Journey was the first game that I feel changed me forever...for the better. I've been playing for years and have learned patience, empathy and understanding more than any other "real" life experience. It's beautiful. It's simple. It's emotional. It's perfection.
Journey was my childhood game. Back when I was 8-9, I played this game to completion. Back then, it was just a funny scenic game that I could fly in. I met my best friend in this game.
It's strange. I only played the demo version on my ps4 when it came out and I played the full game of flower. I just didn't think journey was all that good. But sky cotl is.... terrible. Mentally draining, the complete opposite of journey and flower.
every single time i play journey i cry every single time. even if i know exactly whats coming, i bawl my eyes out like it was the first i time i ever played. journey is such a beautiful game and it is genuinely my favorite game ever

I played Journey multiple times, and each time felt special. One time, my companion and I had been together from the start. When we reached the top of the tall tower, I had to take care of something in real life. Before we moved on to the next segment, I chirped and chriped and chriped at them and then sat down. I ran off to try and take care of things as fast as I could. I was probably gone for about 5 minutes, but when I came back, they were sitting right next to me, patiently waiting for my return. We both excitedly big chirped at each other when I started moving again. It was so touching. At the end of our Journey, we drew hearts for each other in the snow. I don't remember their playstion tag, but they live on in my heart to this day.
Same devs and they wanted to recreate journey but on mobile. Ive played thousands of hours of sky but never once played journey i should rly do it aaaaa
this game was extremely underwhelming to me. i had managed to not see anything about it for years since it's release and finally was able to play it in 2021 and it fell extremely short of every expectation i had for it. i think sky is definitely a more polished and impressive version of it (bc i'm fairly certain they just built upon or added to the same story) if only sky wasn't a money hungry, iap pushing, more pay to play then just a game to play game. my initial experience with discovering the world of sky before it got dull and boring waiting for seasons and grinding for in game currencies and stressing about everything they charge real money for, is what i had expected from journey but i guess in a way i'm glad i got to experience the experience i thought i should've had with journey in some way but it sucks that it can't just be a 'that was a good game' for either, for me. sky is a never ending game until the money well dries up and then it'll be a dead game rather than an experience that can be relived again after forgetting details and just want to go on that journey again. either way, i still really enjoy the designs of characters from both games and the basic lore of their stories.
I think of Journey more as an art piece, and the sky was that too, but now it's just a glorified dress up game. And please, sky is not polished. It has glitches and bugs like every 2 weeks, and the quality for the game just goes lower and lower after every season. You can see the difference between the quality of the 2 games endings. The mountain in Journey is such a visually rich experience, while the eye of eden just gives me a headache every time i look at it.
It's not a game, it's a spiritual experience, and a complete masterpiece.
