English Cottage Bathroom Restoration - Starting from Scratch | My Tiny Estate
After five years and ten-bathroom renovations on our 500-year-old estate [ua-cam.com/video/YmL97ZnyzWg/v-deo.html] the work is far from over. We're tackling a total transformation of the bathroom in the Servant's Cottage; from brickwork and tiling to plumbing and plastering. But before we even get going, we’re pulled away by ongoing estate maintenance which never ends. And of course, there’s Dean's job and caring for our little one, Danteo. It’s a true balancing act-renovating, maintaining, working and parenting all at once. Join us as we attempt to keep our pace and sanity while trying to find a moment to catch our breath!

As we pause to reflect on this milestone - join us as we explore each unique bathroom. W...

We’re in the final stages of restoring a small but stubborn room in The Dower House that’s taken us on quite a journey. Originally envisioned as a cozy study; it briefly turned into a guest bedroom, only to revert to a study - and now, it’s something else! That’s the great thing about a space. It can be whatever you want it to be - it’s all in how you dress it. True to form, this old cottage ha...

Переглядів 22 тис.21 день тому
The smallest room in the Dower House has become one of the biggest question marks! As we restore this charming yet challenging cottage nook - we keep flipping between ideas: Could it be a peaceful study for Dean? A cozy bedroom for Borja’s mom? Or maybe a playful retreat for our little one, Danteo? Every time we think we’ve decided - something makes us reconsider. With all the maintenance const...
How an Airline Nearly Doomed our Spanish Holiday | My Tiny Estate

We took a break a few weeks ago heading off to Spain to visit my family and enjoy a laid-back four-day cruise. What was supposed to be a relaxing family trip quickly turned into a nightmare when Dean was barred from boarding the plane due to bureaucratic red tape. With me, Borja, left to travel alone with baby Danteo and all the luggage and the clock ticking on our Mediterranean cruise Dean was...

