Just found your channel this evening. Been watching some of your videos and and I like what I'm seeing. Trying to come up with the best option for a clicker press and I saw your video on the Harbor Freight press. I like how you used the ground pounder for the top plate. I haven't seen that one but it's a great idea. I make a lot of wallets and other items but it's all hand cut and stitched. I like hand stiching but the cutting by hand is getting old lol. I am curious about what you did for the finish you put on for the outer of this wallet. I get the candle wax, great idea btw, but what was the other substance? I'm gonna guess and say crisco. Nice job!
Close guess on crisco but it is actually lard. And yeah I still do a bunch of hand cutting on pieces I usually create a pattern from cardstock and if I use the pattern enough I then will cut the pattern from thicker acrylic sheet and cut the pattern straight from that instead of tracing it out on the leather then cutting. The cutting dies can get very time consuming to make or expensive to buy so cutting by hand is one of my main ways I cut leather.
