Just a guy who loves talking about the stories within amazing video games.
This is a place for me to create content I love, and to shed light on Gospel themes found within video games !

Video games that feel like winter
Some video games just have a certain feel to them. These are my favorite games that feel like winter, from Outer Wilds, the From Software Souls games, indie games, and Death Stranding.

Why The Witcher 3 Left Me Disappointed
Переглядів 2,4 тис.21 день тому
I can finally say I have played The Witcher 3, and yet as much as I liked and even loved parts of the game, the overall experience was one that left me a bit disappointed with the Witcher 3. And I don't really know why that is. So I wanted to talk about my experience playing the Witcher 3 in 2024. A Fan’s Honest Critique of Star Wars Outlaws
Переглядів 3,5 тис.3 місяці тому
Star Wars Outlaws has been the target of much online hate recently, and while much of it is valid due to some of Outlaw's outdated systems like most Ubisoft games, much of it is also unwarranted. Star Wars Outlaws isn't a perfect game, but for a Star Wars Fan it is actually a really, really good time. Stellar Blade Feels Like A PS2 Game In The Best Way
Переглядів 1,4 тис.4 місяці тому
Stellar Blade is a game by Shift Up that released earlier in 2024 to critical acclaim and a few controversies. Even though I was a bit skeptical about Stellar Blade as a whole, I decided to give it a shot after seeing solid reviews. And I quickly fell in love with Stellar Blade despite its shortcomings , and Eve has cemented herself as a great protagonist. So this review/ video essay is about w...
Understanding Elden Ring's World Design
Переглядів 1,4 тис.4 місяці тому
Elden Ring is one the best open-world games, possibly ever, with From Software using their history with Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro to craft a massive world that is as intricate as a Dark Souls level. After playing Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, I felt like I had to give the game credit for its incredible use of open-world design in the most traditionally From Soft way. have a w...

23:10 I'm pretty late here but I just wanted to add that CDPR have a history of making ridiculously solid expansion stories. While Witcher 3 had a solid base game in it's own right, every TW3 player will agree Hearts of Stone and Blood Of Wine expansions are some of the best crafted stories they have played. My personal favourite being Hearts of Stone. I was expecting a similar style and complexity for Phantom Liberty to hit me head on but, my fucking goodness, CDPR threw a curveball straight on my head except it wasnt a ball, it was a whole damn Chimera tank.
My winter game is the division 1 , first time played it back during covid on december, we all can't go outside but I played with this one player daily for almost the entire December.
This kid is definitely taking the Mark of the Beast..I can guarantee he definitely took the ClotShot (CV19 vaxxx)
Your videos are incredibly thoughtful, and allow your clear love for video games shine through. You've got a new subscriber in me!
Thanks friend !
Witcher 3 is my ultimate winter game. Give it a replay every Christmas/new year.
Just Downloaded it yesterday again. Met lot of Players unexpected. Love this game. If u look at Destiny which is nearly over. Now it would be perfect time to rework it
I reallly hope Panama is in cyberpunk Orion
I just like walking everywhere and looking at stupid stuff like the trash on the ground
There is no game I have ever played that has made me feel the way cyberpunk has. I have just finished it tonight and I am crying literally it’s so amazing and surreal
Ghost of Tsushima as well is a game that feels like winter
I think I will be playing it for a few hundred hours. I'm just under twenty hours into the game, and I'm thinking about playing it all the time. I haven't done much in the way of story missions. I'm just doing whatever sounds fun or beneficial to my character. Going to savor it.
Save so mi, kill read and then your game just continues as if youve completed another mission. Best option if you want it completed and to keep going
In you opinion, do you think there will be ps5 pro version soon ? or should I play it now Thanks
Just play it now, there’s no real difference between PS5 and PS5 pro
I'm sorry but there's faaaaaaar better games.
You don’t know what an opinion is do you?
@Bruhman_YUSS everyone has them
@@odeball22 then why are you saying this lmao

