(Jump to 12:00 to skip me droning on and see the final result) My second large Mosquito build using the excellent Magic Scale Modelling plug and play electronics. If you are going to motorise a Mosquito kit then this HKM kit is the one to choose in my opinion, having tried the Tamiya previously. My second motorised Mosquito after the Tamiya, which I wasn’t quite happy with (my build of, not the kit which is excellent). I managed to snap both the Magic Scale Modelling supplied propeller spindles so the props aren’t very secure & are hanging by a thread, but hope to find a better solution. However, for anyone thinking about doing a motorised Mossie, I can say the HKM kit is definitely ea...

The only knock on the finish is it's not dead flat on the painted parts. Those old paints oxidized really fast. Poly S use to make this dead flat that was perfect for WW2 models.

BEWARE OF MAGIC SCALE MODELING. I HAVE PURCHASED A NUMBER OF KITS FROM THEM - ALL OF WHICH WORKED FINE. ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO I ORDERED A 1/48 SET FROM THEM (VERY EXPENSIVE) AND HAVE HAD SIX MONTHS OF BLATANT LIES AND DELAYS WITH NO PRODUCT DELIVERED. THIS MORNING I GOT YET ANOTHER "VERSION" OF WHY NO PRODUCT OR REFUND HAD BEEN OFFERED. I'M NOT SURE IF THEY ARE ACTUALLY OUT OF BUSINESS AND CONTINUE TO TAKE MONEY OR GENUINELY HAVE PRODUCT ISSUES. IN ANY EVENT...DON'T SEND THEM MONEY EXPECTING A PRODUCT.Curtis Burton

When you say the seatbelts "split" when you bent them, do you mean they split at the bend or split the long way? I know they have a paper backing that you have to take off first to give them their flexibility. Maybe that was what you were seeing? Nice job anyway

David R Lentz, Columbus, Ohio, USA (Saturday, 6 July, 2024) Well, this is clever! And your natural metal treatment (BareMetal Foil?) is exemplary! Whilst I have your attrition, has Hong Kong Models issued, or would you know if they are planning upon producing, a 1:32nd-scale kit of an earlier variant of North American’s B-25 Mitchell USAAF Medium Bomber?

David R Lentz, Columbus, Ohio, USA (Saturday, 22 June, 2024). At 0.27, your sound ceases for round 1 minute; the on-screen closed captioning abruptly stops, as well. Then again at 2:07 till 3:21. From all I have seen so far, I am quite keen to hear your explanation and description of your build, so please resolve this. At round 10:45, your video shows inside your flight deck several yellow cylinders mounted upon an interior sidewall. Another modeller on his channel criticised Hong Kong Models for the poor D-shaped half round bulges on his port-side interior wall part. Had you scratch-built yours (if so, you are seriously good!), or is that some sort of aftermarket discovery? I am looking for the rest of your playlist. I take quite a measure of delight in watching these since I cannot afford the kits (much as I would aspire to several of each for various builds; e.g., two of the Hong Kong Models Boeing B-17E/F Flying Fortress USAAF Heavy Bomber 1:32nd-scale kits, to build an -E and an -F; and of course two B-17Gs, the second with the Cheyenne tail gun arrangement,in natural metal), and all the accoutrements to build, detail, accurise, paint, etc., them. Already is yours a genuine treat!

David R Lentz, Columbus, Ohio, USA Terribly laborious techniques you have (I am bony, with small hands and fingers of little strength, so such would be truly difficult for me), though with excellent results! Round 8:22, I hear a background noise reminding me of engine noises of a big commercial jets. Is this true? Decades past, whilst at university here, I for a time had lived directly under the glide-path leading to the airport here, so I heard my share of those sounds.

David R Lentz, USA Well, this is delightfully inventive, from conceptualisation to execution. For your next project, could you give us a similar look at a Fletcher-class destroyer, though in 1:72nd-scale? It would be a bit under five feet three inches in length, which is why I suggest that ratio.

Great kit! amazing detail! one thing though, how do you figure out the order in which you paint the parts? I'd imagine for such a huge model it could be a daunting task... I'm not talking about what order is in the book, or the obvious ones, like interior first, then move on to the exterior..but for example I've seen you've built some parts of the wings like the wheel but not the propeller? how does one figure out what to paint first and then attach to the model?

My local hobby store just got one of these in stock. I JOKINGLY said, "Ah, now there's a nice kit and should be able to finish that up in a week-end, right?" LOL Seriously though, the incredible work that you put into this one truly shows what can be accomplished in the hands of a master modelling artist. I'd say you'd get more than a few museums that would LOVE to have this on display.

So Im assembling a Replica inside a game and I came across something that I DID NOT know about on the B17 and oddly enough cant seem to find anything on... Under the Radio Compartment has an area where it states they stored 3 Large G1 tanks of Oxygen. The ones behind the Pilot the BIG ONES. In looking this up I discovered it was an area used to store the cameras that the Radio Operator used. Oddly enough you cant find anything on it in google that ive seen yet and nearly all model B17 Replicas DO NOT include those Oxygen Bottles under that compartment nor do they include the compartment in their models. Also Ive been inside multiple B17s and I have not ever seen anything about under the Radio Compartment.
