Thank you so much! It was such a hot day and the heat wave continues....
Same here, the heat has arrived and it has been breath taking. What a beautiful bag pf produce, wow! I can see where having to count every fruit would be very confusing when the line is rolling. 750 people, wow...that is a HUGE increase. Folks are struggling, thank goodness they have a way to get some food. It is scary to think that so mant people do not have any food put back for an emergency. Thank you for giving your time and all the hard work you do to help others, it is so important. May you be blessed beyond measure🙌
It is scary how many people are waiting for food nowadays. Like the great depression, all those lines. Now there are parking lots full of cars waiting. Many people pick up not just for themselves but for others, too. I really enjoy working at the food bank. The work itself is very satisfying and the other volunteers and food bank employees are a pleasure to work with,
you are awesome. you are wise to have cut back but i know you do love to help your neighbors and provide deliveries to those who can not get out. 750 families- wow. the need keeps growing. people can only work so many extra jobs. it's good they separated the seniors to another location.
talk about hot weather - geeez. we are pushing 102f today. yesterday i ordered a room ac unit as it is just too hot here. our central air has been out for a few years. with all the other work, we just can not swing replacing it now. so will cool down my bedroom as it was rough yesterday and last night. i will push to pay it off sooner as i can. thankfully it is interest free from home depot.
please take care, keep hydrated and try to keep outside activities to early in the day. i'll be setting my alarm so i'm up and done by 9 or 10.
I am hoping that there is a calming of this heat wave tomorrow. The nights are awful because they usually cool down up here, but not these last couple of days. I'm up real early, too, try to get it all done before the full brunt of the sun.

@@karenjones1897 You probably could - I have a friend with a quarter acre vegetable garden and she gardens in the dark with a head lamp when the season gets crazy. I just wouldn't be that thrilled about running into a night creature while doing that!

I was thinking of you and the horrible heat wave you are currently in. Please be careful and rest a lot. That breaks my heart that so many are in need. I was reading yesterday that cooling our homes will be more expensive this year. That most people are having to make a decision between staying cool or buying food.
Thank you so much! The heat has been very compelling. Was just talking to a friend of mine who is avoiding cooling her house at night anymore because it is so expensive. I just checked and California is the second most expensive state for power after Hawaii. I know that I watch my power consumption all the time and it still costs a fortune

It has been crazy I can usually count on the evening to cool everything down, but no dice this week! I did pull out the ice making machine and I guess that will now be going full speed ahead for the next few months

OMG that's harsh. We just left one behind, thank goodness. They are really draining.
