Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) provides considerable opportunities to assist human work. However, one crucial challenge of human-AI collaboration is that many AI algorithms operate
in a black-box manner where the way how the AI makes predictions remains opaque. This
makes it difficult for humans to validate a prediction made by AI against their own domain knowledge. For this reason, we hypothesize that augmenting humans with explainable
AI improves task performance in human-AI collaboration. To test this hypothesis, we implement explainable AI in the form of visual heat maps in inspection tasks conducted by
domain experts. The results of our experiments show that task performance significantly improves when participants are supported by explainable AI with heat maps instead of black-box AI.

This course integrates real technologies from manufacturing into a class of 20-30 students to gradually develop a more productive truck factory. The factory is the classroom, and the trucks are built with LEGO bricks. Besides learning about fundamental principles in production management, we showcase four technologies that contribute to end-to-end digitization of a production system: additive m...

This is an assumptiom that the supplier always has supply
The amount of times I’ve ordered and then a week later they say “oh by the way we don’t have what you ordered” …😢 I do keep my inventory pretty lean but safety stock is a must for unreliable suppliers
I was gonna watch this but this guys mustache is awful and annoying to look at.
Can i increase the bin quantity ?
very helpful thank you
from Somalia , very useful clip and will continue watching your moustache as usual.
Hi to 🇸🇴! You’re welcome to admire the videos and mustache 👌🏼
This was so helpful. This is going to help my case study write-up 1000%. Great video.
Thanks
Superb
Excellent panel. Thanks Eric and Jurriaan for organizing on behalf of POMS College of Operational Excellence.

Love the content, big thank
Excellent explanation!!😊
How it will be relate with process of unit, batch shop, discrete, continuous flow??
Thanks
Very Helpful especially with the graphics. Thank you
Gotta love that moustache!
Very helpful, thank you!
the challenge with the pull system is costs per part are probably higher
You very good, thank you for this is cours i help for understand all sytem production.
good insights
Never knew Salvador Dali was a Supply Chain specialist
GOOD
This fascinating session delves deeply into the core of the supply chain, such as the JIT concept, and operational models as push and pull models, instead of just playing around with the hype trend about technological things. Personally, I was waiting for the distinguished professors to mention the words "postponement strategies" or ""delayed activities" as its positioning between MTS and MTO in a global setting (because it's what I am researching. haha). In fact, "postponement" closely relates to the joint projects of Prof. Thomas Choi and Prof. John Olhanger concerning locating strategic inventory locations along supply chains, the concept of the segment supply chain of Prof. Nada Sander and the ability to reserve capacity along with using buffer stocks to match actual demand (think of supply chain fulcrum) that Prof. Sodhi also mentions at the end. Overall, I am very honoured to hear from the great minds that I do admire a lot. Thank you, POM_ETH Zurich channel, for the recording.
Thanks for your thoughtful comment Trung! Do you know that a paper was published open-access as a result of this webinar? Link below.
