Federal NDP if you're reading this I swear to god TACK TO THE LEFT TO WIN. BE BOLD. Give us something incredibly compelling to vote FOR. A GST tax cut and "don't let corporations buy ~affordable~ housing" isn't good enough. We stand at a precipice and the options are socialism or barbarism. If Singh isn't the leader to make it happen then get out of the way.
Sorry but while Singh does seem like a genuinely nice guy "to have a beer with" I don't think he has it in him to resurrect the NDP especially given his prior record of kowtowing to the Liberals.
The fact that he comes across as more competent and clearheaded in an interview than in their own ads is concerning. The NDP has a serious messaging problem and they haven't been able to capitalize on the liberals' collapse. Hopefully things change for the better.
really? I would say that the NDP is capitalizing on the status of the NDP and sleeping with Trudeau...After all he is only 2 months away from a pension, Many NDP MPs are coasting on fact that they would loose their seat in there was a new election.
I agree. Tbh he is the most intelligent person in canadian politics but all the mainstream media imo wants to play is buzz words and slogans. Jagmeet is for the people hees legit a great dude
@@kalenluck It isn't dumb because on the last NDP convention it was voted as a priority now that handguns have essentially been banned, members of the NDP who want the military disbanded to fund essential programs like heathlcare, etc have a hard time getting off the ground without additional funding from somewhere. Even Jagmeet is quoted saying _"not yet"_ regarding the vote regarding disbanding the military as it didn't pass at their last convention. If you don't believe me, consult google and the news can tell you instead.
First time I really listened to Jagmeet. The NDP really needs to push this messaging HARD. What he's saying is there *is* an alternative to the constant rage-farming (Conservatives) and flowery sounding empty promises (Liberals). Let's go after the causes of our problems that are creating such inequality in our society. We need someone with the backbone to put the policies in place to do it and make it stick in the face of what is likely to be concerted efforts by the rich elites to stop it. 11:50 “Rules and decisions were made that designed a system that hurts people. Let’s change that and make it work for people… what we need to do for people who are feeling frustrated, angry, they’re being exploited and they’re given false reasons why their problems are there. Pointing to immigrants, pointing to this group or that group, using anger and directing it to things that aren’t actually the cause. Like, a trans person is not the reason your rents are so high and your groceries are unaffordable.”
So glad he mentioned the grocery store lobbyist in Poilievre inner circle. Crazy more people aren't talking about this. Should be a huge red flag to anyone sick of the high grocery prices. Also such a relief to hear a leader not scape goating minorites and actually, articulately talking about the real reasond for our problems. I want my orange crush!!
@@InvisibleHotdog there's a difference between someone having a relative who chose to go down that path and someone who chose to put a lobbyist on their board. the NDP voted for free school lunches. the Cons did not. and I think that says a lot.
During the quarter that Jagmeet was most vocal about Loblaw's they had made 3.47% profit. Please inform yourself before you do even more damage to our country. I can't teach you basic economics in a youtube comment section but you could read a book or two like an adult. Covid lockdowns, which were illegal and in plain violation of fundamental human rights, are the reason groceries are more expensive today. Government can't solve these problems. Government is creating them. Please learn about economics and have enough integrity to check your assumptions. It took 5 minutes to check Loblaw's quarterly report.
I agree with the comments that Jagmeet Singh and the federal NDP need to stop being polite about their message and hit harder. Stop being polite about climate devastation, genocide and corporate price-gouging. Rachel mentioned Singh's confrontation with those "Canada MAGA" (or whatever they were) oxygen-thieves several weeks ago. Steve Boots had an excellent point about why don't we see Singh bring that heat and controlled anger into the Commons.
