To some extent it depends on you and the space you are in, and how suitable the speakers are to the space. As you can see from the link above, the Diamond 10.6 originally sold for about US$1000/pair. The 3050 are available for about $600/pair and the newer 3050i are available for about $800/pair. You really can't go wrong either way. The Diamond 10.6 originally cost more, but now they cost less. Not familiar with that specific Rotel Amp (1552), but it should be fine. Rotel makes pretty decent amps.

izmir Travesti - - The _Diamond 9.6_ are no longer made, but you might be able to get them used. The nearly current version would be the _Diamond 250_ which are currently on close-out for about $1300/pr from Music Direct. The newest replacement would be the _Diamond 11. 5_ which are about $1700. The older Q Acoustic 3050 are $600/pr on Amazon. The newer 3050i are about $800/pr on Amazon. That's quite a price difference. The Q Acoustic 3050/3050i have 2x6.5" bass driver and modest bass depth, rated at about 44hz, but the bass does sound good on the 3050. Very clear and balanced speakers, and the 44hz bass rating is not all bad, it would make it easy to add a Subwoofer to a Stereo system that does NOT have Bass Management. As to my personal preference, I like my Wharfedale Diamond 9.6 as they have larger bass drivers (2x8" each) and deeper bass at about 32hz. Also keep in mind that there are 2x6.5" version of the Diamond 200 Series and the newer Diamond 11 Series. These are going to be down closer to $1000/pr from Music Direct. That is nearly impossible to answer since I don't know the size of your room and your other equipment. The 3050 are a larger speakers, need some space around them, and will have pretty good bass, but the Concept 20 are very clear speakers but smaller and with less bass. Depending on the room size, the Concept 20 with a good Subwoofer could be the better choice. But that comes with problems of its own. Really, what ever you choose will be fine, but you have to suit what you choose to your budget, circumstances, and other equipment.
The Marantz PM6006 is a very good 45w/ch amp, and should have no trouble driving these or just about any other speaker. Marantz hits a high standard of quality, but Yamaha provides better value. Either one should be no problem. For most of my life I drove large 12" speakers with a 45w/ch Pioneer amp. So I don't see a problem. The speakers are very well balanced. They do have good Mid/High presence, but do so without being overly bright. They are a smooth speaker that does not sacrifice fine detail.
Yes, it the tone was set to ZERO. Because my Camera lacks a bit of bass, I would have boosted it a bit, and it would have sounded more natural. That is, it would have sounded a bit more like what I was hearing in the room. All the speaker have better bass than my camera allows for. However, I thought that was cheating, especially since this was a review. On a few videos, like this one, I believe I boosted the bass control to about 2 o'clock, so even when I boost, I don't boost that much. - - - ua-cam.com/video/ALpUv6OWT-0/v-deo.html - - - this probably sounds a bit closer to what I heard in the room.
Thanks! Those 3050 are definately on my list. Would like the concept 40 in a 6.5" version but they don't make this. The concept 500 will be out my budget!
The bass is very good on the 3050, even though the specs aren't that low. I could feel it in the room, but it still manages to stay controlled and clean.
Many thanks sir for the review, i own 3020, 3090c and 3010.. now i'm thnking to own 3050 for Front for movie, hometheater set maybe atmos setup.. Hope you can advice me to decide either im buying 3050 or Klipsch RP..
I must not be getting notices when people reply to my videos. If I had I wold have answered this post long ago. The QA 3050 are very nice speakers as you can hear. But the new Klipsch RP-Series are also very good speakers. They have a Rubberized Horn that really cuts down on unwanted resonance. The Klipsch RP-Series are some of the best affordable speakers that Klipsch has made in a long time.
@@blueboyblue yes indeed I am not criticise them just expressing what I can hear and of course YT is just the messanger but from experience I can tell that it is not my taste... Nice set of speakers but compare to others shown also on YT sounds bit limited in bass sorry... I own bookshelf Epos 12.2 paired with amp Creek Evo supported by Velodine subwoofer that is maybe why I am being so picky... Sorry ❤️
The ZENSOR 7 are very nice speakers, and currently on deep discounts in the UK. Though that many not help you. Which to choose is difficult, but... there is no wrong choice, both are good speakers. I might lean a bit more toward the Zensor 7 because of the bigger bass drivers, but whether that is an advantage will depend on the room they are in. I think it gets down to circumstances and budget, and those are things that only you can know. Again, these are both good speakers, so don't agonize over it too much. You really can't go wrong.
