I love this. I enjoy your content !
Thanks so much! That’s really kind of you. Glad you’re enjoying the content 😄
What’s one of your favourite summer moments?
Thank you
You're welcome. I’m glad it was helpful!
Fla native, and " old guy " here. Great video. Have visited, hiked the trails at Hillsb River State Park many times over the years, since the '80s. Wonderful, peaceful slice of the wild Florida woodlands out there. Back years ago, the park rangers spoke of one particularly large and old bull gator who made this section of the river his home. They named him either Big Joe or Big George. Don't clearly recall which. Anyway, he was supposedly very massive. One day when hiking the trails there I spotted a very large gator sunning himself on the banks, that clearly looked to be at least 12 ft , maybe 13 ft long (no exaggeration). Never got a chance that day to flag down a park ranger and ask if that couldve been the same old bull gator. Regardless, there are many hundreds of gators populating that stretch of river and very possibly Big Joe wasnt the only massive bull gator making the park his home.
Thanks for watching and sharing this epic story. I'm so glad I didn't know this before heading out to paddle with gators for the first time, especially with no one else on the water with me! 🫣 I totally believe there are some huge gators in this river, especially down stream from where I paddled. It is a beautiful and peaceful area of Florida and I hope to visit it again!
❤👍
It was an incredible day on Lake Superior!
Incredibly lucky to have a calm day on Lake Superior to check out these sea cave on our 5 day expedition.
Your personality is delightfully refreshing. Almost as refreshing as that jai alai you had lol. My favorite. Anyhow, keep making cool videos. 😎
Wow, what a kind comment. Thank you so much! I loved visiting Hillsborough River State Park, gators and all 🫣! And that Jai Alai sure did taste amazing! 🍻
Thank you so much 🙏❤️
I'm glad it was helpful! 🙌🏼
Sorry I'm a topical warm water guy. Come swim with me here on Kauia.
lol I love swimming in Lake Superior! Swimming in warm salt water is pretty amazing too. 🐠
Awesome. Have fun. You guys are awesome 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks for the kind words! Always a good time out on the water 🤙🏼
I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect mount while sea kayaking with the Insta360 that allows me to use and move the camera to capture different angles. I’m all about capturing different perspectives that bring the whole adventure to life. This is a quick fix I’ve found that lets me hold the camera and still paddle freely 🙌🏼 Plus, you get those stunning water and rock views and it’s another great win for wearing your PFD! 🪨🤩🛟 You do have to be careful not to let go of the camera when transitioning it. Otherwise, say good bye 👋🏼 When not using it I have it secured to the kayak with the handle strap and carabiner. Anyone have sea kayaking mounting tips that easy allow you to use the camera and change the angle?
❤
🤙🏼
Lake Superior may be the coldest Great Lake, but in summer, it's often perfect for a swim. Over the last 25+ years, its average surface temperature has been 16°C (61°F), but this summer, it hit 19°C (66°F). [Source: NOAA] NOAA is a go-to resource for water and weather updates. Remember, everyone handles cold differently, and conditions can vary based on location and weather.
I haven’t managed to get out on my board at all this season 😓 So I’m living vicariously through you ! 💪🏻
Oh no! Is it still warm where you are? Can you still get out? If not, I'm glad I'm helping you live vicariously 🤙🏼
@@PaddleAdventurer I reckon I might have another couple of weeks before it gets too chilly…. I’m really hoping the planets align and I can get out with my buddy!
@@ArcheryAdventures I hope you do too! 🤞🏼

Great advice and amazing tip on rolling the pump inside the board and then tucking.
Thanks for watching and the kind comment. Happy adventuring!