Going tbh as a AB provincial NDP supporter, I find it hard to support Singh. I think he needs to be more gloves off against the CONS and now even the Libs. We saw in the recent US election how badly the Dems lost and the sensible left have all been saying the same thing, Harris wasn't being woke, and never brought up race, but she was catering too much to the Liz Cheney, Anti Trump, right wing side of things. Basically trying to move more Right, when thats not at all what people want from that party. And the second point is... political correctness and politeness is gone after the Trump era. The left needs to ditch this Bill Maher, Hillary Clinton, Justin Trudeau "Left" narrative of "we're better than the rest of the left and its your fault for not supporting us more" I'm not saying stoop to their level, but honestly Singh you better start treating them the way you did those guys in the street, take Charlie Angus as your RH man and ditch that soft, nice, political left decorum. Great speaker, very precise delivery but Homie you gotta harness that anger people are feeling, cuz PP is taking all of it and they are going to mop the floor with Ya'll and I for one don't want a Con Majority whatsoever
Unfortunately, it seems all parties are moving further right. The dems saw that gop won with such a rightward shift, so the next time the dems win, they will be able to win by offering less, as long as it's more than the GOP. All parties have to be responsible to their corporate overlords to some degree, and if they see we will accept it from the conservatives for a few terms, they only have to offer a little bit more. It's a constant rightward shift until corporations will have all the power as they do in the US. I too am worried about a conservative majority because while the liberals are garbage, austerity and cutting corporate tax rates won't trickle down. I like jags position of banning corporations from buying homes, but given all the propaganda we get on a daily basis, I'm doubtful the ndp will win. I see people who can't even afford their rent cheering on to privatize health care, which shows just how strong the propaganda is.
@theaccountant5846 It really does seem that way doesn't it. We are living in a corporatocracy and it's wild to see people continually think "trickle down" Reaganomics works. Objectively... it has not been working since that was put into place back in the 80's. That propaganda is insanely strong
@@michaeldoerksen2841 It seems my original reply to you has been deleted by UA-cam, but I agree that we are living in a corporatocracy. A lot of our problems can be traced back to Reagan, thatcher, and mulroney unfortunately. I truly hope the propaganda doesn't win, but I fear the forces are too strong. Privitization will not fix anything, other than selling our system to corporations piece by piece. I heard theyre even trying to sell the postal system in the states, let alone the other deregulation they plan on. They have more outlets than ever to pump steady propaganda into our feeds unfortunately.
@@michaeldoerksen2841 It seems my reply to you was deleted by youtube. I agree we are living in a corporatocracy, and trickle down hasn't worked since Reagan, thatcher, and mulroney, but now they are calling it privitization to make it sound more appealing and unfortunately, people are buying it.
@theaccountant5846 I saw that OG comment not show up, all good. It seems like it yes, but at the same time there is a weird shift going on right now. Gen Z are ditching smart phones, there's a huge "online" anti tech/ consumerist movement going on right now as well. I put Online in quotations because part of that movement is limiting yourself to online activity through small consumption at a Computer. Check out dumbphone, and anti tech, anti consumerism. All are gaining massive traction and will start to give you a little more hope in these dark times
Noooo he will blame it on Conservatives playing games. Not the fact that every time he acts tough and pretends to be against the liberals, he ends up supporting them. He’s a complete joke
The only people who want an election right now are the Conservatives! Why would he want to help them? Canadians are struggling enough right now, why give the Cons their chance to put the final nail in the coffin? Because no matter how much PP tells you that he’s got the answers, trust me, unless you’re a millionaire, his solutions won’t help you.
Found Rachel after seeing her on The Serfs on twitch, this is the first video I've watched and LOVE that you have Jagmeet on. I think This gentleman perfectly represents the basic needs of working class Canadians. I push back against those on the left who hide their bigotry towards him by claiming "he's unelectable." If all the ones making that claim simply voted for him, he would be elected. Thank you Rachel, and thank you Jagmeet. You both give me hope.
I wonder how long Canada will define "carrying around a rusty religious dagger" that is not stainless steel as a right (jagmeet does this) given how all firearms are slated to be banned by 2035. Odd that the NDP leader would promote that "EDC" as they call it in America. Perhaps he would be better to converse with Trump over the likes of Justin Trudeau who may also be unofficial NDP for all intensive purposes.
What a day this has been. First I saw Charlie Angus being interviewed on The Midas Touch and Rachel interviewing Jagmeet. I am 😂😁🥰 feeling so much better, thank you.
Can't the problem of corporate landlords raising rents be solved easily by implementing rent controls? Of course that's a provincial issue, so how would the federal NDP take action?