@@blueboyblue Well thanks for the reply but I am not in the UK and in Turkey both have same (or similar) price tag and I dont have any demo option unfortunately. some people say zensor 7 is better but some disagree. as far as listen from videos 3050s have higher midrange especially vocals whereas in zensor7s high frequencies are a bit higher. similar to your comparison in whaferdale and 3050. my fear with 3050 is the are these high db mids disturbed in long listening sessions after some time.
@@zarrath35 - - UA-cam video tend to emphasize Mid/High and soften the Bass. That is just the nature of the beast. The Dali Zensor series are extremely successful. The Dali probably have a bit more highs. But always clear and crisp. The 3050 have very nice Mid/High, perhaps better than the Wharfedale, but always very smooth and well balanced. In my room there is no listening fatigue. Which is also true of the Wharfedale. Here is a video of the Dali Zensor 7, you can't believe this 100% because we don't know the setting on the amp, but they are generally pretty clear and crisp - ua-cam.com/video/zbErrVYc-tI/v-deo.html This same UA-camr has other ZENSOR 7 video, and there are many on UA-cam, though you have to be careful not to read too much into them. Some are recorded very badly. ua-cam.com/users/Patryks26search?query=zensor+7 The Dali Zensor are a bit crisp, but not as much as the Dali Ikon or the new Opticon which has a Super-Tweeter. But they are also impressively clear. I can appreciate the position you are in, but I will add that I order most of my Stereo Systems Mail-Order. Out of perhaps 6 or 7 amps, I only bought one in the store. The saving grace is that all these speakers are good, and if you make the wrong choice, the worst that happens is you end up with a good pair of speakers. Don't fret about it too much. The Dali Zensor 7 are a little larger and perhaps a bit brighter, but also stunningly clear. The Q Acoustic 3050 are very well balanced with good Mid/High, but not over bearing. Very well balanced. There are many other factors to consider. I assume most Turkish houses are Stone/Brick/Mortar with hard Stucco inside walls. That's not acoustically the best. So, if this is your case, I would get he mellower speaker. If the room is more softly furnished with a minimum of echo, then the slight brighter speakers are probably fine. The best I can tell you is that they are both good speakers. It is more a matter of suiting the speakers to your room and circumstances. There could be a better choice, but really there is no wrong choice.
@@blueboyblue Wow thanks for the detailed reply. I watched/listened the zensor 7 videos in youtube, some are well recorded and sound very good and same is also true for 3050s. both are very clear speakers indeed but I did not know that youtube video enhances mids and highs, so I need the keep in mind that mids are higher in the videos compared with live listening. I watched the video playing Peter White with zensor 7 and highs a bit crispier than 3050. Is it possible to record video of the same song with your 3050s (from any streaming service would be fine) ? that would be really helpful to me. I need to compare both with same song actually. Another question would be the low volume performance. Since I am living in an apartment, I cannot go very loud actually most of the time volume dial dont go further 10-11 o'clock position in my NAD 325 amp. at the low volumes bass /low frequencies are hard to feel and hear. Is is true for this speaker as well. and if it is true then, are mids becoming dominant ? For the construction you are correct, walls are built with mortar and covered with plaster from inside. But in my living room (which is about 25 m2) there are not so much furniture. Thanks
I found that if I go over 80db, the sound becomes worse because it starts to overload the Camera Microphone. Better to keep things to a more moderate level, which I why I mentioned the dB Measurement. The Loudness Measurements were taken from about 10 feet away from the speaker.
Yes, clear and detailed so voice and dialog come through, and good bass for action scenes. There are other speakers that might be a little stronger in the Mid/High, but they are going to be weaker in bass, still very good in the bass, but weaker relative to the 3050.
hi! i read somewhere that the 3050s dont have good treble. i am leaning between concept 40, 3050, diamond 240 and zensor 5. the amp will be marantz pm6006. thank you!
It depends on what you mean by good Treble. You can hear the video, it doesn't seem lacking to me. There are speakers that are more dominant in the Mid/High, which can be good for Movies, but a bit overbearing for Music. Also as I explain at the beginning of the video, the speaker are a little sensitive to placement. I had them placed in such a fashion that the bass caused the Mid/High to sound muddied and recessed. Proper placement cleaned that right up. I can't control how other people place their speakers, but I can tell you that these sound very nice. All the speakers you listed are very good. Myself I would be more prone to go with the Diamond 240, which have 2x6.5" Bass Driver and a Midrange. They also have deeper bass than the 3050, though only about 5hz deeper (from memory). The deeper bass makes it a bit harder to integrate a Subwoofer into a Stereo system. But, with deeper bass, you are less likely to need a Subwoofer. Of course with an AV Receiver, this aspect isn't a problem.
