Kiwami4 Alternative? Porphis PHS155 MP 1.3 v Iwata Kiwami4 BA4J 1.3 Low Air Consumption Spray Guns
Переглядів 1,2 тис.День тому
Taking a look at probably the best alternative to the Anest Iwata Kiwami4 with the BA4J cap, this gun represented excellent value for money, but production was stop by Anest Iwata for reasons outlined in the video. The Porphis PHS155 MP is imo, the closest gun I can find to replace it, it's cheaper and certainly as good if not better. I hope you like the video. Thanks to everyone for watching. ...

    Привет! Lv2 наность более влажно и быстро? Чем ba? Значит он может работать с болле густым зязким материалом? На Немецких авто крупная шагрень, её легче сделать густым вязким лаком. Мне дастался w400 c двумя кепками bellaria и lv2 изучаю для каких задачь они.Если закрутить факел узор на bellaria он будет похож как lv2? Спасибо,с уважением.

    Hey how’s it going? Hope this comment ain’t too late on a video but would you think this Meiji (Luma) spray clear close or fine as a Series 2 Ws400? I was able to demo it and loved it but the price is just a lot to think about, I’ve also seen if I’m not wrong you could compare a WBX kiwami to a series 2 but what about a Meiji in 1.3 OP?

      I@@peteshobbies5383 i was asking because my f160 (with 1.2 clear cap) has a very small fan and, in a range of 15-18 Celsius, requires minimum 2,5/2,8 bar to atomize decent... Great content and I’m now thinking about buying one from AliExpress. Excuse my lack of knowledge but they don’t seem to be available with a UK plug. If I order 220v can I just change the EU plug for a UK one? Any help would be appreciated

      @peteshobbies5383 5 днів тому

      Hi Brendan, Yes, mate, as long as you order 220v, you just fit a UK plug, voltage is the same, so it will work fine. I have been using these Aliexpress sanders exclusively now for the last 4 months, just to give them plenty of use, and they are excellent. I have the Mirka versions as well, so I do know what they are like, and these work just as well. Obvious time will tell, but so far, I'm well happy with them. Cheers, mate

I've used Aliexpress for years so you will be fine, sometimes they put a plug adapter in the box so it's a bit like going on a foreign holiday with a plug adapter but you can just put a UK plug on it you want

    Hi Pete, amazing job on that tank mate it looks superb with just the right amount of candy on it so you can still see the two different silvers under it👌when I tried doing candy I put way to much on and it almost turned into a 2 stage basecoat as I couldn't see the colour under the candy🙄😅As soon as the video started I could tell this was an older video from your spraying style, these days your style is so much better but saying that the finish you was getting back then was still top quality👏👊 It's a shame you had all those problems with your Iwata guns mate I'm really surprised as to how this can happen with such a well known brand which are/were well known for their quality, it's almost like the top branded guns are dropping their quality (but upping the prices) but a lot of the cheap and cheerful guns coming from China are improving their quality making them a really good deal at a good price🤔cheers mate👍

    H Pete , how are you ? Possible you can't remember me because of many people write you and you answer all. I live in Turkiye and have a Meiji 1.3 HVLP. Im intend use it for base and need a gun for clear coat. You offer me 717, i think same but it comes here so expencive because of customs tax, almost same price with Sata or Devilbiss. I like WS400 but it's not sold here. Which gun do you offer me for clear coat. Sata 5000 or 5500 or Devilbiss DV1. I'll paint motocycle mostly. Thanks.

      Hi buddy, Yes, I do remember you, we have been talking on Instagram. If it's a choice between the 5000, 5500, or DV1 for clear, I would go with the X5500 1.2 RP "I" , the 5000 is a big of a canon, so if if mainly motorcycle parts I wouldn't go with that. Tell me, can you get the Anest Iwata Kiwami4 WBX in Turkey? , you can get one from Japan, but I'm not sure of the tax

      @@peteshobbies5383 Im surprised that you remember me :) In fact i dont undestand what is " canon" I checked the meaning of that but its different meanings. You mean 5000 is bigger dimension than 5500, or 5000 pattern is bigger than 5500. Yes i'll paint motocycle parts mostly. Maybe sometimes car parts, but very seldom. Its impossible to find İwata spray gun in Turkiye. I spoke with Iwata Turkiye Distributor and they told me that they only sell iwata airbrush guns. No big spray gun and cant bring. And import is sooo expencive. I pay more price for kiwami than 5500. By the way, im really admire of your comparison videos because of you set same conditions for materials and no much people dont do this. I think you dont paint only, have you another work/job ? Thank you very much for your suggest.