I feel this... Idk how they'd be able to implement this to individual provinces. Here in AB Smith is all on board with the "Axe the Tax" Con slogan and I find it ironic considering she's pointing the finger at the Fed Lib party for making things more expensive through a Carbon tax. And well I don't like the Carbon tax myself, I feel like us paying a fuel tax and SIN taxes on things is more than enough that could easily go to fighting emissions without implementing a "new tax". The UCP have lifted the rent cap in AB, unregulated our energy companies, (which is the Actual reason for our high energy bills and NOT the 0.03% Carbon tax) and unregulated our insurance companies. CON hypocrisy at its finest, those are the real reasons for things being more expensive!
@@michaeldoerksen2841 I think you're right. At a federal level, a government could alter CMHC rules, and force mortgages on rental properties to be fixed rate (potentially subsidized, in areas deemed to need lower cost, stabilized housing), to prevent landlords from hiking rents to cover the interest rate spikes we saw with variable rate loans during the recent bout of inflation. That was responsible for a lot of the affordability crisis, for a lot of people. Taxing profits on real estate appreciation, particularly for investment properties, is another action that could be taken at the federal level. Both, however, are politically unpopular with people who see real estate appreciation as an easy way to 'get ahead' in Canada's economy.
We solved it in the past by building massive amounts of public housing after the second world war, but those programs got the axe in the 90s. Newfoundland seems to be the only province I've heard of talking about building more public housing, picking the land, doing public consultations, etc.
@@Zyo117we also had the capacity to do this back after WW2 because Canada and US became manufacturing hubs for the war effort. Our economy is nowhere as industrial or dominating anymore, so we don’t produce the same capital that we would have back then. We have also introduced monetary theory and globalized substantially more since then, not to mention saturated a lot of the major economic hubs where folks are most likely to live and find jobs in Canada. Without creating more urban sprawl or forcing municipal housing changes, it would be impossible to have this occur from the federal level. I think a better approach is to incentivize repairs or replacement of dilapidated housing in the inner city, but that requires the purchase of that land and displacement of likely squatters. I am a bigger fan of regulation through the bank and CMHC which would encourage funding more affordable housing and coop development without direct federal intervention.
I struggle with the ndp. I am a disabled cancer survivor in bc. I have written to Jagmeet, called his office, written my Mps and Mlas about my poverty situation. Not one response. The CDB could actually help us. Jagmeet and the ndp aren't making it happen any better.
@dotkyo89 Are you even aware he was a lawyer and has no need for a pension? I often see you guys referencing his rolex as well, not even being aware that it was a gift from his law firm.
The NDP are not even the opposition, what kind of power are you expecting from the NDP at the federal level? Did you reach out to the conservative leadership? I wonder what their response would be...
@aleksanderjovic9896 Now you know as well as I do that the conservatives don't care whatsoever about poor or middle class, and don't even really care for the rich too much beyond their donors. Writing a conservative mp only helps if you want to attack cultural issues, not financial ones. Their job is to make those more difficult.
Pension date should be Feb 25, 2025 - Became an MP Feb 25, 2019 - Min 6 years needed, totally disgusting. He is truly putting Canada first and not playing silly games.
15:40 I want to push back a bit on that answer: because it ignores the "big picture". He may have deliberately avoided mentioning the (lack of) response to the ongoing covid pandemic. The first thing Alberta did in the pandemic was strip the Chief Medical officer of her emergency powers. By overruling the CMOH: Alberta politicians are essentially practicing medicine without a license. Pandemic management obviously requires specialized knowledge: including how exponential growth and decay works.
It seems too many of the electorate in Alberta are just ignorant of Smiths’ lies, half-truths, and gaslighting, or they just ignore them. How so many ignore or forget her spreading misinformation about COVID-19 and supporting medical quackery.
CMOH was corrupt and her calls devastated our economy with overbearing and heavy handed measures. They devastated the middle class by closing their businesses while they allowed large corporations to remain open.
