Second of all, as I said, talk to your grandparents or even your parents, they will tell you the true nature of Ericha. Ericha, as a cultural, is a recent phenomenon. Ericha is always known to be one of the central rituals of indigenous worship practice. Third of all, others have been inventing events and telling or selling to us historical events. For example, the tigrian sudo historian wrote about our formothers' breast were amputated by Amhara people. We believed that and erected a statue. Again, as your grandparents know, there is no historical evidence or even oral tradition supporting such a claim. This invention was purported by a person from Tigray who is now deceased with the belief that our people buy his invention and run with it to fuel the enmity with Amhara people that we lived with peace for decades. Looking at what has been inspired between the two great people because of individuals that don't live up to the greatness of Oromo people, I feel saddened by the fact that our people became predictable this easy. By the way, the real history informs us that our people's true cultural identity is pastoral. Our ancestors were not known for their farming. They were pastorals and warriors. So, you see where I am going to go with this??? This "celebration of harvest time" does not hold any substance even for a lay person's casual historical review. Historically, Ericha was cermonial like any kind of worship directed to whatever kind of diety people claim to be worthy of their collective worship. Have an open mind to dig deeper for yourself. Let's accentuate what is true to be our ancestral historical practices rather than falling for these falsehood claims and inventions that don't pass a serious and honest scrutiny. Of course, there is no problem with Oromo people coming to gather to worship the gods they chose or gather to celebrate true cultural landmarks, not these politically motivated new trends being pushed by Abiy and his collaborators trying to do impress others or to show others that we have something that need attention. Ericha has never been part of the Oromo practice outside of certain areas in the Showa region. You can ask the great Oromo (root) people from Borena. Also, ask the ones from the eastern part of Ethiopia who are predominantly moslems if they used to observe the Ericha ceremony. It is cermoniatical worship practice. All the best

@@misaw6162 Irrecha was a new year for Oromo, like Sidama chembelala, before Minilk occupation. It was false propagandas specially by Amhara politician. I grow up near Bishoftu, I remember when I was kid how they was doing brain wash on peoples. But, the reality is not like that. Oromo peoples have enough scholars and priests, we will lesson them. Please, work for your culture not abusing others, that good for you peoples.

So, this whole chaos is during irrecha from heaters peoples, most of oromo peoples they don't give any comment on Amhara culture or festival, you guys should lean tolerance, make our country peace and better, don't involve others business.
