Hi @emeraldgreen7342! Thank you so much for your experiment. I love it when people can give an unbiased report on how well something I recommend works. This fabric is a lifesaver on the road and so much cheaper than wool. Can you tell us which brand you bought?
I got the Netdraw brand from Amazon. I am happy to send the link if you want. It is truly a lifesaver and I am so glad to stumble upon your channel. Thank you.
Thanks for the video o. Only issue for me for bamboo clothing for travel is they take a long time to dry. I think I'd save them for items I won't likely wash too often on a trip, like hoodies.
Hi @jmunnie00, I have never had the issue of drying it too long. By the way, bamboo is antimicrobial, which means it doesn't have to be washed too often. In that way, it's like Merino wool, but a whole lot softer and less expensive. I do have several hoodies that are bamboo and I love them. Thanks for the comment! 😺
Yes to bamboo! I have a wool allergy and cannot tolerate it on my skin at all. Bamboo clothing is perfect for travel. I have bought excellent pieces from ONNO, Cozy Earth, and Boody. Bamboo sheets are soft and amazing at keeping me from overheating while sleeping.
Hi @AJ-u2e ! You and I are on the same page. Love all those companies clothing and Quince has amazingly soft sheets. So glad to find a fellow fan of the fabric!
I have bamboo viscose sheets. They are LOVELY to sleep on/under. They are horrible to launder. They weigh a ton when wet. Have to wash bottom sheet only then top. Dry on low takes forever still need a touch up with low iron.
Hi @fs1512 ! I have them too and I have never had that issue. I have a front loader and I do max spin them, but after that, they both go into the same dryer and dry in normal time. Since several other people who commented here have said they have bamboo sheets, I wonder if they can chime in.
@@fs1512 Oh no! Try giving the sheets an extra run through the spin cycle. It might help. We all want to have strong arms, but maybe not that way, LOL!
I don't like wool at all. All your videos make my day. I've been planning a very important trip to France (first time going international and solo!) And I really want to have pieces that work well throughout my whole trip. I'm so nervous for my trip but your videos/comments make me feel like I have a good friend that's rooting me on and is providing advice. I appreciate it, and love getting the notification for your videos 😊
Hi @StarlahMutiny I'm so glad that I find my videos helpful and it makes me so happy that I connected with you! You are going to love France. Where are you going? I've been so many times, and I have a lot I can share with you. Looking forward to hearing back!
Hi @sandynbtx6967 I don't know why this was never addressed before, because so many people have wool allergies. I'm glad to have provided some alternatives for you. Try a piece and see how you like it!
Thank you for this video! I had invested in a short & long sleeve merino wool shirts after many recommended it. But after wearing the short sleeve shirt 1 time, it got a hole in it after I had wiped up a spill on it. I've had $5 t-shirts last years and this didn't even last 1 wearing. 😮 I patched it and then later on I found more holes after only wearing it that one time. I didn't know it was best to put them in plastic bags to protect from moths (although I've never seen any in my closet). I was definitely disappointed in that. I'm glad there is another material that is just as good and it sounds like it may be even better. I hope invisible moths don't like bamboo viscose! 😜 Thank you for the information!😁
Hi @EXLN LOL! My hubby had the same thing happen to him with invisible moths. And no, they don't like bamboo viscose. Give it a try. There are so many places you can buy it and it is a fraction of the cost of wool.
Hi @reneeblack2783 There is no doubt that Merino wool is a great product, but sadly for those of us who can't wear it, bamboo is a great alternative. Thanks for your comment!
Hi @lb4lov, there have been a few people who have said that, but I haven't had that issue. Maybe it's what I do after I wash it, which is squeeze roll the garments in towels before hang drying. It's always dry in the morning. Bamboo cloth will hold water if you don't do this.
Thanks from Atlanta for this video. I purchased a set of bamboo sheets years ago and they are my favorites. I gave up cashmere and merino wool years ago. I love your suggestions.

I have rayon items, as well as marino wool. Both are comfortable for me. Just a note: the process to make bamboo into fabric is not enviromentally friendly. My rayon knit tops do not dry quickly either. Keep in mind if one is handwashing & air drying while traveling.
Hi @lynnm.johnson5755 Rayon is not the same fabric as bamboo viscose unless otherwise marked. It's made from tree bark, and not bamboo.. And if you google" is wool environmentally friendly", you'll find that it is not only environmentally unfriendly, it is unkind to the sheep. I wash my clothing all the time on the road, and if I dry it first by rolling it in a towel, and then hang drying, I find it's dried in the morning. But the bottom line is this, if you like merino wool and can wear it, that's great. But those of us who can't this is a great alternative. Thanks for the feedback.
Thank you for this video! This has been on my mind a lot lately. I don't have a wool allergy, I'm just not a huge fan of it. I prefer cotton, but am interested in the benefits of the bamboo that cotton doesn't have. Have a great weekend!

Hi Perrie, from south Florida where we entering year 3 of record-breaking heat😮😵💫 And yes, bamboo is GREAT! I’ve loved my bamboo sheets for a while, recently discovered the underwear. A big big hearty “YES” to everything you said. My other items would get so sweaty wet that pulling them up and down was a workout! (Trust me, you don’t want the details) A bamboo t-shirt makes good PJs, handles any night sweat just great. But I never thought about it being “substantial? or heavy? enough to make good long pants. PJ pants sure, but wearing out and about? And for warmth in general? Like a lot of us from here, I’m cold at 65 degrees, and seriously frozen at 40! Merino works good for me layering, but it’s always scratchy, even the outrageously priced “name brands.” Bamboo just didn’t seem like it’d be very warm… Regardless, since you advise, I’ll look, especially for the long pants, most are so inexpensive it’s hard to lose even if just for home. Thanks a bunch!
HI @bettyparker3317 Make sure if you want to be warm, that you get the bamboo(viscose) cotton blends. I wore those joggers in London in temps under 40 and I was warm. Throw on a layering piece of just bamboo leggings and you will be super warm. I should tell you that silk long johns will also keep you super warm (it's the old school way of keeping warm on the slopes) but like merino wool, it's not cheap, but unlike wool, it super soft... but then again, since I bought my bamboo leggings, I am fine as a base layer!
Whenever I have tried Bamboo viscose (heels and socks) they have worn through and developed holes so quickly (socks in particular @ $18 /pr) that i found them frustrating to wear. Hi @LindaNicholas-b7t Personally, I have never had that happen to me. I have bamboo sheets and they have lasted for years. And from the other comments here, many others agree it is long-lasting. How about the sales people that say, when you inform them that you can’t wear wool, they reply with “but it only has 20% wool” “but it’s Merino, it’s cashmere” “you can wear a layer under”. No, no. No small percentage, no layer, it just doesn’t work.