@@ianmaidment2258 well it's hard to say .... a conspiracy theorist might postulate that the NDP's initiative to stop oil and gas exploration/exploitation might actually consequently defund the Bloc Quebecois due to Alberta sending Quebec "equalization payments" of which Alberta is already trying to stop. It's a form of political warfare. The NDP isn't really all that bad as people think.
@@campsitez2355China is building huge coal plants? UAE is a massive oil producer. When are you going to tell them to stop? Never. Canada has one of the lowest Carbon footprints in the world. A government housing initiative would go a loooong way towards solving our housing problems. Have the government employee people to construct affordable, non-market housing in every major city across the country.
Government housing is the only way Canadians can combat the "American Castle Doctrine" that permits people to defend themselves in a situation like Portapique where a crazed madman is on the loose and the RCMP tell you to stay at your fixed home address so the gunman can reliably find you.
government housing is your answer? wtf!!?? we need to cut government red tape and let people build homes. Thats it. We dont need more drug infested housing projects.
Messaging is so important. The NDP need to advertise. Traditional television, online, everywhere. Singh needs to talk to every podcast, news channels, everything. One major mistake Kamila Harris made was not going on Joe Rogan's podcast. If we dont try to get through to the right leaning audience, to try to get them on the right track they'll stay on the wrong track. Singh should try to get on Rogan's podcast, Rogan talks about canada alot, so lets try to talk to him and getting him to see our needs and what we need isn't corporate tax cuts.
@InvisibleHotdog They could if they use free media like this to get their message out and fundraise. Their not having a lot of money is actually a good sign as it means they aren't selling out like the other parties.
@@platinumangel7446 they have no money because they were still paying off the loan they took for the last election. Why would you want that type of economic management?

I do however think the NDP should have a leadership race now leading up to the next election if we want to have that Jack Layton official opposition run
IN MY OPINION ndp needs new leader he just needs to go being a good leader has to to with integrity and saying truth. He does not follow through and could have forced the changes he's says he is against by putting it forward and voting non confidence as promised.
I agree. I love Jag, I think he has delivered NDP policy but this party has lost dozens of seats and needs a new leader and the publicity of a leadership race to move the needle

Optimism doesn't sell well to the fearful nor the angry. Right now Canada is full of people who feel angry and scared. That is why the Conservatives will win huge in the next election, because they are masters of courting anger and stoking fear. Well that and our outdated, abysmal First Past the Post electoral system. If Singh was genuinely concerned for the welfare of Canadians he would push electoral reform. If Canada had proportional representation there would never ever be another Majority Conservative government, healthcare would no longer be subject to privatization. So long as First Past the Post is in place the danger of less than 40% popular vote translating into majority government is very, very real.
False, but the left can only accuse others of what they are doing. Not only is Justin Trudeau going to be voted out, Jagmeet Singh will be investigated for crimes against humanity. You all think we forgot what happened during the pandemic but we didn't. You all think we forgot about agenda 2030 from the W.E.F but we didn't. You all think we forgot how Justin Trudeau tried to hand over Canada's sovereignty to the United Nations but we didn't.
a lot of conservative people put their vote behind a man who has a liberal degree in a liberal degree program "political science"... so you might just be better off with someone from a profession in the field of law like Jagmeet who wants to shut down the Alberta Tarsands to actually fight climate change once and for all. I just wonder if that will hurt the Bloc Quebecois because of all those "equalization payments" that will no longer go to Quebec. Maybe there will be a huge 2nd large "orange wave" there over that.
@@campsitez2355Suriname just found a massive oil deposit, are you going to tell them to shut it down because of climate change? Great job, Rachel. I’d like to see jagmeet do more of these interviews. It’s better to see him in this type of place than the MMS who treat the NDP as more of a tiny sound bite.
So the Jenni Byrne Singh mentioned, according to her Wiki page, has a consulting firm with lots of lobbyists registered for Loblaws. Why isn’t this put on blast by Singh? Just like that super expensive microsuite in DT Vancouver that was put on blast by Pollievre for being the fault of Trudeau is owned by a donor to the CPC.

He knows that splitting the left vote will give the country to the Conservatives. The left needs to unite or we're all as screwed as the US is under Trump
I have always thought Jasmeet was the best of the party leaders, but there is no chance of an NDP winning in Etobicoke. What would he do to stop the Conservatives getting those seats?
