the territory of the present Czech Republic after 1920 - in that case, it will be necessary to determine if they ever had Czechoslovak citizenship or only Austro-Hungarian citizenship. As each citizenship case varies, please contact us at citizenship@polaron.com.au and we can do a full assessment on your case.
