- I'm sure many of you have one of these little dipper mini crockpots stuck away in your kitchen somewhere! Well as it turns out, they are very useful for all sorts of cooking tasks and making oatmeal is just one of them!

Thank you so much! It was in the 100's yesterday - it is so exhausting! I have several mini crockpots, they are so useful, I uses them all the time. One of my favorite uses is to make beans in there. I don't need a huge amount of beans at any given time so this is perfect.

I have four of those mini crockpots. I pick them up at garage sales, etc., since people don't use them. I use mine frequently for small amounts of cooking. Especially beans.

i'm tempted to get a little crockpot so i can do this too. i used to do a single serve of oatmeal (measured not packet) while i fed the kitties then stir in some peanut butter. however i switched over to gf bread with pb in am as the pot was always a stick on mess despite frequent stirring. how badly does the oatmeal stick to the crockpot? i have some bob's red mill scottish oats i need to use (picked it up on close out) so i suspect it will take longer. if i do try it, i'll let you know how i did it etc.
it is too dang hot here. the small portable ac unit works well in my bedroom. i get full am sun so it helps to decrease the big warm up and i leave it on 74 which is comfy for me. i hope you are keeping cool as you can. we have 104 predicted for today with small decreases to 95 by wednesday. whoooooooot, eh?
If you fill up the pot with water immediately after taking the oatmeal out, it will wash out fine. If you don't do that, the oatmeal sticks, like you experienced. It has been really hot, but I've been out of town a bit , so missed a lot of this round, thank goodness.
