      Was the 40 degrees C the air temp on the thermostat or surface temperature on a infrared temperature gun?

      @@Rayzer1989 surface temps up to around 45C are perfect. The 100 watt sounds like it was perfect. Their basking range is from 36-45C

    Hi there! I've had mixed advice regarding my baby beardie. I'm picking up a linear UVB light tomorrow to fix that issue. But around turning off the lights at night, I was told to keep the basking light on throughout the night but turn off the uvb. Is this right? I'm in Melbourne and the weather can be funny sometimes. Last night it dropped to 14 degrees. Would this be OK for a baby? He hides a lot and eats minimally, but we've only had him a week. Any advice?

    Thank you. I'm beginning to get all the information on bearded dragons, I'd like to surprise my adult son with a baby one for his b- day. I will continue studying beardies until I'm confident we can give it a good comfortable forever home. I have so many questions. And I'm so excited about adopting a new family member, the beardie or beardies ?? Is it better to have 1 or more for their best life ? Sending hugs from Chicago Illinois. ❤

      Definitely only house 1 bearded dragon in the enclosure. They are solitary animals and can seriously injure or kill each other. Please feel free to ask as many questions as you need and request content that you need assistance with. We are happy to help.

      @@CookiesCritters thank you so much. I'm checking out their housing and space needed, food, and the differences between male or female ( other than the obvious, lol )? I have found an excellent vet for exotics so far. I'm not sure where is best to get one, still looking into that too. I'm in USA. Do you know of any responsible breeders over here ? ❤

      @@lisaconklin5094 the best place to buy a beardie is from a breeder that has been recommended to you. There is nothing better than word of mouth. Try avoiding pet stores.

    How long do I wait to feed my dragon after bringing my baby bearded dragon home

    • @CookiesCritters
      @CookiesCritters  3 роки тому +2

      I give them 2 hours of heat to warm them up and offer them food straight away. Make sure that they will have at least 2 hours of heat after eating so that they can digest their food.
      Be persistent over the next few days to 2 weeks. They will be stressed and potentially not eating much during this time. As they settle in, their appetite will return.