Thanks for showing us your trip. I live in metro Detroit area and this will be on my bucket list. What time of the year you would recommend touring around lake superior? New subscriber here and i like your energy.
There is lots to see and do around Lake Superior! It's an amazing place to explore. I haven't done the US side but if you're planning to do the north shore in Canada check out these two videos: Top 18 Stops ua-cam.com/video/n4z4M0sh1TM/v-deo.htmlsi=66erOHCKw_EuZ0_s Sault Ste Marie: ua-cam.com/video/2npfyt8yydw/v-deo.htmlsi=c5cWcURlFZgXOKgm All three of these videos were filmed mid to late August. Very little bugs and the weather is warm. I went again this year around the same time and it was perfect. Just plan ahead if you go in the summer months as it's typically busier than the rest of the year. If you want fall colours you'll need to head there mid September-early October depending on the year.
I love your videos! However my oaddleboard flips upside down because of my weight when crawling on 😂
Thanks for the kind comment! Have you tried getting on from the rear? The board shouldn’t flip if you’re doing it this way. If it does then maybe the board is too small for you and you need a wider and longer board that’s more stable and has more volume.
@@PaddleAdventurer the tip had these rough handles that would hurt your skin if pulling yourself on. I think the board wasnt great indeed and I returned it for a full refund! Now I have to find abetter one next season. What is your opinion on seagods?
That doesn't sound pleasant. Glad you were able to return it. I personally haven't tested out Seagods but they look like beautiful boards and I've heard good things. See if you can test our a few boards (demos, friends, rentals, etc) before committing.
@@PaddleAdventurer Thank you for the advice!
Thanks for the video, this is a great idea to spend a weekend on such a tour👍
Thanks for watching and commenting. Highly recommend Thrive Tours!

It’s so incredible standing next to it on the water! 🥰
Бред. Человек не может сам залезть на борд и лезет в океан.
Flip rescues are used for emergencies or situations were the person has a cramp, is injured, conditions have changed etc. I have videos and tips on how to get back on your paddle board too as this is a key skill to practice before going out.
It's absolutely amazing and stunning. Thanks for taking us with you. ❤
Thanks for watching and for the kind comment. I had to go back and do the hike on a sunny day. Thanks for joining! ☀️🥾✅
You NEED to make more of these kayak vids !!!
That’s so kind of you. I’m glad you like the kayaking stuff! Have you seen the Slate Islands expedition? ua-cam.com/video/UwzhUoynz2U/v-deo.htmlsi=aQkIO6LdOZGR4wiu I also went on another 5 day trip this summer and it’s in the editing queue 🎥🙌🏼 So stay tuned!
My favorite campground ever! How are the bugs this time of year?
Nothing like camping right on Lake Superior! I was there mid August and closer to the end of August and there were next to no bugs close to the water like this. It was glorious!
What if your on a starboard like me and need least weight possible
Thanks for watching and commenting. I’m not sure what your question is. Why do you need less weight?
How deep was the water under it?
I didn’t go swimming so I’m not totally sure but I bet you could stand up just under it.
We have been watching your videos and trying out your tips for beginners. Going well, thank you.
Thanks for watching and for reaching out with the kind comment. I’m so happy to hear that! Let me know if you have any questions or are struggling with anything specific. Be safe and have fun 🤙🏼😄
Lake Superior is amazing!
Isn’t it the best? I can’t wait for my next visit!
A friend of mine and I tried on Lake Michigan today and got beat up pretty good. Didn’t even make it past the breaks. Do you teach lessons? Lol
lol I don’t but thanks for the kind words. Still learning to ride those wonky lake waves! Hope you still had fun in the white wash 🌊🤙🏼
Little Current, Manitoulin Island, paddling out was slow but then you catch a wave and wind in the middle of the channel and it brings you all the way back to shore. 🔥
Epic! Sounds like down winding! 🙌🏼
Thank you for sharing this informative video.
Thanks for watching and for your kind comment! It’s such an easy and effective way to help someone in need.
I get to do a little of this occasionally at Kowaliga Bay on Lake Martin AL, especially after a weekend of heavy motor boat traffic. There's a *convergence* of random waves that produce a series of *rogue waves* like these, big enough to carry me at a surprising distance, much faster than I could paddle. So much fun!
Whoa! Interesting the boat traffic creates so many waves that last for you to ride. Bonus for dealing with the boat traffic! Sounds like a great time! 🤙🏼
Thank you for posting this video. I have seen some terrible things due to people not wearing PFDs. Also...waders without PFDs = sink to the bottom. Sad.
Thanks for watching and for the kind comment. Absolutely. I’m all about helping people stay safe so they can keep going out and having fun!
Yes! Love this! Brilliant and so much fun to do! I learned on Lake Ontario and have since travels to Huron and Erie! Keep it up! ❤❤
Thanks so much! I'm still learning how to surf on the Great Lakes. It's tiring but so addictively fun! Do you SUP or prone surf? I have a prone longboard I've used on Lake Huron. A little trickier to catch waves.
Thanks for sharing the beauty ❤
Absolutely! It’s an incredible view and I had to go back to see it on a clear day! 🤩☀️
