    Hi Everyone. I found this new method of creating a capsule wardrobe for a trip, to be revolutionary. I hope that you do, too!

      Hi @696969bold It really does help prevent you from bringing the wrong stuff. It used to happen to me all the time, and then I started to think before I packed!

    I travelled around Italy for a week and then went on a Mediterranean cruise and I used the 5-4-3-2-1 formula. I packed everything into a personal item sized back pack: five tops, four bottoms, three dresses, two pairs of shoes, one blazer, one bathing suit, and one windbreaker. I also packed three scarves. I had everything I needed for sight seeing, cruise formal dinners, train travel, etc. I also had a black nylon cross body purse as my actual personal item. It’s a crescent shaped bag which, though small, holds my noise cancelling headphone case and inflight things I need like toiletries, snacks, and emergency supplies as well as a small notebook with attached pen, and a fresh top and underwear. My husband said I wouldn’t be able to do it so of course I had to prove him wrong. 😂

    Loved the fashion show! Everyone always talks about their "capsule wardrobe" but it helps to actually see it in action (I'm a visual learner too).

      Hi @jc42598 ! It really does help to see, and I have to say that I didn't even get into the clothing I had in the emergency pack, so there were actually even more outfits to mix and match.

    I have MAJOR questions about all the items you have left out. What about toiletries? Deodorant? Shampoo/conditioner? Hairdryer? Hair appliance(s)? (curling iron, straightening iron). Cosmetics? Tampons or pads?

      Hi @kryssygee4814 ! Thank you so much! The only bag I know that is under 5lbs is the July bag. The Travel Pro Max lite is close at 5.3 lbs. Which bags do you use?

      Hi @karenhenderson5726 ! I love that Qunice bag! It's a full pound lighter than my Away bag (it's also a bit smaller, but with that wardrobe, I had extra room in the bag). There is one bag that is actually lighter by one pound, but I don't think it's worth the $245 price tag. I have to tell you that I was a bit self-conscious in that fashion show. I think my post-menopausal tummy shows, LOL.

    What a great video! I especially appreciate the part showing you wearing the various outfits! I’ll be taking a 44 day trip to Australia and New Zealand next year and this packing method looks like a possibility [I’ll still need to do some laundry.) looking forward to your next video!

      Hi @lindapark8467 ! I have now used this method for my last trip to Cali (my daughter and SIL live out there), and I found that packing this way gave me so many outfits and at this time of the year, you can get a lot of wear out of your clothing before a laundry (I also use bamboo tops since they are anti microbial since I am allergic to wool). There were actually more outfits I could have made, but I didn't want to bore people to death, LOL! Australia is on my bucket list. We are trying to figure out how to fit it into our busy schedule.

    My wife and I will soon be taking a flight on Singapore Airlines with a weight limit of 7kg for the carry on and their personal item size limit is 10x30x40cm (4x12x16 inches), which is very restrictive.

    • @PerriesPassport
      @PerriesPassport  2 місяці тому +1

      HI @billjoyce My daughter and SIL used them so I know too well how restrictive they are, and that is one of the many reasons I kept looking into new ways to do this. For the pack, I would drop an item of clothing that weighs a lot and definitely not take more than 1 pair of shoes. Also, for the personal item bag, try to blend your airline comfort bag with your toiletries and also remember that I think that there are stricter restrictions in Asia for liquids (check this out at the country you are going to). If you don't stuff the blue bag that I have in the video, it will meet compliance for them. I think I will have to modify my upcoming video to show this.

      @@PerriesPassport This weekend we went to our local flea market, Mesa Marketplace in Mesa AZ. The Asian luggage store had a 10x30x40cm bag for $7.99. We bought two of them. We even took the homemade cardboard sizer I put together and the bags fit.

    • @PerriesPassport
      @PerriesPassport  2 місяці тому

      Hi @@billjoyce, That's great, and you got a good deal on them, too! But I am not surprised. Asians are used to the restrictive luggage limits from their individual carriers, and so they would design luggage to fit them. Great idea about putting together a sizer to see if they would fit!

    Great video but as a woman in her 50s jumpsuit just no, learnt as a youngster it’s a pain to go to the toilet you have to undress just to go, same with those leotard tops we used to wear with the pop buttons in the crotch 😂

    • @PerriesPassport
      @PerriesPassport  Місяць тому

      HI @selinasnowdon2834 LMAO!!! Yeah, the jumpsuit is a bit hard in the bathroom, which I wouldn't call daily wear, but that one packs small so I like it for trips. I think it looks a little better than the hoodie I'm wearing now from my daughter's college.
