I will be putting this book on my TBR. I just finished The Woman by Kristen Hannah. Great book. Now reading The woman they could not silence. It’s for book club. Not sure if I’m going to like it or not. Just starting it.

i love this - i've done dipped pretzel sticks for christmas in the past but this is something i can make AND enjoy - i just need gf pretzels. the candy warmer is such a good idea as well as saving the leftover candy for the next time. i think i melted mine in a makeshift double boiler. we are back to hot. the reprieve (highs in low 90's) was wonderful but we know it wasn't going to stay. watching for area fires (as i know you are too). stay cool as you can & safe.

This one is on my reading wish list. Now, I really want to read it. I love WWII era books too. Many in my family had WWII stories they told me as a little girl. I feel like when I read a WWII novel I am sitting in a Kansas kitchen on a hot Summer day snapping green beans while my elders share their stories. I am writing a book that is set in a bookstore, lol. Not WWII but definitely a war book. This book is taking a billion years to write. I have wrote over four hundred chapters. This is going to be a series book. It is Dynasty meets Winds of War. I am reading Tomi Adeyemi's Children of Anguish & Anarchy. This is the last in the series of the Orisha series. It is amazing. I rarely buy books new but when I read it was going to be released I pre-ordered it. This is a fantasy series. It does remind me a lot of Roots.

i do love reading ww1 to ww2 books. i see there are a couple more books by barbara davis that seem to fall in that era. i am so looking forward to being able to read again. it is one of my biggest pleasures so i am hopefully when all is done with my eye, i can enjoy reading again. i see we are WARMING UP AGAIN. yesterday was just wonderful. going outside without "melting" - what a concept, eh? i hope it's not too bad up your way. take care and stay cool as you can.

I learned so much in this video. I never heard of the dis coloration with the carrots before. I make carrot cakes and have ever had that happen to me. But good to know.

this is the perfect time - my son has way too many raw carrots in the fridge so i will give this a try tomorrow. just need to be up early so the kitchen doesn't turn into an oven. i do like carrots - they have a sweetness that i pick up so i cook them frequently for me. it is supposed to hit 107f here today. just typing that has drained my energy. i do have to go out today but it is this morning so hopefully it isn't bad. stay cool, keep hydrated - we don't want to dry up and blow away, right?

We missed you at the meet up but totally understand. Hopefully we can all get together in October. If I wouldn’t have found a care giver to come sit with my husband I wouldn’t have gone either because of the heat. Just in case any thing would have happened like a power outage.

Hello my dear. Yes this heat is no joke. I worry about the electricity going out with my husband bedridden right now it would not be good. It’s supposed to be 113 here tomorrow and Friday. Oh no root canal. I’m the queen of crowns and root canals. Ugh. I’m getting a new crown put on in a couple weeks. Oh geeze you have fires popping up everywhere around you! How scary. It breaks my heart to see seniors so poor and broke. I deliver the medication for our pharmacy to different people who can’t leave their homes or don’t have transportation to get to us. Some homes I deliver to with seniors breaks my heart.