My issue with the NDP is that they don't act like we're about to lose the country to conservative fascism. They proceed like everything will work out if they just keep doing what they're doing. They need to pivot to the left and also need to do a much better job of getting their messages out there, beyond the people who will already vote for the NDP. They should also consider bringing Sarah Jama and Chloe Brown into the party to learn how to capture the independent votes.
You mean Sarah Jama who ignores the fact that her own Somalian Canadian people are suffering because of Justin Trudeau? You mean Sarah Jama the rape apologist???
Some of this is good. But I really want to see more from Jagmeet that mirrors what Bernie Sanders does: Present the evidence of the problem with the system as it is. Then be more specific about the solutions you’re proposing. I know this is a short(ish) interview, but the messaging is too high level. Take some strong stances we can get behind.
As much as I like what Bernie says, at the same time I see him as a an old windbag who invariably campaigns for whatever he purports to be against. He campaigned for Biden and claimed he was a progressive champion even after there was no question Biden was semi-braindead and unfit for office not to mention Bernie knowing his well known record of conservative form. What Bernie does in the US is called sheep-dogging in order to keep the liberals tethered to the "left" wing of the one Party War & Big Business Inc. You know Bernie is full of it at times, wheh he said Biden-Harris were the champions of the working class.
Really well done Rachel! This is the type of journalism we need right now; fun, informative, honest and most of all, real! As a life long Liberal, I voted NDP this last election in Manitoba and absolutely loved this. I do not know why people discount Jagmeet. Of course racism and misogyny are a thing, the reason why so many are afraid of leaders who are POC or women but we have to be better than that here in Canada. We cannot succumb to this type of doomerism. I am headed back to BC and sure, politicians are not perfect and get things wrong. The NDP there have lost some ground but reality needs to wrestle back the narrative so we can continue to work on what's important. The world overall is headed towards hardship, a hardship that is exasperated by large corporations that wish to not just keep things status quo, but actually get even richer than they've ever been (America is now seeing the rise of trillionaires ffs!). We need to be careful not to create straw man arguments and boogiemen though, a left wing doomerism if you will... but anyway, keep it up, please!!
if the liberals drop out, he may very well be.... Bill C-63 could imprison any sitting MP simply because they applauded a war criminal. Don't forget the NDP still has a very good chance to form government as they're so far from "far right" it isn't even funny.
Singh's goal at this point is to try to make sure the conservatives get a minority government, which will give him the leverage he needs to get his policies through, but that's the best he can do. There's no chance the NDP wins the election however, given that conservatives have a 20% lead and it's only getting bigger over time.
@ I was kidding. Because society has become so polarized and so extreme, you have to disguise your critique, you can’t make it obvious or else you will be called far right.
I really like how NDP MP Michael Green allowed Kristian Firth to completely testify about that Liberal Scandal regarding ArriveCan by not being under oath. Kristian is still walking a free man right now. It was the right thing to do.
Awesome get and great job Rachel! I really wish jagmeet would’ve answered the leftist question more direct. It’s a path forward for Federal NDP. Again amazing job Rachel!
It’s all well and good for Jagmeet to be hopeful and reject doomerism but is anyone optimistic about the NDP’s chances of winning the next election? I listened to what he said and Jagmeet said all the right things and I can agree with them but do I actually think he will win the next election? I would love for the NDP to form governemt and for Jagmeet to be the next PM but the way things are going their right on track to loose really bigly in the next election. The important questions that weren’t asked what would are what would it take for enough Canadians to be inspired enough to vote for the NDP in an election and if they’re actually willing to do those things? Otherwise, the NDP is DOOMED to lose again and again.
@campsitez2355 bro you're making up lies all over the page, and you subscribe to Dr disrespect. Can you conservatives get a life besides lying and spreading disinformation?
Lol... Holy shit, bud. This is a lot of things, but cringe is not one of them. Stop trying to copy what the cool kids say if you have no sense of context.
Jagmeet ripped up the agreement! He's on the side of workers. He stepped out for 5 minutes during the confidence vote on his own words because he had a meeting! Why are conservatives so mean?!?!?!
