The most interesting thing that came from the Shapiro MacDonald rap was the fact that even some of Macdonalds fans seemed to disapprove of the rap because Ben is Jewish. I will be interested in your hot take when someone in one of these protest 'flash mobs' decides to detonate themselves in a public space as an "act of protest". The authorities have been directed to treat these riots on the same way that they have previously dealt with anti-globalization / anti-Capitalist protests, in the hope that not enforcing existing laws would somehow de-escalate the protests, when, in fact the disruptions to everyday life for ordinary Canadians (not just book store magnates, but their customers and employees) have increased. De-escalation is clearly the wrong strategy: not only has it not been effective, it makes sense to assume that as the agony that drives the protests increases, the scope and scale of disorder will likely also increase.
