      The model 3050 has bee out of production for a while now. Even the model that replaced it, the 3050i is old. The replacement models is the 5040 which run about $750/pr 3050 Pair - www.amazon.com/Acoustics-Floorstanding-Speakers-Graphite-Speaker/dp/B0CB46XSCB/ 5040 Pair - $750/pr - www.amazon.com/Acoustics-Floorstanding-Speaker-Satin-Single/dp/B0C2HWXLZ4/ Understand that while the speaker have good sounding bass, the bass doesn't go that deep. However, that makes it easier to integrated a Subwoofer at some point in the future. EMOTIVA Airmotiv T1+ - originally $899 - Now - $499/pr - emotiva.com/collections/loudspeakers/products/airmotiv-t1-loudspeakers That is a difficult call. I would be inclined to say the Emotiva simply because they are a 3-Way speaker with a considerably higher original price. But I've not heard them. Also, I find it hard to resist a bargain.

      That is nearly impossible to answer since I don't know the size of your room and your other equipment. The 3050 are a larger speakers, need some space around them, and will have pretty good bass, but the Concept 20 are very clear speakers but smaller and with less bass. Depending on the room size, the Concept 20 with a good Subwoofer could be the better choice. But that comes with problems of its own. Really, what ever you choose will be fine, but you have to suit what you choose to your budget, circumstances, and other equipment.

      The Wharfedale Speakers originally sold for about US$1,000/pr. Subsequent generations sold for about $1,500/pr. I'm not sure they have an equivalent 8" model in the current line up though. The nearest equivalent in the current Diamond series would be the Diamond 12.4 which have TWO 6.5" Bass drivers each instead of TWO 8". Current price on the Diamond 12.4 is about US1,300/pr. The previous version, Diamond 11.5 did have 2x8" models and they sold for about $1,500/pr.

    Good afternoon. My congratulations for the video. I have a pair of wharfedale 9.6 speakers in my house, which I bought 6 days ago and are still being tested. In my opinion it has a fabulous sound and a pleasant and melodious sound stage, but they only shine with amplifiers with power and a lot of strength. But the reason for writing, I went to find on your channel comparison. Here on this side, I can't get an idea of the sound stage between the wharfedale 9.6 and the Q Acoustc 3050 to do justice to my ears. Only the Lord will be able to give his very sincere opinion based on the wiretaps he made in his office to note the differences in performance between the wharfedale 9.6 and Q Acoustc 3050. I am interested in buying Q Acoustc 3050 because they speak very well of them. My question is ... Based on the bugging in your living room, do you think it pays to sell the wharfedale 9.6 and exchange for the purchase of the Q Acoustc 3050, or do the two remain in equal sound and performance? If they are different, which one do you think is superior and in your opinion, which one would you decide to stay at your home? Can wharfedale be good or better with Q acoustc 3050, or do they fall far short of quality when they are already outdated? Greetings from portugal and a thank you for the feedbaak if you want to return it.

    • @blueboyblue

      > _"do you think it pays to sell the wharfedale 9.6 and exchange for the purchase of the Q Acoustc 3050, or do the two remain in equal sound and performance?"_ I don't think the W-9.6 and the Q-A 3050 are in the same price class. The Wharfedale cost considerably more money, and have a more refined sound, though the Q-A 3050 still sounds good. The Wharfedale have 2x8" (200mm) bass drivers and the Q-A 3050 have 2x6.5" (165mm) bass drivers. So while I liked the Q-A 3050, I would not trade my Wharfedale for them. However, only you can know what you like. You have to decide based on your Budget, and the size of your room, and your personal taste. But for myself, I would prefer the Wharfedale in my room. My room is about 16ft wide (~5m) but it is open floorplan and is 35ft (10.7m) long, that gives me lots of space for the Wharfedale Speakers. So, the size of the room will be a consideration. Both are good speakers, but I think the Wharfedale are better quality and I like the sound. Were I to get rid of my Wharfedale it would be for speakers in the $4,000/pr to $6,000/pr range (£3300 to £4900). Still the ultimate decision is based on your taste and your circumstances.

      @@blueboyblue Excellent answer! I don't really want to sell the wharfedale 9.6 until I'm sure I find the best one! Here in Portugal, we don't have physical stores to compare Q Acostics 3030 to listen to and other brands. The economic crisis caused this market to close. I know that Q ACOUSTIC are highly praised, but after seeing your opinion, I changed my mind because I know that it is not an opinion based on commercial ideas and purposes. Sometimes I doubt the opinions of what-hifi and other magazines. I must commend your very sincere opinion about wharfedale and Q acoustic. By the way, what do you think the top speakers would be for me to rise to an audiophile level? I know that there are several brands, including B&W, tannoy, JBL, QUAD, JM Focal, Proac and many more. Do you know of a model or brand that I can buy on the used ebay site that is superior to wharfedale 9.6?

