I'm similar to you ie work in a small shop but painting mostly cars for the motortrade and have like you alot off guns bit off a fetish lol. But as you mentioned i still jump back to the porphis 717 great gun . Also thinking about the Sata CC but we'll see
Hi Jimmy, Yeah, it's not a bad way to be. Sure, more space with lots of areas for the different processes would be great, but I really enjoy working in my workshop, and if something goes wrong, I've only got me to blame 😁 The PRD717 is a great tool. It can work with a wide range of materials and pressures, the CC is very good, I was surprised that its does work, I assumed it was all hype but once you know the way to use it, it's good, cheers mate 👌
Hi pete super like from me 😊 you know iam a sata jet fan and sagola 4600 1.3 as well my favourite guns pete good video as always thanks for sharing that information very well explained 😀
I have a SATA 5000 HVLP for base coat and a SATA 5500 RP for clear. I spray SW solvent and I like results. I have a Porphis 717 split tip and it is a great overall gun From sealer to clear coat the 717 holds it’s own.
Hi Mate, Yes, the HVLP is the recognised base setup and does work well. I really rate the PRD717. It's such a universal gun and works well at low pressures. As you say, it can hold its own against the best , cheers, buddy 👍
Hello Pete, the CC nozzle setup is available for the 5000 as well. I haven't had much time to paint lately but I plan on getting a CC nozzle set for my 5000 and seeing how it compares to the regular RP & HVLP setup.
@@peteshobbies5383 As far as I understand, the only difference between the 5000B and the Phaser is cosmetic. I talked to the SATA reps at the SEMA show back in 2019 and they said the main parts and functional design are identical.
Hi Pete hope you are keeping ok mate, when I first bought my X5500 I was really excited to get it as it was supposed to be the best gun out there, back then I didn't have that many guns then and I think my main clear gun was the ProLite and my W400 so for me it was a step up in the quality of the finish I got but it wasn't a huge upgrade from my ProLite in the build quality🤔 Now I have a few more guns😁especially the PRD-717 I do wonder why I paid all that money for the X5500 and the WS400 when the 717 is just as good with the build quality and the finish it puts out, saying that like you I also want the new Sata plus I want the top of the range digital version😬I must be mad plus I bet it doesn't spray any better than the X5500🙄🤦♂😂 Cheers mate👍
Hi John, Yes, all good here, mate, thank you. I remember you asking me about the 5500 when you were thinking of buying it, and I couldn't honestly say you will find it performs better than what you had, it does put a smile on my face but I think that's just because of the price tag. As you say, the Porphis PRD717 is as good but probably better and a third of the price. I am sure the Xjet will be no better, but you need to try it to find out, I guess 🤔, Cheers, buddy 👍
I prefer the 5000, I fine that the 5500 O pattern and the 5000 spray exactly the same and the I pattern doesn't do as good of an I as a ws400 Series 1 or 2. The 5500 O is a waste of money when 5000's are still available and already the same for hundreds less

Hi Andy, thanks mate, much appreciated 👍
The 5000 help 1.3 to me is killer for both base and clear. Real nice all arounder
Love my 5000.What do you spray for clear?
You certainly hear more people singing the praises of the 5000 than the 5500

Hi David, Yes, as far as I know the CC setup was for the Phaser 5000, but should fit the standard 5000

@davidparker9676 That makes perfect sense 👌

Hi Bryan, I would agree 💯 with what you say, I feel exactly the same 👌
Have a sata also, the most expensive gun I have and the worst build quality feel of all my guns.
Hi buddy, they are certainly overpriced imo, people say you get what you pay for, but that's not always the way. Cheers, mate 👍
