  • Dmitry Plekhanov gives a brief introduction to TRIZ - a problem-solving method of Russian origins. TRIZ is a method of problem solving that involves identifying a specific problem, reducing it to its essentials, finding a general solution in a TRIZ database, and designing a specific solution. Developed by Russian engineer Genrikh Altshuller, it has been implemented by companies and research agencies to develop products more efficiently. The theory states that technological progress and innovations can be predictable and governed by certain rules, and that structured and systematic approaches are necessary for innovation. It can also be used to solve physical and technical contradictions and generate new ideas.