Jagmeet Singh doesn't care about workers, he cares about his flashy suits and ties and virtue signalling. He cares about what his handlers at the world economic forum tell him to do.
Jagmeet might have ripped up the agreement but the current gun bans imply that the remainder of all semi-auto guns (which trivially includes single shots like the Ruger No.1 they wanted to ban in C-21) will be banned at the anniversary of the Portapique massacre as the Liberal Government can ban any and all firearms at the drop of a hat because C-68 allows them to regulate guns as such. Why they're waiting to do this is.... odd, don't you think? They had their chance.
At 1.38, he is taking about woman saying she can't get ahead, she got good job, good education, she feel that she is doing everything right still can't take vacation, have time to herself, and He said that is what lot of people feeling like, HE SAID that, but he is in power along with Justin, why is he not doing something about it, Is he waiting for opposition to do something about it, literally, this guy is so bad, I can't even understand why anyone would vote for NDP and Liberal, after them in power for 10 years and bringing the country to worse state country is in right now. He himself is admitting that people are struggling, now they gonna blame everybody in the world except failure of their policies. Next election can't come soon enough, hope he loses his seat along with Justin.
Jagmeet doesn't care about the people of Canada. He's a rich elitist who plays a character. He only cares about money, just like the rest of them. If he was a man of the people he would act like the president of Uruguay.
Exactly! HE along with Justin are the reason for the economy. They couldn't start change in the last 4 years he propped up the liberals?! GTFO here. Ripped agreement my ass
Canadians. We all think of ourselves as regular Canadians, and kinda smart, yes? Although, we all know there are those among us who are stupid and don't know they're stupid, that they think of themselves as us, regular Canadians. After all, no one goes around thinking, hey, I'm stupid. But we know we ain't them, we know why we think the way we do, we heard it somewhere we trusted, once, because trust don't come cheap, we believed that voice and we're smart, we got it, no need for further thinking. And there is absolutely no reason, while without knowing the actual, full story of 'why', that we shouldn't have an opinion, that's our right because we're smart. Both the Liberal and Conservative governments have won elections on prayers, promises, and the offer of a better tomorrow for all Canadians, and then lost because of lies, Parliamentary misconduct and corruption. Canada needs to reform, and with so many smart Canadians out there, we need electoral reform. We need representation by population. If 25% of the country votes for those folk, well they should have 25% of the seats in Parliament. If other folks have 10% of the vote, well they should have 10% in Parliament. Ect... I am an old Canadian, and tire of the same old...
Intelligence and wisdom are not correlated and wisdom without courage is worthless if it can exist at all. Now ask yourself. Did you see Canadians behave as wise and courageous people would during the pandemic? You'll have answered some of your own questions if you answer that honestly.
I'm a person of average intelligence... Which means I am just smart enough to know that their is a lot that I don't know. I will give an opinion that's like a broken clock. Occasionally be somewhat intelligent sounding, but more often than not... be the usually garbage that pollutes the internet. If I was smarter I would avoid commenting at all, because the intelligent "sounding" stuff might be just convincing enough to actually warp the mind of others that should be listening to smarter people than me.
Why is the NDP so racist towards indigenous Canadians? Why don't they want Indigenous Canadians to benefit from the oil on their lands? Suriname Indigenous people have been blessed with oil, nobody tells them that they are not allowed to benefit from thier own natural resources.

@@firealarmapprentice4517 you mean the plans the NDP have to limit unhealthy food consumption that is taking its toll on the healthcare industry? They want to allow for the freedom of the government to tell McDonalds what foods they can and can't sell. Already Jagmeet was pretty happy with how the government combatted misinformation by censoring many of the conspiracy theories about the vaccines. Obviously the NDP want to expand the government's freedom to combat hateful speech online - not just conspiracy theories - and that's how bill c-63 will help censor political hacks funded by the russians like lauren southern who will go directly to prison the day c-63 obtains royal assent. The only unfortunate part is that they haven't built the prison to keep these "special prisoners" in yet because they're not regular criminals but rather prisoners of a different kind - the kind Canada is getting ready to deal with, kind of like with the truckers who spent 4 years in prison. And all of these great things can happen with but one more Liberal Government because they've proven they'll work with the NDP so Jagmeet doesn't even have to be prime minister at all.
