How to Make the Best Homemade Strawberry Wine Part Two
Learn how to make a delicious strawberry wine that's sure to impress your guests! This beginner-friendly recipe is all you need to create a fruity, slightly tart wine with delightful floral notes. It's perfect for those new to winemaking. I love flavoring my strawberry wine with a touch of strawberry syrup to boost that fresh strawberry flavor. Part 1 Ingredients:
5-6 pounds fresh or frozen strawberries
3 pounds sugar + 3 cups water (for simple syrup)
Spring water to bring it up to the right level (recommended over tap)
1/2 teaspoon pectic enzyme
1/4 tsp wine tannin
1/8 tsp acid blend as needed because strawberries are very acidic already
1 teaspoon yeast nutrient
71B yeast (1/2 pack)
Part 2: Ingredients for Bottling
As you get ready to bottle your wine, make sure you have these essentials:
1 Campden tablet per gallon of wine
½ tsp potassium sorbate
Simple syrup (for sweetening, if needed)
General Wine-Making Supply Check List (most kits will have majority of these items)
1.5 - 2-gallon fermenter (with lid, of course!)
1-gallon glass carboy - where the magic happens
Bung - no leaks allowed
Airlocks - gotta let the gas out
Wine bottles - to hold all that tasty goodness
Wine corks - seal the deal
Plastic spoon or stirrer - mix it up
StarSan sanitizer - cleanliness is key
Spray bottle - easy sanitation on the go
Mesh bag - keeps your fruit in check
Hydrometer - science meets wine
Glass cylinder - for hydrometer readings
Scale - for precise measurements
If your wine is struggling to clear, try using bentonite clay. Mix it with warm water according to package instructions, then add it to your wine. Let it sit for a few weeks and watch as the wine clears up beautifully.

    Hi there!! I’m currently brewing this wine with the same kit you linked and I think I need some help. Specifically after you find the starting gravity and close the wine in the bucket to ferment, it seems like the lid you have is fairly airtight which allows the CO2 to show in the airlock. The bucket that came with the wine kit is not airtight and has many gaps along the lip of the lid. I’m on my 7th day and I’m not seeing any gas released at all in the airlock and am quite worried about the possibility of this wine oxidizing. Is it normal for the bucket itself to not be airtight? I know it’s not fully airtight given that you need the airlock but not seeing any gas in the airlock is rather worrying. Thank you for any and all help, the first batch of wine is presumably the most anxiety inducing 😭🙏🏼

      I believe it is fermenting, at least it smells like it is and I can see the bubbles. Not sure if I got a faulty lid, I know some other buyers on Amazon said something similar. If I were to go out and buy another bucket for brewing wine, do you think I’d be able to transfer this batch despite that it’s been exposed to air for the last week or would it be best to simply start over?

    I have no desire whatsoever to mimic consuming the remains from abducted, tortured, raped and murdered victims.     Hey mead brewer here, what benefit do you get from Campden tablet at that stage? I typically see it being used on your fruits a day before starting primary fermentation in order to kill off wild yeast and bacteria.

      @@mrsshyanee8760 nothing wrong with having questions. I think I explained in the video though I don’t remember..I’ll have to watch it back. But when you freeze something and defrost, there’s typically leftover liquid. It’s pretty normal. It’s juices from the fruit and water from freezing. Totally normal..

    Hey girl heeeeey..so to make sure I'm understanding, we add the sugar, camden and potassium tablets twice..during the fermentation process and before bottling? Because these are the things that you added during the first video can I just want to make sure I'm following the steps correctly. I love dry wine, do I not add the sugar?

      @@AuthenticallyFonze hi! I didn’t add potassium sorbate in the first video but did add campden and sugar :) if you want a dry wine then you can bottle it once it’s done clearing and you’ll only need to add a campden tablet before bottling.
