what a nice friend, sharing the bounty. i am so ready for under 100 temps. last night, despite no cooking, the kitchen was 95. the fires are so scary. thankfully the big one, near oroville, has been contained. bless those water helicopters and every man & woman on the lines. it takes a knowledgeable, brave person to walk toward the fire to fight it. seeing people working with bulldozers to build trenches right next to the fire. far braver than i, to be sure. stay cool as you can and sate too. have a good monday and week.
Our firefighters are "something else". Working in this heat - so close to the fires - and keeping us safe. Special place in heaven for them, for sure.

Than you so much - we get a lot of fires up here unfortunately However we have great firefighting forces and law enforcement up here, so in that case, we are lucky. The veggies were just a wonderful gift!

Thank you so much. I do have another fan downstairs in the basement area, but haven't brought it up yet. I'm doing OK. This heatwave is definitely testing my endurance.

That produce was literally a wonderful gift. I gave 2 cucumbers to one of my food bank clients who likes raw vegetables and salads. He was thrilled!

I am glad you are safe from the fires. I have been thinking of you. I love the haul, especially your friends garden. The plums are gorgeous. I do worry about you with no cooling. Can you get some extra ice and put it in front of a fan?
Thank you so much! I'm actually doing OK. Resting during the day and getting up early in the mornings to get the bulk of things done. Not a fan of the heatwaves, that's for sure.