I think the NDP has its heart in the right place, but they touched on one of my problems with the party. What are their plans? Show me a real plan. Mr. Singh puts forward a lot of good ideas but until I see him and the NDP do something now, even before they are in power, then I question him. I also want to point out that while he is talking about landlords he, himself, is the owner of several properties. I would also like to see him talk about how, as Prime Minister, would bring CANZUK into being with our allies. I usually vote NDP, but I need to see more. I would also like to see the Co-operative business structure as part of the NDP message. We do NOT have democracy in our business and economic structure and this is the reason we have the problems. Good video. Shared it.
The NDP was reported to be in massive amounts of debt... it is doubtful they have enough for another election so.... it will be in October for sure. The agreement doesn't determine whether they're ready for an election, their fiscal planning does and it will.

LOL. Conservatives call this socialism and all sorts of isms, yet sounds good. Cut GST, stop corporations screwing us. Hmmm.
Because Singh doesn't care he knows he's on his way out, he's just stalling this as long as he can
Going tbh as a AB provincial NDP supporter, I find it hard to support Singh. The left needs to ditch this Bill Maher, Hillary Clinton, Justin Trudeau "Left" narrative of "we're better than the rest of the left and its your fault for not supporting us more"
I'm not saying stoop to their level, but honestly Singh you better start treating them the way you did those guys in the street, take Charlie Angus as your RH man and ditch that soft, nice, political left decorum.

Odd that the NDP leader would promote that "EDC" as they call it in America. @@campsitez2355 Stop it.
CON hypocrisy at its finest, those are the real reasons for things being more expensive!
that would be a great way to halt ALL new construction of rental units
Awesome questions. Great interview. I hope you can invite people from both sides.

This is a perfect combination. These two doing an interview! Priceless!
Some great policy statements here. Please turn up the volume on these solutions.

Sellout Singh is going to lose his riding
PP, is that you?
Singh's goal at this point is to try to make sure the conservatives get a minority government, which will give him the leverage he needs to get his policies through, but that's the best he can do. There's no chance the NDP wins the election however, given that conservatives have a 20% lead and it's only getting bigger over time.
They thought this in Ontario in 1990 with NDP. Rae didn't have a speech, he literally had no expectation they'd win.
Jagmeet Singh is a true defender of the working class.
A bit much. I like him more than the other major party candidates for sure though.
yes a true defender of the failed Marxist ideology
@ I was kidding. Because society has become so polarized and so extreme, you have to disguise your critique, you can’t make it obvious or else you will be called far right.
@@masseymm You wouldn't know a marxist from a pedicurist, obviously.
He says one thing and does the opposite. The guy is a flake.
We have NDP in my riding and Mr. Cannings is a superstar. Sad he will retire when we need a good leader here still
I really like how NDP MP Michael Green allowed Kristian Firth to completely testify about that Liberal Scandal regarding ArriveCan by not being under oath. Kristian is still walking a free man right now. It was the right thing to do.
I greatly support Jagmeet and the NDP. They have helped so much
Awesome get and great job Rachel!
The NDP are right to want to disband the Canadian Military. Am I right?
@campsitez2355 bro you're making up lies all over the page, and you subscribe to Dr disrespect. Can you conservatives get a life besides lying and spreading disinformation?
As the kids would say, Cringe! Neither of you are helping the other.
Jagmeet singhs the biggest wolf in sheeps clothing ive ever seen

Holy crap, you’re reading into it a lot eh.
100 percent
Intelligence and wisdom are not correlated and wisdom without courage is worthless if it can exist at all. Now ask yourself. Did you see Canadians behave as wise and courageous people would during the pandemic? You'll have answered some of your own questions if you answer that honestly.
I'm a person of average intelligence... Which means I am just smart enough to know that their is a lot that I don't know.
I will give an opinion that's like a broken clock. Occasionally be somewhat intelligent sounding, but more often than not... be the usually garbage that pollutes the internet.