I just started playing maybe a month ago and I got pulled in deep but I’m kind of getting bored now. Did all the gigs, jobs, ncpd - maxed out levels and got most iconics (not all), dug into lots of dark corners. It is amazing how many little details they have in there but more and more the city feels empty. I’ve contemplated installing the convai mod but I think it’s too shallow of an integration. But this is the kind of game that would definitely benefit from some deep “AI” type integrations, giving it more of a living and evolving city. Definitely a great environment though. Was fun listening to your pondering. I’m glad I missed the bad years :)
I finished it td, that game left me scarred. The best game I have ever played, and it's the one I learned the most out of
Me and my roommates from undergrad in college were all super hyped for this game. We really felt this game had the potential to be the Destiny killer. The gameplay loops were solid, the flight is butter smooth, and it had so much potential. It sorely needed more Javelins, lots of weapons and weapon types, and mission variety. It could have went somewhere but it was just so strange that BioWare just dropped it completely. If memory serves, Mass Effect: Andromeda bombed and required 99% of Anthem’s dev power to be moved to fixing Mass Effect. Which, that move honestly left a sour taste in my both toward both Anthem and Mass Effect: Andromeda. I hate Andromeda because it killed Anthem and I doubly hate Andromeda because even with all that extra manpower, it was still such a lackluster entry in the Mass Effect series. At the end of the day, Anthem is what Andromeda should have been, gameplay wise.
Disco Elysium feels perfect for winter with its narrator adding to the cozy feeling
Hi Short Ginger! amazing video! stayed because your voice sounds A LOT like David Escobar (my Draeger's supervisor ahah) Huge hug from barcelona, see you on next update (downloading it now)
Batman Arkham Games, not only is origins set on Christmas, but the entire series is so dark and isolating, but you have the comfort of being Batman
Super dope video man! Skyrim is definitely a winter game for me. The snowy landscape and the music just completely hit, and I first played it in a January and often revisit it towards the end of a year. I don’t know if could say another winter game for me but I’m starting to pick games to play these days based on the season going on so hopefully next year there will be a good list.
it's not a masterpiece game, but spider-man : Miles morales is a winter game i like
4:17 "embodify" lol
1,426 hours in im gonna stop after this update. I can quit whenever i want too. 😅
15:18 dont worry about that, i really enjoy hearing your viewpoint on games. you express your thoughts very well and in a natural way
I'd add Frostpunk to the list.
AC 3, both for the atmosphere and setting within the game as well as the nostalgia on my part (I played it during a cozy, dark, lonely in a good way winter time).
26:17 I still to this day remember my hands choosing to kill the baby... I am not the same anymore...
the long dark is a very winter feeling game. mostly because there is snow everywhere.
A really great explanation of a feeling I absolutely adore. Elden ring and hollow knight being my favorite games. And the distinguishing factor between games that are good and games that are incredible to me is the atmosphere. This winter like silent and gloomy atmosphere especially. Great video.
Maybe it's too on the nose, but Division 1.
Mafia 2 for me
Man i wanted this video so bad. But never thought anyone else even knew whata winter game is.
I play Celeste every year. Strong Winter vibes on that one
Try in VR. I've never played it flat
I played through Twilight Princess during a particularly cold New England winter as a kid. The cold dark tones of the story paired with the actual Yetis and snow temple created such a creepy yet cozy atmosphere that made you want to burrow further into your blanket.
Keep on the good work. It sure sucks to please the Algorithm but your essay’s are really good.
Ha thank you :)
I love From Software in general but Dark Souls 2 in particular became the most wintery for me because I ended up naturally falling into this tradition of playing it every other December for some reason. I haven't played it since 2020 though.
I’m replaying Ghost of Tsushima right now, and it’s got hella winter vibes. Such a good game, especially in the fall/winter times
I think a game that matches that kinda vibe is Deaths door
I’ve made a habit of playing The Division every time Christmas rolls around
RDR 2, SOULS GAMES and Majora's Mask. Oh and Deep Rock Galactic is super cozy especially around winter
Metroid Prime on the GameCube will forever feel like Winter to me, fond memories of that era.
I was fortunate enough to play this day one, with no spoilers, the entire time I was at a loss for words, such a shift that turned this somewhat mindless shooter on its head
Stellar Blade in a lot of ways is the hack and slash game I’ve desperately wanted since Devil May Cry 5 and I love playing as Eve very much (the budgets further add to her appeal). There’s definitely much they can add to the existing formula with a sequel and o very much look forward to one. The game got a price cut on Amazon as of late so definitely get it for the holidays (or pile into the PC release when that comes out if that’s more your alley). By the way it also feels great to finally play a hack and shady game again that actually remembers what blocking and parrying is instead of lazily relying on only Bayonetta’s dodge yet again (looking at you Darksiders 2 and Wukong).
I saw the intro and realized I've played most of these! Still need to play outer wilds. Sable is such a great pick, and the moebius artistic influence gives it such an awesome vibe I cannot recommend it enough!
You pretty much put it into words how I would’ve. Good video brother
Extremely obvious because of all the snow but one of my favorite traditions that my wife and i have is playing the two newer god of wars each christmas
Skyrim has always been that winter game for me. It always hits the holiday Christmas vibe. It captures that childlike freedom when you were on Christmas break. But now I am playing Witcher 3. My goodness. I am currently on Skellige and it is the most perfect time to explore this isle! PS- Elden Ring to me gives off that lonely secluded winter vibe too. I'll save that for next winter! Love your work.
