- We love reusing old materials. When we discovered a stash of handmade 200-year-old quarry tiles several years ago, we snapped them up not knowing how we’d use them. One look at our very underwhelming entry way in the Dower House and we knew we’d found the perfect home for them. The trouble is; after starting the project, we discover we don’t have enough to cover the entire area and there is no way to get more. Aghhh! And with our birthdays just one week apart and no time to celebrate, our respective attempts to surprise the other with a birthday cake don’t go as planned. Let’s just say we won’t be launching a cooking channel any time soon but maybe Comedy Central could use a new show?

@sansone12 are you not aware that financially 55% of all adverts on every view goes to the creator account ... at time of writing this that's over 4k views.
This financial gain is alongside any IG gain in terms of money, free/discounted products/services as part of advertising agreements or paid partnerships they undertake. This is alongside finances from their own businesses. Their is also government grants that they can could avail of for restoring historic homes.
The Dower House is being renovated out of choice, it was a fully livable functioning space prior to them choosing to buy it. They r renovating it because how it presented wasn't to their style or taste...so they gutted it to restore character.
Why should the public be paying for that renovation !
Does youtube pay for your house renovation/decoration ..because i certainly wouldn't be putting out a message for the public to pay for my house renovation.
How can u not be aware of a financial crises at the moment, where people r struggling to pay their own mortgages, put food on table....then to suggest grey should be paid for videos that firstly is a path the creators have chosen to thread & two, that youtube financially contributes to.

I have only just discovered this channel so I have binge watched. I have subscribed as I have enjoyed them. Just got here on time for the new arrival, can’t wait. I am the 80yr old grandmother of two gay grandsons that were born from my daughters very unsuccessful straight marriage that after leaving her husband with my three grandsons met and fell in love with the woman that helped her bring her boys up as the father chose to disappear. She then became my gorgeous daughter in law, I love her dearly and my grandsons love her too. Looking forward to seeing a new video soon.

I love the fact that you are restoring an old place, as I have to be honest I love the old architecture compared to modern buildings. I am not sure why I feel that but older architecture has always fascinated me. I think that the two of you have unique strengths that encompasses the weaknesses of your partner. Together your strengths and weaknesses bring a stronger relationship that is terrific to behold.
I think it’s because old buildings hold stories of the past and that’s what makes them special 🥰🥰

I have similar quarry reclaimed quarry tiles in our cottage fire place. I had to chip off concrete on all of them before my husband laid them. Was totally worth the effort. I love the effort you are both going to and I dont know how you don't have 500k subs yet!

This video was fab, actually laughed out really loud at the 2 birthday cheesecake efforts!!! I can appreciate your work and how tough it can be as my husband and I as amateurs have renovated our 2 houses. At 62, we have just laid a patio and tiled 2 large steps. Hard work but worth it.

@@mytinyestate when I make tiered cakes, I use dowels or thick straws (like for boba tea). Hope that helps for next time (if there will be a next time). 😉

The birthday cheesecakes where sooo cute (and funny😂) And I totally agree. You don't have to do a big celebration, it is really the thought, that counts. Doing a little bit extra for that special person is what makes it all worth it on crappy days - and I bet you will remember those leaning towers of store bought (frozen) cheesecakes, more, than any fancy, expensive restaurant, in 10, 15, 30 years time! 😊

I believe corking a gap between stairs and the wall is a mistake, because stairs will move a little and corking material will fall
