Great tips. First thing I do when staying in a hotel is checking that there is no one hiding in the room. Check closets, under bed, behind shower curtain and balcony.

I use detergent sheets for travel laundry. They’re “dry” and therefore don’t count as a liquid, but also pack away small. I cut one sheet into 4 little squares. One is enough to use for a pair of socks and undies or just a t-shirt or leggings. I use 2 for a pair of pjs, or a lightweight sweater or dress.

Omg, I live on Long Island and have been to Oheka Castle a few times. I got to see it before its extensive renovations. Got to see some of those rooms in its original state. Trivia: Parts of the movie Citizen Kane was filmed there. The great lawn off to the side and some interior spots. Did you get to visit any other Gold Coast homes? I also love the Vanderbilt home. Awesome tips. I add my room number, hotel name address, and the country’s emergency number in my notes app. It’s easier to locate than searching through my photos. I will definitely start using your tip for the shoes pointed to stairs. Love that one . Metal utensils is not advisable, as my on my last trip to London, my backpack was pulled out by TSA agent for extra screening because I had a camping folding metal fork. My family will not let me forget it.

I have bamboo viscose sheets. They are LOVELY to sleep on/under. They are horrible to launder. They weigh a ton when wet. Have to wash bottom sheet only then top. Dry on low takes forever still need a touch up with low iron.

Is viscose the same as bamboo or must it says “bamboo viscose”. I am so glad I stumble upon your channel today. I am very allergic to any kind of wool. Thank you.

How about the sales people that say, when you inform them that you can’t wear wool, they reply with “but it only has 20% wool” “but it’s Merino, it’s cashmere” “you can wear a layer under”. No, no. No small percentage, no layer, it just doesn’t work.

I love bamboo, but my complaint is it takes a longer time to dry, which makes it tougher to take and hand launder while on the road for a long time.

Yes to bamboo! I have a wool allergy and cannot tolerate it on my skin at all. Bamboo clothing is perfect for travel. I have bought excellent pieces from ONNO, Cozy Earth, and Boody. Bamboo sheets are soft and amazing at keeping me from overheating while sleeping.

Thank you for this video! I had invested in a short & long sleeve merino wool shirts after many recommended it. But after wearing the short sleeve shirt 1 time, it got a hole in it after I had wiped up a spill on it. I've had $5 t-shirts last years and this didn't even last 1 wearing. 😮 I patched it and then later on I found more holes after only wearing it that one time. I didn't know it was best to put them in plastic bags to protect from moths (although I've never seen any in my closet). I was definitely disappointed in that. I'm glad there is another material that is just as good and it sounds like it may be even better. I hope invisible moths don't like bamboo viscose! 😜 Thank you for the information!😁

Bamboo takes FOREVER to dry.

I have rayon items, as well as marino wool. Both are comfortable for me. Just a note: the process to make bamboo into fabric is not enviromentally friendly. My rayon knit tops do not dry quickly either. Keep in mind if one is handwashing & air drying while traveling.

I have a SmartWool shirt which is great, but very expensive. I love wearing it during the cooler months. I have never heard of bamboo clothing. I will check it out. Always looking for UV protection clothing

The only issue my husband has with his bamboo tshirts is that they are heavy. He might need to find lighter versions. Merino is so expensive.
