    I was born and reside in Thunder Bay. Thanks for sharing so much of its glory. I sure appreciated seeing Silver Islet, under water. Wow! I did thr rec and leisure at the college and ran a woman's adventure club for 9 years, to get them out and trying new activities. I ❤ your enthusiam and personality. You made the video worthwhile to watch. You would be a blast to go adventuring with! You are certainly more tenacious than me though.

      It was a wonderful being back in Thunder Bay (I went to Lakehead University) and I had the best time exploring all the amazing things the area has to offer!
      I bet you've done some incredible things living in Thunder Bay and having run an adventure club for 9 years. I love this 🙌🏼

    As someone who lived in TBay back in the day for only a year I absolutely fell in love with that town and it’s surrounding areas! Take one step outside of town and you are in the middle of nowhere with some of the best fishing, camping, hiking, paddling etc!!! Good to see you back in the bay! 🤙

      I was in Thunder Bay in August. Getting through editing all my adventure content. Lots more to come!
      Lake Superior is amazing but it is a beast! Have you paddled any of the Great Lakes?
      Snow hasn't stayed on the ground in southern Ontario yet but it's that time of year for cold water paddling.
      Sorry to hear things froze over so quickly! What a bummer! You'll have to plan a trip or live vicariously through people online 😄

    There was a trail to the top called “ The Chimney” climbed the talus slope up to a large crack that lead to the top. It was really good but a bit treacherous. I’ve not tried the “new” trail you were on, this fall perhaps.

    • @PaddleAdventurer
      @PaddleAdventurer  3 місяці тому +1

      Yes! I remember it being The Chimney and thought I had hiked this trail before but it didn’t look familiar. Thanks for the reminder.
      I’d love to go back and The Top of the Giant again on a clear day!

    Thanks for the quick clip around Thunder Bay area, you hit a lot of the places I'm likely to go this coming summer, like, doing the exact same things almost... I sea kayak, hike, and drink beer! So this was a high-value orientation. Got anything else around the Canadian shore of Superior?

    Another great video of TB and area. Love your footage of Kakabeka Falls and the "inner falls" The inner Falls I believe was about a 5 km walk, but well worth it! When do the black flies come out? When we went to Panorama Amethyst it was swarming with black flies (July?).

    • @PaddleAdventurer
      @PaddleAdventurer  3 місяці тому +1

      Thanks so much for checking this one out too. I love being up in north western Ontario; it's magic!
      I think the black fly "season" is in and around April to July. This video was filmed mid August.

      The blue and white scarf I bought at a market in Thailand a long time ago and the green neck gaiter is from Outdoor Research purchased a few years ago.