    Hi Steve, I'm considering getting these for my living room in order to improve the TV sound. I'll be starting with a 2.1 config and maybe in the future, I might (or maybe not) go 4.1. Which AV receiver would you recommend me getting? The budget would be approx. 300€ but I'll be getting a second-hand one to make the most out of it. A slim one would be preferable cuz space is tight but don't wanna compromise audio quality so I wouldn't mind going for a bulkier machine as long as it makes a considerable difference. Could also stick to a stereo amp and forget the rears as long as it's worth it sound wise. In that case which stereo amp would you recommend me, taking into account that I'll be adding a sub and I'll be connecting it to a Samsung telly via optical? Stay safe ;)

    • @blueboyblue
      @blueboyblue 5 років тому

      You might want to check the rated Sensitivity on the Speaker, as it approaches 90db or higher, the more efficient it is and the easier it is to drive with a lower powered Amp. But generally I don't see a problem with Tube or Solid State.

    I got the diamond 9.6. It sounds superb. Mid and highs are fantastic. My old speakers are Tannoy Mercury M4. This diamond 9.6 is heaps better. I was eyeing the Tannoy XT8F until I saw a 9.6 selling 6 times cheaper. I wonder how is it better than the 9.6.😊

    • @becin2107

      I have both - brand new XT8F's and second hand Diamonds 9.6. I paid 750 GBP (it was a bargain price at Peter Tyson) for Tannoys and around 120 pounds fo Diamonds, and I think I have overpaid in the second case. Muddy, muffled, flat (bas wise) sound, lacking dynamics from Wharfedale. I love the looks of these speakers but sound is awful in my opinion. Revolution XT8F is in a completely different league. Bass is better, treble is better, mids are better, imaging is much better. And the dynamics - it is better also. I run both pairs with Yamaha A-S 1100. Honestly - I think that Diamonds 9.1 are way better than 9.6.

    I listenned to this and the Q3050 a few times on my sony 🎧 . I may not be using the right words to describe this. I feel the vocals in the 9.6 are more forward and slightly piercing at times. For instance, when the singer raises his voice singing "my heart", the sound is ear piercing. And in Q3050, I can hear him raise his voice but it is not ear piercing. Do you get it? Why is it like that?

    • @blueboyblue

      UA-cam videos emphasize the Mid/High and de-emphasize Bass, so perhaps that is what you are hearing. Both are actually pretty mellow speakers. Not lacking in Mid/High, but not as emphasized as UA-cam videos make them seem.

      The Q-Acoustic 3050 or 3050i have a bit more Mid/High but less Bass Depth than the Diamond 9.6. I like the Diamond 9.6 for music, but for movies with more dialog, I would prefer a bit more Mid/High. Not familiar with that specific Rotel Amp (1552), but it should be fine. Rotel makes pretty decent amps.

      As I previously mentioned, in person it is not too bright and Rotel are certainly not bright amps. But in the video UA-cam tends to favor Mid/High and to soften the bass. So, mostly you are hearing a general characteristic of the audio of UA-cam video.

    How much sound difference between diamond 9.5 and 9.6?8.4 and 9.5 difference is very big but I listened on youtube 9.5 and 9.6 sounds very close to me..Like same color and same quality...Whats ur opinion?

    • @blueboyblue
      @blueboyblue 5 років тому

      I think it all depends on the size of the room. While my room may not be very wide, but it is 35ft long, so I have plenty of space for the speakers to play into. I suspect the general sound signature is going to be the same on the various models, but the bigger and more bass drivers, the more impact and sense of bass you will find. Keep in mind, that many people have the 10.1 and the 10.2 (9.1/9.2) bookshelf speakers and are overjoyed with them. So, you get speakers in proportion to you room and your particular needs.

Unless I am mistaken, the Diamond 9.5 have 2x6.5" bass drivers and the 9.5 have 2x8" bass drivers. For most people in most rooms 2x6.5" is more than enough. _" ...perhaps one of the best video review of Concept 20."_ The secret to getting good sound, it to not record with the volume too high. If you raise the volume too high it starts to distort the Camera microphone and to engage the automatic volume control for the Camera electronics. Around 75db seems to be about as high as you can go without creating distortion in the recording.