If I was smarter I would avoid commenting at all, because the intelligent "sounding" stuff might be just convincing enough to actually warp the mind of others that should be listening to smarter people than me.
well done
Why is the NDP so racist towards indigenous Canadians? Why don't they want Indigenous Canadians to benefit from the oil on their lands? Suriname Indigenous people have been blessed with oil, nobody tells them that they are not allowed to benefit from thier own natural resources.
I hope more news shows are interviewing him. I feel like PP is getting so many interviews and yet Jagmeet is not getting the same coverage?
If we had a long form podcast that had the influence Joe Rogan has in the States and this guy had a chance to talk like this, I think he could get some traction in the poles. The mainstream media doesn’t do him justice. Good interview. 👍
NDP has great ideas but they aren't going to be the government. It is sad that the liberals decline hasn't made the NDP grow more supporters, instead the cons have more support and NDP is stagnant.
No they terrible ideas that won't work and don't work. He is in absolute idiot. He doesn't care about you all he is doing is keeping this terrible liberal government in power so he can collect his pension. The dude literally drives a Maserati, wears 40k watches and 5k suits. He is the literal definition of a Champaign socialist.
Why wouldn't Canadians elect the NDP to have the Alberta Tarsands completely shut down to combat climate change and have the Canadian Military disbanded to fund the projects they want to offer?
can you name some of those great ideas ?
@@firealarmapprentice4517 didn't you watch the video?
Good video. Shared it.
CANZUK needs more attention. More than ever we need to broaden our trading partner support or we are so unbelievably b0n3d as a country
The NDP was reported to be in massive amounts of debt... it is doubtful they have enough for another election so.... it will be in October for sure. The agreement doesn't determine whether they're ready for an election, their fiscal planning does and it will.

Please steer the NDP in more real liberal way, skip the middle, we all share a lot that makes it easy to get along when we all have money, a clean ecosystem and natural places protected, and can start a business, and can buy a home. Make mobile home villages that are stepping stones to owning a house or condo, depending on your market. Make more green areas, make them bigger, and let us create Canada while the government stakes our claim in the world markets better. Get more interested in legalizing cannabis and share that with us. Make industrial hemp a thing!
Of course no doomerism for Maserati socialist. He will get his pension. He voted against his own words to support Trudeau in the confidence vote. Gig is up. NDP have decided to go down with liberals and they deserve it.
Everything is fine in Canada for the elite. For their subjects however, things get worse every day.
Does the NDP have a plan to compensate for the GST they will remove? Or will this decision raise national debt? Genuinely curious.. Hoping that whatever solutions come they dont create bigger problems for our country.
Seriously, worried about not paying enough taxes? LOL. Stopping subsidies to corporations and making them pay their fair share of taxes. And the wealthy need to pay more taxes. This offsets the GST the low income aka the majority pays.
Can't wait for Singh to be voted out. Lmao
unlikely. you're talking about a group of people in the most expensive living conditions in the world who vote for him. they do it for a reason - they're still there.
@@campsitez2355Not only will Singh be voted out, the NDP will lose party status. Jagmeet Singh got rich by pretending to care about the poor. Totally against his own sikh faith and he will pay a huge price for trying to ruin Canadian and ruining his own people in the process.
If you look at 338 Canada, both the areas his riding represents, are either Conservative leaning, or 50/50 Conservative/NDP. They use many different polls to get an average.
Thus, I double down, I can not wait, for Singh to be voted out. It is only gonna get worse for him as he keeps Liberals in power and Liberals shoot down his bills and demands. Lmao

It seems like a wasted opportunity, to have just pulled their support. Or did I miss something? That’s definitely a question I would have wanted asked.

If the Lib/NDP hadn't wrecked the economy in the first place we wouldn't need all these programs.
These programs enslave people because they make them dependent on the government to survive. It creates class warfare because the people who pay for the ever increasing burden of the state with their labour get fed up paying for a bunch of freeloaders with the sweat off their back.
Meanwhile people like Jagoff and Turdeau get rich beyond their wildest dreams and leave nothing but a pile of ashes left as they walk away from what was once Canada