Hi guys, what about hiring a person dedicated to maintenance? Temporary til the babe gets a little older…time is precious…think abt it…happy holidays!
But in the end it will look awesome. Thanks 4 sharing ❤
🙌🏼
👏👏👏👏👏💯♥️
😘
Haha the perfect music for this clip!
😜
You can’t stain anything in the babies room because babies will chew on everything!
Still achieving so much even as parents now. Love your attention to details and style.❤
Thank you! 😊
What an excellent job you have both done, you work so hard and everything is so beautiful. Can I ask please what you are using the sand for, is it a weed repellent ?
You gentlemen are so skillful and detailed in your work on this estate, it is heartwarming to see. Time to hire a Gardner for the grounds upkeep while you renovate. Remember the original estate had servants to care for everything so don't feel like you have to do it all alone while trying to raise a child. Looking forward to seeing the bathroom reno done!
It's astonishing to see how much you have achieved ! Your hard work is really paying off ...
Thank you! 😊
💚💚💚
😊
So grateful you two share your lives with us. I love your tiny estate!!
Thank you so much!
You are incredibly hard workers! You should be so proud of your progress! And now with an adorable baby...
Yes, and the outcome reflects your care for this property! 🎉
😊❤️
If you were inclined I think you could make a small fortune doing a Christmas village experience in the gardens/courtyard.
Take care of each other and your new baby, the rest will work out.
❤️
If only it happened as fast as this short, haha.
Exactly! 😂
Looks great. You two are amazing.
Thank you 💙
Why dont you open for volunteers, you would need to have a room and feed them. But if you could manage at least one volunteer time to time , i think it would help. You are two reall hard workrs. However, you still need a break. Much love to you guys ❤
Stunning, stunning, stunning. You can be so proud of what you have accomplished. You two are an inspiration to young people.
That's so kind of you to say! 😊
Story of my life
💚💚💚
😘
I love this channel!!! You guys are great!!
Aww thank you 🥰
Do you have one day a week that you devote to watering all your potted plants?? 😳
It looks so good ❤
Thank you!!
I love the way you encourage each other and work together so well. Perfect team. Yes you aggravate each other which is also real facts and adorable
Aww thank you 🥰
I am absolutely impressed by your work ethics and expertise. Can't wait to see the finished bathroom. Borsa forgot to mention last vedieo how nice the white walls looked that painted. Both of you did a bang-up job of cleaning everything.
Thank you so much 😊❤️
Would it be worth it to hire an on-site handyman who can take care of all the routine maintenance ? Or maybe even a caretaker couple. Part of their salary could be that they live on site. Free up your time to work on more important renovations, not to mention...Less Stress.
Will you all ever live in the main house? Or is the dower house your forever home now? I thought I recalled the main house was a future home for you, but they may been before babby 🥰
You two are amazing how hard you work, all the while with (apparent) cheerful good humor. If i didn’t watch the show for the transformation I’d watch it because of your positivity, which is catching.
That's so nice of you to say 😊
💕You should hire a gardener to take away the worry & pressure of getting it done💕
The outdoor shower came in handy washing your hair
🙌🏼
Maintenance is a nightmare at my mountain compound! Constantly always something! But I wouldn’t live anywhere else! So back to work now! Baby steps…
You can do it! 😊
Welcome to parenthood. ! Breath and make a priority list but leave time to chill. Your place looks beautiful
Thank you 😊
Everyone who’s owned this estate has had a staff to maintain it. You two are doing a huge job and probably need help in the form of a full time person!
Welcome to parenthood where there’s so many demands and so little time/sleep 😂😂😂Take time for self care and enjoy him now. You’d be surprised how fast 18 years go by. The chores, maintenance and renovations will always be there. Hope there’s a way to get some help someday 😍😘
thank you! perhaps someday :)
Come on everybody let’s get these guys over 50 k subscribers
Thank youuuu
Nice work guys. And....now we know why estates had live-in caretakers! Lot of work just to maintain.
absolutely, and gardeners and such an array of people! constant constant work
The gable looks fabulous! Why don't you hire a young couple that lives on the tiny estate, they can help you with maintenance, cleaning, guests, etc. It would be a enormous help and you could focus on the renovating part and of course spending time as a family.
thank you so much!! we looked into that a couple of years ago and the price was prohibitive for us. it was on average £60,000 a year and on top we had to include accommodation and pay bills.... unfortunately that is not possible for us
@@mytinyestate Why don’t you look into ‘volunteers’. Eg When my partner and I are travelling to UK next year, we’d love to stay in a charming old home. There would be many who, like us, would like to reduce the cost of accommodation while travelling, but have skills to offer in exchange. For instance, I am a keen gardener and my partner, a farmer, who is very handy… something to consider!
Lovely video where daddy en papa try to get some work done around Danteo. Such lovely people! Don't overdo yourselves, take your time with Danteo, he'll go to school before you know it.... 💚
😊 thank you and for sure its all a big balancing act!
Hi guys, thinking about the bubbly wall finish - you mentioned that it has the only original fabric on the wall, the bubbles are very likely to be because you’ve mixed traditional and modern materials. If it is finished with a lime based product as the traditional technique would have been, you allow the fabric to continue to breathe. If you coat it with a modern finish, there is likely to be some vinyl content which acts as a barrier and any moisture will be trapped, thus forming the bubbles as you have had, or flaking. (I’m a heritage consultant.)
I don’t know how you guys do it! I’m single, no kids, with a 1,000sqft home, and I get overwhelmed with regular cleaning, maintenance, and diy projects. I feel lazy after watching your videos 😂
honestly we just dont have an option where we dont do it, so that why we have to get it done haha
@ and on top of everything else, you always reply to comments! I hope you both know how much joy you bring to your followers and that your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. Here in the US, it’s been a rough couple weeks (for some of us), but watching your video helped me escape for a half hour.
So much admiration and respect!
thank youuu
😅 You guys make me smile, but I have three suggestions, number one a paint sprayer invest in a good paint sprayer save much time spraying the paint then rolling it out. Number two good handyman/gardener somebody you can count on that you can bring in to help you guys out with simple maintenance or with your restorations. And third, perhaps a part-time nanny might be some thing to think about. Anyway, you guys are a joy to watch. Thanks for sharing your lives and your estate all the best to you from America. Keep us in your prayers lol
awww that is so sweet! we do have a very good paint sprayer, but the time that takes to set it up and the prep its just takes longer than doing it with a roller. we have been looking for a long time for someone but unfortunately no one that we could trust to get work done without us being there supervising, also could be that we have done it for so long that we always think we can do the work faster and better, maybe a control thing
Juggling life, work, looking after a child and renovating/maintenance is intense! Take care of yourselves, too x
thank you so much!
I love your hydrangeas. And seeing the process and how you work so well together is amazing!! 😻
Thank you so much!the hydrangeas are a thing of beauty for sure!
Nice hat Borgia! What about organizing a volunteer day once a month to help you maintain the garden, lots of people love gardening?
That's a great idea! its having the time to organise that, I am sure people would turn up but ensuring is people that actually wants to garden and not turn up to have access to the property as its something that happens to us if we leave a gate open for long enough people comes in because they want to have a look... haha
You both work so hard. The tiny estate is not tiny at all, and will always need attention. The side of the of the caretakers looks much better. Well done Borja , starting the bathroom is the only way to get it finished, slow but sure.
for sure! I just wanted to get going with it :)
Its a beautiful place but a lot of work ❤
sooooo much work constantly