No. One problem with speakers that over-emphasize the bass, is that it become flabby and droning, and tends to swamp out the Mid/High. These 3050 speakers, while the do have bass emphasis, it is not enough to cause a problem with the sound. Good bass, strong, but controlled and does not effect the Mid/High ... assuming you place them reasonably.
+clsman89 - - The space you see is about 17ft x 16ft, but this is an open floor-plan which includes living room, kitchen, and entryway for overall dimensions of 17ft x 36ft, so the speakers have plenty of room to unload into. The camera is roughly 10ft from the speakers. The Camera is an Canon SX30 which records very good sound, but I'm disappointed with the Still Picture and Video quality.
If you really want these speakers to shine use the port plug and add a subwoofer. The midrange improves drastically.
I think you are probably right. That's why I emphasized that these speakers would work very well with a Subwoofer.

hi! nice videos! do they tend to get bright? do you think marantz pm6006 will do enough? thanks
Oh and no they are not bright. They have good Mid/High presence, but not remotely in excess. They are very smooth and easy to listen to.
did you have the EQ flats on your rotel? I'm thinking of buying a pair of these to pair with the Peachtree nova150 (which has no EQ)
Yes, it the tone was set to ZERO. Because my Camera lacks a bit of bass, I would have boosted it a bit, and it would have sounded more natural. That is, it would have sounded a bit more like what I was hearing in the
room.
Nice and open sound and the bass sounds bit compressed in my taste and highs to sssssish... But nice set of radiators anyway 😄
You have to understand that even at its best, UA-cam sound is compromised.
Sorry ❤️
Do you recommend this one over zensor 7 ? I am having difficulties chosing one of them
The ZENSOR 7 are very nice speakers, and currently on deep discounts in the UK.
Dali Zensor 7 - UK - www.audiovisualonline.co.uk/product/8455/dali-zensor-7-light-walnut-floorstanding-speaker-pair/ - £250 discount.
Here is a video of the Dali Zensor 7, you can't believe this 100% because we don't know the setting on the amp, but they are generally pretty clear and crisp -
ua-cam.com/video/zbErrVYc-tI/v-deo.html
This same UA-camr has other ZENSOR 7 video, and there are many on UA-cam, though you have to be careful not to read too much into them. Some are recorded very badly.
ua-cam.com/users/Patryks26search?query=zensor+7
The Dali Zensor are a bit crisp, but not as much as the Dali Ikon or the new Opticon which has a Super-Tweeter.
Thanks
Hi there. It seems like the treble is in a box.
03: 12 "Just a little over 70db average, maybe 76 or 77" How were you measuring this?
SPL (Loudness) Meter - - - www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/spl-meter_e.html
I found that if I go over 80db, the sound becomes worse because it starts to overload the Camera Microphone. Better to keep things to a more moderate level, which I why I mentioned the dB Measurement. The Loudness Measurements were taken from about 10 feet away from the speaker.
Right I have a Radio Shack Digital SPL (Sound Pressure Level) Meter.
Hey, sweet video. I was thinking of these, I have a Yamaha rxv683 av receiver, I don't know if you know it or not. Also are you running a DAC?
All music is Analog, but I used Optical Digital Audio Out of the TV to the Optical DAC. The RXV683 is an OK mid-priced AV Receiver.
@@blueboyblue ok. Thanks for your help buddy. Have a good day.
is this good for movie (home cinema)?
Yes, clear and detailed so voice and dialog come through, and good bass for action scenes. There are other speakers that might be a little stronger in the Mid/High, but they are going to be weaker in bass, still very good in the bass, but weaker relative to the 3050.
+blueboyblue thanks bro, i have a plan to get 3050 5.1 package or klipsch r-26f
hi! i read somewhere that the 3050s dont have good treble. i am leaning between concept 40, 3050, diamond 240 and zensor 5. the amp will be marantz pm6006.
Of course with an AV Receiver, this aspect isn't a problem.
is the bass overpowering in these?
How big is your room?
+clsman89 - - The space you see is about 17ft x 16ft, but this is an open floor-plan which includes living room, kitchen, and entryway for overall dimensions of 17ft x 36ft, so the speakers have plenty of room to unload into. The camera is roughly 10ft from the speakers. The Camera is an Canon SX30 which records very good sound, but I'm disappointed with the Still Picture and Video quality.