      @cll_sr Sorry, I use the word canon to describe a spray gun that puts out a lot of material, so it is very fast to use. I think it may be too much for most of your work. The X5500 is slower, so it would be better for you. I now spend most of my time spraying. It used to be a hobby but has grown into much more. I believe the only way to compare things is to keep everything the same apart from the thing you are comparing. After all, it makes sense, doesn't it

    Hello Pete, I’ve been watching a few of your older videos (must confess, I’m fascinated again with the hobby) and noticed you said you like airbrushed as well (which makes sense). That’s how I began with the hobby. I just wondered if you ever tried the budget airbrushes from Fengda. I was a bit of an Iwata snob when I knew nothing but the Fengda clone of the Eclipse HPCS, for instance, is remarkable, especially as it cost under £30… Just thought you might like to take a look for yourself - though if you ever uploaded any airbrush stuff, I’d happily watch that too. Anyway, so long as you enjoy it and are having fun, please keep up the great work!!

I suppose the main reason I stay away of it most of the time is I literally have no artistic talent at all, so it all stencils and the like, although you obviously do get to know what's a good airbrush and what isn't. I've not heard of that airbrush, but I do have the Iwata HPCS, so it might be an idea to compare them. Cheers, buddy 👌

    • @Lewis-kf2pj
      @Lewis-kf2pj 4 дні тому

      Cracking reply there, cheers. The bit about artistic talent hit the spot and got a laugh, as that is exactly why I started using an airbrush :) :) That and my inability to use brushes of any size… Just as an idea, and one which you must freely discard if you think it’s a stinker; a simple colour gradient perhaps to show the like for like qualities of airbrushes? Anyway, if you do airbrush videos, I’m sure we’ll all watch ‘em, if you don’t, we’ll watch the spray gun videos instead :) :) Cheers

These days, I open the fluid right out, keep the pressure the same, and increase the distance. It especially helps with Candy colours as you tend to notice mottled base colours more under the Candy

I have seen abunch if reviews of the porphis 717 and 715 and everyone seems to love them. I was really i.oressed with the Meiji finer reviews and it looks like a durable well made gun. Super video, nicely detailed as always. I'll have to do the same i think. I have a problem where the only gun that will go above 32psi at the gun gauge, with all the regulators wide open, is the R500! I understand that the 3hp compressor may not have the FAD to match the guns (Dram (27psi max), Ntools 4000B etc) but i was certain that after the compressor fills and shuts off, it should be capable even for a few seconds so maybe i have a problem? Here's one you mightn't like to answer: do you plug both compressors into the a socket on the same circuit? Thanks Pete as always

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383 10 днів тому

      Hi mate, When the guns start to consume more air, you will need the pressure higher out the filter set and compressor, just to flow the air required. I ran then off the same ring main, I wired the place up, so I have a 20amp Breaker covering that supply, although the circuit is rated to 30amps Induction motors draw most of their current on start-up, so you need to adjust them so one comes on before the other. If they both come on at exactly the same time, it will blow the breaker

      Yeah I'll tell them about it see what they say, it's one of those things but as you say the gun is new only used it a few times plus it was like it from new so they should replace the FOC. I recon the 155 is a cracking deal for the price it's a superb gun, I think it's around the same price as the Astro which isn't nowhere as good as the 155👌 I have tried the PHS135 for WoW but it didn't lay it flat enough but I recon it would make a good high build primer gun which I don't use very much these days, I treat your guns as I do mine so atm they are safely stored away in a bucket of thinners outside behind my workshop🫣🤭🤣😉cheers mate👍

    How does the saigole kiwami copy compare to the porphis? . Fyi 16-20 psi is roughly what you'd use with waterborne paints , water is a bit different to apply compared to solvent base 👍

      Hi mate, Porphis is better in all respects, but it's more expensive

    Hi Pete, if I have the same filter system as you with a diaphragm already in the line, is there any benefit to putting a gauge/regulator with a diaphragm at the gun?

      Hi mate, I think there is, it seems to smooth out the delivery even more. On some guns, you need to increase the pressure at the filter set to allow enough air to flow through the gun as it consumption is higher. When you do this, a regulator at the gun helps to keep the step in pressure lower, so smooths out the delivery.

    Hi Pete, I'm copying your setup verbatim. Thanks for making these resources for the community. Helps people like me learn how to pros do it. Cheers 🤙
