Replace jeep grand Cherokee alternator 99-04
Number
someone may have sanded the number off also. But most likely it is just newer
What if Thay don't have a nut on the knife is it newer or older
Most likely it is a newer knife.
@@toolsdownsouth it's made in usa
Oh ok then it is not a new one then . It may be one that was still made in u.s.a. but after they stopped using serial numbers. I think it was late 80s early 90s they stopped putting the serial numbers on the knives.
Where can I buy this clicker press and for how much please
Crazy
Do you have tubular rivet die set?
No I sure don't. Have not found a cheap set online yet. But they probably exist somewhere haha.
Oh by the way I assume you mean by tubular rivets that are asking about the rivets with 1 cap and other side is crimped w/ splash anvil.
I have one passed on to me from my Dad. It has AX prefix as it’s serial number, any idea of the year of manufacture? How do I find out it’s history?
Hey, you could try searching the internet and come across blogs with knife collectors talking about the lb7 dates from the serial numbers. It is kind of hard to come across clear information that seems like everyone agrees 100% on the dating of the knifes. But I believe after some research your knife is probably early 80s most likely but I'm not positive.
Wow that is a lot of speed bust😅
Great idea and design. Horrible one handed video though.
Haha. Yeah not that great of a way to capture footage, most of the video was taken with phone mounted on contraption on my hat. I appreciate you watching and leaving a comment .
Beautiful knife dude
Thanks!
Perfect explanation! Thanks for taking the time for the metrics, I appreciate it!
Thank you and I appreciate you for watching and taking the time to leave a comment.
I subscribed just from the funny you dropped in 😂
Haha thanks
Just found your channel this evening. Been watching some of your videos and and I like what I'm seeing. Trying to come up with the best option for a clicker press and I saw your video on the Harbor Freight press. I like how you used the ground pounder for the top plate. I haven't seen that one but it's a great idea. I make a lot of wallets and other items but it's all hand cut and stitched. I like hand stiching but the cutting by hand is getting old lol. I am curious about what you did for the finish you put on for the outer of this wallet. I get the candle wax, great idea btw, but what was the other substance? I'm gonna guess and say crisco. Nice job!
Close guess on crisco but it is actually lard. And yeah I still do a bunch of hand cutting on pieces I usually create a pattern from cardstock and if I use the pattern enough I then will cut the pattern from thicker acrylic sheet and cut the pattern straight from that instead of tracing it out on the leather then cutting. The cutting dies can get very time consuming to make or expensive to buy so cutting by hand is one of my main ways I cut leather. I'm glad you found the channel and have been enjoying some of the videos and appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. Thanks!
Jesus Christ I can't think this first
Haha. I have a longer vid of making it on my channel
A great knife from a great company that is now gone. Taylor Groug "Schrades" are Chinese copies and a sacrilege to the heritage of true Schrade knives.
Thanks for the comment. They definitely made most things out of better materials in the past and we got the money's worth from them. It seems like everything is throwaway items now
Thanks 👍👍 no bs vid ❤
Thank you! for watching and taking the time to leave a comment.
@@toolsdownsouth that was the easiest alternator I ever changed!
Do you please know why my guide in my bosh PL1632 is not squared?
This was exactly what I needed to replace the alternator on my car, thank you so much for sharing
You are welcome. Thank you! for the comment.
Id like to see you add a video off putti g up LED shop lights that have built in speakers
Haha! I would like to see me do that too. Maybe I will get around to that one day.
Good job showing how to use dies.
I have a press like yours. Where can I find the dies for line 24 snaps?
So either on eBay or Amazon you should be able to find them. Before I replied to you I went to look on both sites and if you search for 201 15mm snap die set . That should help you find the ones that work for your press, if you do have the same one as me. I believe the price has went up a few more dollars since I purchased. I hope this helps... And Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thank you sir. I like your work bench video too.
Puma game warden is the original of this style of knife. Just a little known fact
I do believe I've read that before in knife blogs. People were debating on which came first. Who copied who (buck vs puma). I personally don't own any puma knives.
I’m buck religious… but that Shrade is looking pretty good too👀
Haha
Very nice. I'm betting it's 70's vintage if there are no 'alphas' in the serial #. The blade shape looks like the early LB7s too. The spacer spring might indicate a more recent vintage. My earliest LB7s have flat springs and the 80s+ vintage have a rod spring like the Bucks.
Thank you! Yeah the serial starts with a Q . I read a few knife blogs and if what the folks in the blogs say are accurate then I'm guessing the knife is from 80's still not quite sure if early, mid, or late. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment.
If you take a strong magnifying glass look at the part that is sharpen ,you be able to tell why Buck is the better knife !!! Better steel...

This is such a great explainer video - hunted online for ages through so many vids, this is def the best I've found! I just wanted to understand how these ugly old presses and dies work. You made it super logical and visual. Thanks, man.
Thank you! I'm glad the video helped. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment.
Found the black moc for $40. May not be the BEST work boot per say, but it’ll do for a winter boot in TX. Thanks for the video.
For sure! I Appreciate you watching and leaving a comment.
Swapped out pined ebony for meh unpinned antler. Pass. The contrast between the brass and the ebony looks better anyway.
Great video
Thanks!!
Excitedly bought this planer. Used on piece of wood that had a bit of metal in it. Broke the blade , bend the planer head ; 4 passes and into the garbage. Parts cost as much as a new one.
Show us the ferrari
Haha
😅 *promo sm*
The only video that said what size sockets to use. Thank you. Saved me having to dig through my tool box multiple times. 👍
I'm glad it helped. Thank you for watching and the comment!!
hehehehewheheheh
I had my doubts at first but I can very easily see myself doing this once I saw the finished product. Bravo!
Beautiful
Thank you!! Appreciate the comment
Great vid this. No BS. Job done. One question .... when you had your hand in at the end, were you just making sure the belt hadn't slipped off elsewhere? Ty
Thank you!! for the comment and watching and yeah that is exactly what I was doing.
Well done!!
Thanks!!
I am curious, did the legs twist at all after assembly?
Nope. Still straight five years later.
@@toolsdownsouth Thank you, i am attempting something similar with 5x5's with pith .
Glad I have mine!
And the Chuck Norris award for the biggest brass ba-lls goes to that guy there!
I bought one but the fence came being not squared 😭
nice
Great video. I don`t know if you ever will read this, but how did it perform over the years? any long term quality issues? I'm interested in this particular model because it is the easiest one to convert into a makeshift thikness planer, but i've seen reviews about overheating and stuff. I would immensely appreciate any input.
Thanks! It has worked great. It is not something I use constantly but I do use it a few times yearly. I made a frame to attach it upside down to use as a jointer and it runs continuously while I run boards through it and it has not ran hot ... Not saying it couldn't happen but it has ran fine. Appreciate the comment and I hope that helps.
@@toolsdownsouth Yes, it does help, Thank you sir
Template plss im new subscriber btw
Thanks for watching and subscribing! Sorry I don't have a template for it. I actually traced out around a knife I had disassembled at the time and the template I used in the video I just tossed when I was done with. Maybe in the future I could make a template for people to use. Again thanks for subscribing!!
@@toolsdownsouthoh ok thanks for the reply
I'm looking for a door planer. To properly bevel a door the stiles should be beveled at 1/8" in 2". Can this planer bevel at that angle? Also can the blade depth be changed as you are trimming the door?
This video should come with a dose of Dramamine. Lol , Thanks for sharing.
Haha thanks for watching and the comment!
Nice
Thanks!
