A great knife from a great company that is now gone. Taylor Groug "Schrades" are Chinese copies and a sacrilege to the heritage of true Schrade knives.
Thanks for the comment. They definitely made most things out of better materials in the past and we got the money's worth from them. It seems like everything is throwaway items now
Very nice. I'm betting it's 70's vintage if there are no 'alphas' in the serial #. The blade shape looks like the early LB7s too. The spacer spring might indicate a more recent vintage. My earliest LB7s have flat springs and the 80s+ vintage have a rod spring like the Bucks.
Thank you! Yeah the serial starts with a Q . I read a few knife blogs and if what the folks in the blogs say are accurate then I'm guessing the knife is from 80's still not quite sure if early, mid, or late. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment.
Hey, you could try searching the internet and come across blogs with knife collectors talking about the lb7 dates from the serial numbers. It is kind of hard to come across clear information that seems like everyone agrees 100% on the dating of the knifes. But I believe after some research your knife is probably early 80s most likely but I'm not positive.
Oh ok then it is not a new one then . It may be one that was still made in u.s.a. but after they stopped using serial numbers. I think it was late 80s early 90s they stopped putting the serial numbers on the knives.
I have the exact same knife and sheath, with serial number U39087. It was my dad’s. It’s a nice made in USA knife. Thanks for sharing yours with us.
Yes indeed. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!!

I have one passed on to me from my Dad.
It has AX prefix as it’s serial number, any idea of the year of manufacture?
How do I find out it’s history?
