HI @JackBass9 I said that somewhere in these comments. The issue is that there are a lot of AI-producing videos on UA-cam that are very confusing and people are getting panicked. And even if you google "New EU rules to standardize carry-on luggage", there are articles out there that make it sound like there are new limitations. But you are 100% correct. These are not new, but it was still worthy of explaining so that people who are just getting their feet wet with travel are not freaked out. Thanks for your comment!

I did a video about it quite a while ago, but, my presentation might have been lacking, since it was early in my UA-cam endeavors and I didn't get good viewership. HI @shawnbell6392 If you don't over-pack, it is doable. My daughter just did it, and I assisted her with her pack and she made compliance on JAL. The major issue is that you are really allowed only one bag, so you are combining both your "carry-on" and personal items into one bag, so you have to be very careful with your extras if you are not going to pay for a piece of carry-on.

@@PerriesPassport I've surrendered to 3 t- shirts and an extra pair of pants and leaving room to bring back a few things in my international carry on.

I happen to know a traveling nurse, so I know that doing this in just a personal item bag is very doable. As for your current duffel, you need to check the size of your airline's personal item size. It's usually 18x14x8 which would mean that your bag would be too big, and you could get a huge upcharge for it at the airport. Hi @shelleykeeble9992. Yes, it is considered a liquid. But then again, so is toothpaste and peanut butter, so go figure. Good question though, especially since people have started "slugging".

Yup-- There's a graphic somewhere that I really liked-- "If you can spill it, spread it, spray it, pump it or pour it, then it's a liquid." It's crazy to me that peanut butter is a liquid, but you can spread it! Same goes for Vaseline, sigh.

Been looking at backpacks for personal bags. I prefer the ones that tell me to buy my own battery pack and cables. That way I know I am under the limit and can replace easily when they die. You can probably put a new pack and wire back in that is higher quality.

@@RiverWoods111 When I did my very first UA-cam video I came across those kinds of backpacks and I have to say, that I agree with you. There was a time I would have said no, but I can see that battery life varies from battery to battery and cables wear out easily. Thanks for pointing that out!

HI @tanyas6643 We bought our Away luggage in 2017 and it came with a battery. It's been solid, and it does come with a life time guarantee, but I have to say, I doubt I would do it again, for the reasons you stated. And with the exception of my computer, I keep all my tech with batteries in one pouch that I throw into the bin open. I've never had an issue.We pretty much do everything the same way!! Haha! We just returned from 2 weeks in Germany and Austria for the Christmas markets, stayed in 7 cities, I think after dragging that big suitcase around he's starting to see the light!!!
