Hitachi is on top of everything. I see their name on auto parts, heavy industrial machinery, electronics, tools. I do believe last i took apart a dewalt tool, i saw a lot of Bosch components.
My first ever cordless drill was a Dewalt and I’ve owned at least 4 total including Harbor Freight. The Dewalt was the worst performing drill of all. I just bought a Hitachi 18 volt impact driver and I love it. Very well made tool and it cost so much less that I had enough left over to buy a premium set of tool bits for it.
Aye, I work at Hitachi in Kentucky and they definitely strive to be the best company they can be. It's a great place to work with awesome benefits and pay.
You glossed over a very important detail. The Hitachi/metaboHPT unit is IP56 rated (dustproof, waterproof) That alone would determine the choice of countless contractors who are picking one of these tools. IMO the hitachi and dewalt are painfully similar on the basis of features and price. But considering Lowes has a near perma-sale on the green stuff, and it will hold up to lots of dust, dirt, and water, I know what I want to buy!
Pretty sure the first setting on the Dewalt is for self tapping screws or just lite driving in general, to avoid overdriving fasteners and whatnot. I may be wrong but something like that. As for Hitachi (now Metabo HPT)...love them man. Greatest tools ever. Legendary miter saws and nailers.
@@johnwillis7965 I really love their innovation! Cordless framing nailer, 3 hammer impact driver, 6 1/2" circular saw that cuts deeper than Dewalt 60v 7 1/2 saw!! Amazing innovation, mini 3ah batteries, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some things lol

I think you need to upgrade to some better screws with torx heads. Try some GRKs and you'll never want to go back to those crappy ones man. I just got the Hitachi impact driver along with their brushless hammer drill in a kit with two batteries for $129. That's a deal man, I felt like I stole it. It's because they're changing their name from Hitachi to Metabo and they're getting rid of the old stock. They're almost all gone already (only a few left at the different Lowes locations in my state) but now's the time to snag a deal if you can.
I liked the review .. i have most hitachi 18v tools ... but wanted an impact driver . Great review .. ignore the keyboard haters ... probably not tradesmen ... friggin DIY ERS
It's not a weird set. That set is for electricity like putting receptacle. This set will not damage this soft screws or strip them. It did not beat the Dewalt. It would strip door screws, receptacle screws light screw. So it already lost. Dewalt does the soft and the hard work.
Nase ASE i really can not answer that as i do not own either. I assume if you use them based on what they are rated for they would last a long time though. Im sorry i couldn't be of more help. Thank you for the comment
Collet is just a chuck adapter, right? Impacts don't have the chucks a drill has, an impact the the hex female end and a collet fits in there and allows for chucks. That's what I've collected via research. Is this correct?
The first weird settun is fer fine, deli kit work like doorknobs and udder sensy tiv work when you want to be plum care fool not to bugger up da screws. Cuz then mama be mad.
Yeah, something wrong with that price. They are at least $200.00. Normally $300.00 I slowly switched over from DeWalt to Hitachi. I like Hitachi better. I burned up several DeWalt grinders, 1/2 inch drills and sawzalls.
I thought I was the only one killing dewalts one after another. I just ordered the Hitachi triple hammer. For nail guns I have bostitch mostly. I have like a 2014 or 2015 porter cable impact and drill that I haven't quite killed yet no matter how hard I run them but I run 4 amp hour batteries on them instead. My main job is construction but I do mechanic work and everything too so I use the impacts like 99% of the time.
Iamdbat At night ... Im going to go ahead and disagree with you on this topic . i understand that they are called impact drivers and main purpose would be to drive fasteners. But the definition of drill is basically a hand tool or power tool that rotates and is used to make holes. Well guess what these impact drivers can do? You can attach a drill bit to it and drill holes and also if you screw in a screw and remove it there would be a hole left in the absence of its place... Debate open .
Tools Down South you are correct with your definition, however impact drivers were originally designed to drive screws and long fasteners specifically. I apparently missed a memo somewhere but impact drivers have recently become the 21st century Swiss Army Knife. So who knows. I still drill holes with drills and drive screws with impact drivers. Right tool for the job. I sub my plumber for plumbing work even tho he does know how to do electrical.
Renaissance Man. Haha yeah i know . i also use drill drivers when i need to drill and mainly use the impact for screws but i was just thinking its definitely a drill. I find myself using the impact drill bits when i dont have the drill driver near me and the impact drills holes. So haha. I had to say something but i know there not true blue 100% drills .
Tools Down South I believe they have morphed into drill/drivers. Especially the new offerings by some companies. I use my Impact with spiral bits to drill holes while installing cabinets and other lite drilling tasks. Not convinced as others using it with large bits for big drilling tasks. That’s what drills are for I feel.
